Dr Chiu headed a team installing 2 stents after my STEMI in 2017. My heart has been well-behaved since. I was awake-ish during the two hour procedure and have nothing but gratitude for the results. I am a biographer by trade and am the repository for much family history. It amuses me now to notice that Dr. Chiu is a graduate of the medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. The biggest building there is Brookings Hall, named after my first cousin, three times removed, who essentially founded and financed the university. My mother’s maiden name was Brookings.

Dr. Chiu has been so good with my father. He is sincere, affable and his staff are always available when I call with questions. He genuinely seems to care about his patients. That is a rarity these days. He takes the time to call his patients & check in. I've heard him a few times over the speakerphone with my father. He's not in a rush, asks questions, asks you if you have questions. He had some good news for my father and I think he was more happy about it than my dad was. You can't fake empathy. Well, I guess you can but that makes you a psychopath. Anyway, thanks Dr. Chiu for taking time with people & not treating your job like a business. I'm gonna post this elsewhere. Kevin B.

He is personable in explaining the Watchman implant procedure. Very professional and reassuring with my Afib condition and the prospect of being off blood thinners if I choose the Watchman procedure. He conducted a filming of my heart through my esophagus at the Sutter hospital across from his office. I have never been treated as well in all my hospital experiences. Dr. Chiu and the nursing staff were so kind. He is totally efficient in performing the task. I truly like him.
