List of Sara J. Reinganum's Reviews
I was referred to Dr. Reinganum, only to be told that affected area is bigger than she can handle. This information could have been determined from the referral documents and MRI information, without needing a very expensive (for the insurance) 10 minute visit. A simple phone call would have worked just as well. This is a example of why everyone's insurance premiums are rising.
They did call me back and I was able to schedule an appointment, and I am being treated by Dr. Reinganum now
A couple of month ago my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Reinganum. I called her office to schedule an appointment and I was told that they need the actual referral, but she (April) said that she will take care of it and will call me back within a couple of days. After not hearing back from her for about 10 days I called again. The call got disconnected at some point. I tried calling back 5 times since then and April was never available. I was directed to her voice mail. I left her 3-4 voice messages and as of now, two months after the initial phone call, I haven't heard back from April. There is no other way to contact them but that phone number. I couldn't find a way to contact the office by email or through their website
Overall this doctor was good. She was thorough and efficient. I had my gallbladder removed. She was direct and to the point. And within a month i had everything done. Tests and surgery even recovery.
Horrible, had a hernia come up after my appendix was removed and she refused to even see me, told me to go back to emergency room for another thousand dollar payment to check the surgery she did

Dr. Reinganum did my lumpectomy in December 2016. She and her staff have been absolutely wonderful throughout my cancer treatment and followup. When I first came to her, I told her that, due to financial reasons, we were changing our insurance as of January 1st. Rather than have my cancer treatments interrupted by a change in doctors, she got everything set up for me immediately. I had biopsy results December 8th, had surgery on December 13th, referred to one of the top radiation oncologists in the Bay Area and started radiation treatment on the 19th and finished everything on the 30th. All thanks to Dr. Sara and her wonderful, kind and caring staff. Winnie
I have never felt the need to "warn" people about a Doctor, but I had a recurrent breast cancer and Dr. R was recommended as a good doctor. Now, I have seen a lot of Oncologists, have known many firsthand from my parents and my treatments and am very informed about my cancer. It's good that I am and that I am not scared of the "C" word, because this surgeon certainly wouldn't help in any way, shape or form. She is disorganized, has the bedside manner of a self-absorbed narcissist, and her front office person, Leah, has probably the WORST attitude I have ever seen, especially when you are dealing with diagnosis that in most cases can leave you scared and about to have body parts amputated or worse, cancer or it's treatments are going to possibly end your life. This receptionist actually told me that if I didn't have a co-pay WITH me to pay, then "we don't see people that can't pay their copay now." Wow. What happened to the "First do no harm?' Some people should not enter health care and they should be screened before working with human beings. As a surgeon, Dr. R is adequate; bilateral mastectomies aren't the easiest incisions, I know, but I personally am not happy with the butchered up job I received. I ended up with infections and sooner or later just made informed choices without her assistance, as any questions I had to ask, she would kind of glaze over and ask, "did you say something?" I really felt as if I were taking up her time. Lastly, I had breast surgery 12 years ago and if that surgeon were still practicing in this area, she would be my surgeon in a heartbeat, but she was not an option, unfortunately. I have waited 8 months before this review, to make sure that I had a good perspective after the fact and that my experience wasn't just heat of the moment, and to that I will say: I haven't HEARD from her office for any kind of followup now for the last 4 months. That says enough for you to weigh your own options.
Well, I'm happy you were satisfied with Dr. Sara Reinganum, Ms. Mary. Unfortunately, I can't say the same. A LOT has changed in 4 years apparently! I'd give this surgeon no stars if I had that choice! I have never seen a doctor so RUDE and INCONSIDERATE, literally! My husband was referred to her for a possible hemorrhoidectomy and at the 1st appointment he had she never even showed up. She had an "emergency" at the hospital and had to cancel all her scheduled patients for that day. He got an appointment for the following day and waited in a room, in a gown for an hour and 45 minutes. Yes folks, ALMOST 2 hours!! After dealing with a similar scenario the day before and 4 enemas later, he reached his boiling point and just left! First impressions mean a lot and I'm here to write and warn any other potential patients to not waste your time with this SELFISH, RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE surgeon. Anyone that lets a patient wait for almost 2 hours without such a call to say they will be late, has NO MANNERS or empathy for any patient that is in pain. Her staff is just as guilty. Not even a receptionist had the common courtesy to knock on my husband's door to say she was late or couldn't be reached. After returning to our primary care physician, we were referred to Dr. Chuc Van Dang, who was WONDERFUL! His office is on E. 14th Street inside the Surgery Center building. He evaluated my husband and took care of his issue all in the same day. He was patient and took his time explaining everything. Staff was very nice and helpful. I HIGHLY recommended his office. Thanks for nothing, Sara ReingaDINGDONG!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
