Scott Mellum's Online Review Report Card

THE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. I called this morning due to a threatened miscarriage I had over New Years Eve. Before I even got to explain to the lady on the phone that I needed to get my hcg levels to make sure the baby was okay she interrupted me and asked what insurance I had. I told her what it was and she said they did not except that insurance and that she was canceling my first appointment, told me that it was MY fault and I was supposed to know that they didn't accept my insurance. Funny because when I made my first appointment they said that they did accept it and they even took all my information off my card. She then proceeded to tell me that she wasn't going to argue with me and hung up on me. Totally insensitive to why I was calling, she didn't take time to explain things calmly and maturely. Thank you for making me cry and for ruining my day. I wish she would have answered the phone with her name because I would be making sure I would be calling her out right now. You don't treat people like that, especially when they are worried about the health of their unborn child. I could go on but I'm sure the lady who answered the phone this morning has done this to way more women and doesn't even care.

Dr. Mellum is a great Dr who I would recommend, his office staff however are unfriendly, unhelpful, and uncaring. It put such a bad taste in my mouth I don’t know if I can continue to be a patient of his. Which is unfortunate as I do believe he is a good doctor.

Incredible family practice we have here. Doctor Scott mellum took care of me and my baby better than I could’ve ever imagined myself if I had the power and control over doing it. This man is beyond loving, has a great deal of patience, very witty, well educated and driven in his line of work, and compassionate when it comes to educating woman about their body and the series of events that happen while pregnant and boy was I just an anomaly I had almost everything go wrong and he without a shadow of a doubt made me feel safe and cared for I had the most amazing team and man behind me to take care of me and my sons life, I will recommend him over and over and over until I can’t anymore. If I ever choose to have another child in the future this is the man I will be coming back too.

Great doctor was my doctor for all three babys. Highly recommend him and his nurse very very nice and friendly. Just his other new staff is kinda rude specially when making a payment one time questioned how I was going to pay in a way that offended me like I couldn't afford it. But either then that I highly recommend him trust him 100% great couch in delivery :D

I am extremely disappointed with the staff at this doctors office. I called because I just found out I was pregnant, which should be an exciting time. They were super rude to me from the start (but I didn’t care because I wanted this doctor) The nurse told me she was going to call me back with a day/time for an appointment. They call me back saying they don’t have anything available until April....Why wouldn’t they tell me that on the phone beforehand? A friend of mind is pregnant too and just called yesterday, they had no problem getting her in. I talked to the nurse about how I had MS, that must be the reason they don’t want to take me as a client? Extremely rude and unprofessional.

I see Jennifer Hopkins FNP annually for my gyn care. The care she provides is thoughtful, professional and efficient. I met Dr Mellum when he first came to Chico. He has grown his practice with a very good team of caring professionals. I look forward to my patient experience with them every year! They define excellence!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mellum and his staff! He truly helped to put me at ease during my pregnancy and I always felt 100% safe and well cared for. I trusted him completely and would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing an OB.

Dr. Mellum is kind & sincere. He is a good Dr. He's knowledgeable & willing to explain anything. With that being said, you do need to verbalize your questions. He'll tell you what you need to know, but will not elaborate unless you ask the question. Can be difficult to reschedule appts. Set up appts before you leave. It is a very busy office, often took much longer than anticipated. Sometimes waited 30min-1hr past my appt time before seeing him. This can also make your time w/ him feel rushed.

I love Dr. Mellum. Had a great pregnancy experience with him and his his team/staff. Never doubted my daughter and I being in good hands!!!
