List of Walter Kusumoto's Reviews
I had a procedure done to me in the Cardiac catheter lab called an Ablation for persistan Afib. As I awoke in recovery room I felt a severe itching in my lower back (lumbar) area. I told the nurse about this itching and she rolled me over with a sheet and took a look and said there was a large blister at my lumbar area. In the operating room as the staff prepped me for this procedure, I was sitting up on the OR table and one the aids placed a defibrillator (return) electrode pad very quickly onto my lumbar area. turns out that this was not as Enloe states a "Superficical Tear". I went to a Board Certified Dermatologist for him to have a look at my lumbar area. He dictated that, this wound on my lower back, was indeed a burn from the electrode return pad which occured during my ablation procedure. Although Dr. Kusumoto did improve my Afib with good results, it took me almost 6 months to heal from that burn which left a burn scar on my lower back. This procedure was 03/19/20
I’ve heard mixed reviews. It seems like he doesn’t have the time and may have some bedside manner issues. Sounds like he’s lacking patience due to time constraints. If he’s the only rhythm specialist in town he’s still who I will see once his staff call me back again... it took months for them to call me back previously on an urgent referral and they weren’t able to schedule for another month.Every doctor says he’s great. Sounds like it’s more a staffing issue and a doctor who doesn’t have time for much. I am hearing patients feel rushed, unheard, shutdown etc. which is where the bad reviews come from.there’s no one else in town with his training. Therefore he’s the best. So you either want to see someone local and you have time to wait OR you should just drive somewhere to see someone not overbooked with poor staff protocol.Knowing these issues ahead of time I would write all your symptoms down on list and or any info that may be important/useful, past ekg etc. minimize it as best you can or hand him the list then move out of his way. If we know that he has no time then make sure you figure out how to make the best use of five minutes.Or go out of town for more sensitive/interpersonal care....Seriously though the staff need to call people back and not lie to their referring cardiologists and say they did or are going to...I’m giving him three stars because I’ve yet to meet him and so far it’s the staff and word of mouth. I will update this review further if I ever get a full hands on experience.
Dr. Kusumoto, has my respect. After three ablations, two of which I have lived with for over forty years, then Atrial Flutter was the third. He is careful, kind and protective of his patients. My life has changed and I am grateful. Our community is very fortunate to have him.
He is an excellent Doctor. I have been a patient for over 12 years and have had two ablations and several cardioversions. I have so much trust in him and his knowledge. He lets the patient decide what they want to do after he discusses options available, he doesn't pressure you to make a decision. He's a wonderful person and a great cardiologist in my opinion.
He saved my Dad's Life!!! My Dad went to many Doctors before seeing Dr. Kusumoto & none of them knew what was wrong with him. Dr. Kusumoto quickly diagnosed & treated my Dad. Now my Dad is happy & healthy . Thank you Dr. Kusumoto 💓
Dr. Kusumoto is very thorough and knowledgeable and shared all of his conclusions thoroughly. He gave solid information along with his recommendations. Plus, he let us know about possible risks to the medical solutions. I have complete trust in his qualifications and would highly recommend him to family and friends.
Never would I recommend him to any of my loved ones or friends I was diagnosed with svt and was referred to him from another cardiologist he suggested we do an ablation and said it was a high chance of it being done correctly it’s been several months since I’ve had the ablation and frequently without warning I pass out so I called his office drove all the way from Redding to see him emergently and when I arrived he told me he didn’t believe that I was passing out
Dr. Is knowledgeable, kind and supportive. However getting to him is a challenge. Once I realized the lady in front of me had same time slot I had and I verified with receptionist it was explained this office has 15 minute slots and schedule 3 people in each slot. So basically you get 5 minutes with Dr. your wait time for your 5 minutes might take an hour and good luck finding a parking spot within two blocks
The doctor was thorough and the staff was friendly. However, almost 2 years later and no communication from them, I found they had sent my account to collections and it showed up on my credit report because they billed the wrong insurance and didn’t even try to contact me to straighten it out before reporting it. Ugh!
Dr.zkusumoto has always treated me right and he put a pacemaker and difibuator in my chest and my life is much better now and he checks it every three months.I am very happy with the care I get from him and his staff and I would recommend him to anyone

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
