I saw Dr Bonis a few years ago for follow up after breast cancer treatment. I loved him and his sense of humor. Flash forward to a diagnosis of metastatic disease for me and it was a completely different experience. He seemed jaded, griped a fair amount about doctors who were leaving the cancer center and then basically told me I had months to live. I was so shocked I went home and cried. I have now found another doctor who is understanding and encouraging and the treatment I received is keeping my cancer stable. This makes me sad because I used to really like him.

I found Dr. Bonis to be very short and rude. He offered no information or help. I was new to cancer and didn't know what to do so his answer to me was, If you feel a need to come back, make a appointment. I never saw him again. I did find a doctor who was very nice and understanding.

Dr. Bonis either doesn't have the time to keep track of his patients, or doesn't care. He did not inform my family member that her cancer treatment might impact her heart until she was at Enloe with heart failure, despite the scans they performed that CLEARLY showed damage to hear heart from months earlier. His response: "Well, I'm not a cardiologist."He neglected to perform ROUTINE labs which would have indicated my family member's cancer was back for nearly a YEAR, until her cancer had metastasized into her bones and become incurable.His NURSE caught a common drug contradiction, a full YEAR after Dr. Bonis had prescribed it.His failings are many, and his responses have been insufficient. Dr. Bonis is only out for himself. Don't let anyone you love see him. They won't have a decent chance.

My experience with Dr Bonis was great! He took the time to educate me and explained all my symptoms could also mimic other disorders! His staff is also extremely friendly.

Dr. Bonis is extremely intelligent and caring, he takes the time to explain things to educate his staff and patients. Very kind and thorough with his patients interest at heart.
