Good luck trying to see this Dr. The secretary answering the phone doesn’t want him to have new patients
I called the phone number my insurance gave me & the receptionist who answered was rude and condescending. I simply called to see if the Dr was taking on new patients.
This Dr has horrible manners with patients. Treated my father with such rudeness and no care at all. My father has a hard time hearing and has a hearing aid and this Dr was so rude about communicating test results. Finally just dismissed my father and told him to go see his primary Dr. Not helpful at all!
I love my doctor and all his staff. They always make me feel welcomed and comfortable. He takes the time to sit, listen and talk about what's going.
Horrible Medical Assistant your forced to endure here thinks she's a highly educated medical professional. Laughable!! She didn't know how to take a blood pressure correctly. And the insults never ended from both actors. They just swapped places and the show moved on. Tragically Dr. Rodrigo is ARROGANT and that is REPULSIVE to everyone. He went on and on about himself as I sat and watched the stage show. It was nothing but a show. The MA and Dr. are puffed up with pride and have no one to (try to) impress but patients. Unless your a fan of false flattery what will you say to strike their ego? This patient will never trust him after he lied to me. If you see him once you too won't be back. He's the only Nephrologist with zero wait, you can see him the next day...for your own show. Don't forget to come back to Yelp and leave a tip for the next unlucky person that wonders in here.
Arrogant! One office staffer, the MA, has the same abrasive attitude the Dr. does. The others are nice humans. The Dr. is Very condescending and anything but pleasant. This was not a fun experience. He is Dismissive and oh so full of himself. I will try 15 other Nephrologist before I book another appointment with Dr. Fernandez. Thank you for failing me.
Arrogance runs deep in him due to the Mexican Machismo System that trained him. I got to hear from his own lips just how GREAT he is, and he boasts of being better, brighter and smarter than any other Nephrologist. He took so much of MY TIME bragging that my questions comments or statements didn't even matter as he stood in awe of himself. He said he would do one thing for me and two days later he's not done it and his story has changed. Oh well. It was his test to pass or fail and I won't be back if I can find ANYONE else. His MA is nothing but abrasive, rude, and inept in knowing her role and staying in her lane. She's the #1 reason I'd ever want to have to go here again. If the staff sucks, so does the one who hired them. NEXT!
The doctor seems to be very knowledgeable. It was my first visit and I was there for like 2 hrs. Doctor took a lot of time explaining everything yo his medical assistant that was in training. I felt very uncomfortable that he was explaining more to her than to me. I had a follow up appt and the office staff calls at 4:45 to cancel my appt for 9:00 am the next morning. Talk about last minute. I know he is busy but just because I am not a doctor doesnt mean I am not.
Dr. Fernandez is not only the best Doctor I ever encountered but he is also an outstanding human being. I am now 65 years old and finally got medicare, but for the last three years Dr. Fernandez, because I did not have any Insurance and I m not in the best economic situation, he took care of my health free of charge!, not only that, but I needed a study I could not afford and HE PAID IT FOR ME!!. He would spend some times over one hour with me and I was not a paying patient!!. He is the best Dr. and kidney specialist I ever known. God bless him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
