List of Sharna Shachar's Reviews
I called today to inquire and establish health care with Dr. Sharna Shachar. The receptionist who answered has treated me poorly. Very rude, don’t have any good customer services , she hung up the phone on me, then I called her back and told her be nice please cause you are soo rude and I told her I would complain how rude and impatient she is.
We are new patients actually my daughter and I we choose Dr. Sharna S. Anyway the lady told to come over and give the forms after we filled out, so we went Wednesday morning when we got there the door was locked but the front desk was there sitting, we've been waiting that she will come and open the door for us, but nope until I called and I said we need to see the Dr. so we can give the forms and book an appointment and she said the is close and she's alone inside and we have to come back next week, her tone of her voice was rude at least come to the door and talk to us as a descent human being, so I sad out the that we will never come back, she's very badddd....
Dr. Shachar is the epitome of care, compassion and superb medical intelligence. I have been her patient for many years, and I can truthfully state that she always goes above and beyond. She takes the time to genuinely listen, read all lab results, etc.... so she can assure the best possible solution for the short and long term. When I needed physical therapy or a prescription refilled her staff is right on it. I seriously have never seen such high regard in even the small stuff that truly does make a huge difference in the entire experience. When I was concerned about a lab result, she returned my message that day putting me at great peace. (I mean how many doctors respond that quickly knowing that you're in distress) She takes the time to answer questions. Her passion and concern is evident. I feel blessed to have such an outstanding and amazing doctor.
She has been my doctor for too many years to count. She has been there for the good the bad and the ugly. My husband also sees her and he hates doctors. She is very easy to talk to and actually listens. Always gets treatments approved fast. I would have died years ago without her. Best doctor and staff ever. I highly recommend this office.

This review has also been sent to the California Board of Medicine. If you truly don't care if you are harmed by your physician, pick this place. My letter to the board shall serve as my review [edited slightly for privacy].To the California Board of Medicine,Hello, and I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Dr. S, and I write to you with deep concern about the practices of the office of Dr. Sharna Shachar, LICENSE NUMBER: A 51402. Practice site: Fax: 619-409-9905, 525 H St, Chula Vista, CA 91910.I had been a patient of this practice for several years after I moved to California in 2015. Dr. Shachar and I had a therapeutic relationship - I did not skip appointments, did not request any type of controlled substances from her, took all prescribed medications, and paid all bills on time. I had a zero-dollar balance on all my accounts with her.On October 1, 2020, my back "went out" on me for the first time. I couldn't stand up and my husband had to pick me up off the floor. I'd never had back problems before, and this was a very scary situation. I got into bed that day and slept all day. When I woke up on October 2, 2020, I could walk again, though with pain and a limp, and I still felt scared of what might be wrong with my body.I'd just transferred to my husband's insurance though -insurance company name- due to a job change on 10/1/2020, so I was now covered under his policy, though I didn't have an ID card yet [proof of coverage during 10/2020 attached.] On 10/7/2020, I was still in pain, so I called to make a doctor's appointment with my long-standing physician. The receptionist, Karla, informed me that she couldn't see me on the Blue Shield website. I explained the situation - I'd just transferred health insurance to a new plan. She set up an appointment for me to see the physician on 10/12/20.On 10/9/20, Karla called me back to tell me my appointment on 10/12/20 was being cancelled because she couldn't find my name on my husband's insurance coverage through the insurance company site. I told her that I'd called my insurance, and while I was covered during 10/2020, the website hadn't yet been updated. She told me that "It's illegal to not have insurance!" I offered to pay in cash and submit for reimbursement to my insurance company, reminding Karla and Dr. Shachar that I have no outstanding balances and have never owed them a cent. Karla refused, again told me it's illegal not to have insurance, and cancelled my 10/12/20 appointment [screenshot attached]. I started crying because I was in pain and I felt shamed and scared, and I wanted to see MY trusted doctor. Karla told me "If it's that bad, just go to the ER!"I would like to remind the board that 10/2020 was during the height of the pandemic. Referring a patient with a NON-EMERGENCY problem to the ER during a pandemic with high mortality rates is the height of unprofessionalism and could have caused me great harm had I taken this physician's medical advice to go to a ER during a pandemic before vaccinations were widely available to the public. Due to the behavior of Dr. Shachar's office, a patient, whom your Board has a responsibility to protect, delayed care for 6 months while locating a new physician to review her symptoms. Luckily, I found a great physician in Dr. Allen Richburg, who diagnosed me with sacroiliac joint pain and assigned me to physical therapy - this is APPROPRIATE medical care. However, delaying 6 months while finding a new physician also led to additional pain and longer recovery time for me.I would like for the Board to investigate the office practices of this clinic. Being a healthcare professional myself, I understand that it is challenging to monitor so many prescribers, so I very much appreciate your due diligence on this matter. Protecting the public is a passion of mine having worked within the Board of Pharmacy, and I respect so much the work you do.Dr. S
I think that Dr. Shachar is an excellent internist. One of the best Doctors that I have had in decades. I was new to San Diego and I needed a new Doctor, with my health condition, I needed a great doctor, not just a good or fair doctor. I needed a caring doctor who would listen, make comments and give me options so that I could make informed decisions, instead of being run through the typical 15 minute exam room drill, Dr. Shachar allowed me ample time and did not make decisions for me.
Dr. Shachar is the absolute best. Let's face it dear public.... Doctor's are highly educated and can be brilliant, however it would be hard to give them better than a C in communication or listening skills. Not here, Dr. Shachar is gifted with excellent communication skills. A keen listener that is transparent with an excellent focus on the health of the patient. I have never felt rushed in Dr. Shachar's office.Dr. Shachar leads with transparency, acts with humility and delivers with a focus on your desired health outcome.Dr. Shachar and her staff have proven to be consistently honest, trustworthy and ethical in all they have done for me in my ~15 years as a patient. What a great Doctor, office and a leader.
I love having Dr. Shachar as my primary doctor. She listens to my health concerns and offers home remedy ideas or a vitamin option before a prescription. I love that. Dr. Shachar is very kind, patient and knowledgeable. She asks questions and speaks in terms you understand. I have had no problems getting a referral to a specialist when we have run out of options. Her reputation with other doctors is very positive. That means something to me. Her staff are sweet and very efficient with my time. I have already recommended Dr. Shachar to friends who are equally as pleased with her care.
I try to schedule an appointment with this provider, however pick up the phone was very rude and irritated.. I was trying to obtain more information, she cut me off when I was talking....first it's not my fault you don't like your job, but as a professional health you need have to be more empathy with the future and current patient's,remember we are not looking for a provider because we don't have nothing else to do, we looking for a provider because we have a health problems. In the future : I don't know what is your personal problems but ,let them in home..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
