Tarek Hassanein's Online Review Report Card

I am not a patient of Dr. Hassanein my son is. My son was gravely ill went to see Dr. Hassanein on a referral from his primary doctor, which took 3 months to get but that is a whole different story. So we went to see Dr. Hassanein because his primary doctor thought it as a gastral issue it wasn't it was Lupus. Dr. Hassanein is the type of doctor that all doctors should aspire to be. He is attentive, compassionate, professional and above all he did what I have found out recently that doctors don't do anymore is CARE for their patients. He truly cared and went out of his way to help my son even though it was not his specialty. Dr. Hassanein gave him medication to help him until he could see his rheumatologist something not even his primary doctor did. Thank you Thank you Dr. Hassanein for caring and saving my son's life. If you are looking for a doctor that really cares about his patient's well being Dr. Hassanein is your man. His staff is pretty amazing, too.

Absolutely no communication. Never even saw the doctor. The nurse gave me the test said that I would be called back and they never called. Is this the real doctors office?

If I could give negative stars I would. After waiting for my appointment for 1.5 hours I saw the doctor for less than 5 MINUTES. I had waited over a month for this appointment, all the while having terrible pain and symptoms. He did not ask me how I felt. He asked me nothing of my symptoms. He didn't even look me in the eyes. He asked to look at the palms of my hands (didn't say why), poked very rudely and invasively at a couple of sun spots on my chest (I work outside all day) and didn't explain why he did that. He prescribed ZERO medication and gave no advice. I was told to go to the front desk where I was given a test order to go to Quest Diagnostics, NONE OF THE TESTS WERE EXPLAINED AS TO WHY THEY WERE BEING RECOMMENDED and I was told to come back in ANOTHER 3 WEEKS. This man should not be a doctor. His name is Dr. Tarek Hassanein and I hope he loses his license.

Dr. Hassanein is very good.

I love the Coronado staff but Hassanein? This guy has had me waiting on him from an hour up to 4 hours. Why schedule someone for a 6:30am procedure then you don’t even get in the building until 9:30am? Then when he’s in the room he’s there for 5-10 minutes then he’s out - his assistant does the follow up. I want another doctor so bad.

I knew of Dr. Hassanein from my work health net work provider I recently referred a friend/colleague as a new patient to his Coronado office for colonoscopy procedure.Consultation. The surgery was scheduled within one week at the El Cajon office. Thank you Dr. Hassanien, my friend /colleague was super nerves about this 1st time procedure and surgery but now is so happy & thankful with the results and the no pain no side effects post-op! Dr.Hassanien thank you For your medical expertise! Maha S.

This was my 4th and last visit to see the doctor. My first visit, I had to wait more than 2 hours until he would see me and he spent less than 10 minutes in the room with me and insisted on an endoscopy, which I'd agreed to. At the next appt, I'm told I have celiac's even though my biopsy was clear. What? At this last appt, he was in the room less than 5 mins, didn't address a single concern, and told me to take pepto bismol and see him again in 3 months.

Patient at El Cajon office: Unreal wait time, doesn't listen to patient, I thought the staff was great. But him? Not going back.

I have been a patient for 6 years now - Dr. Hassanein brought me back from certain death - he always is kind and caring and positive with every move or decision - He is the best Dr. I've ever encountered, hands down - I'm stoked he is my Dr. and to call him friend !

Part 2 cont'd. I've read negative comments. As stated, I've been with Dr H 6 years, Participant in 4 trial studies. Been to both Coronado offices,Chula Vista including surgical center, San Clemente office previously in Mission Viejo. I've gotten to know many of the staff over the years. What people fail to realize is this doctor is a specialist in his field.. He's not just a "GI" doctor. Staff, overall are great - both front & back office. Don't confuse busy, best job for patient w/rudeness
