I’ve been dealing with some chronic stuff and was just referred to him. He was a great listener and I really felt understood by him. He seems to really care.

When he first came in to see me he asked me What do I call you? He she it? This is a wildly inappropriate question to ask a transgender person especially because of the it he threw in there. His nurse called me by my appropriate name without correction however he called me my deadname. Points down for that one. In our first appointment he asked me if I was experiencing xyz symptom. I told him Yes Im actually experiencing it right now. Later when I checked the notes for our appointment he wrote I denied experiencing that symptom. In our second appointment I told him about a symptom that concerned me and caused me to hug myself because holding my arms at my side hurt so badly. He seemed to think I meant I was hugging myself for emotional comfort as he commented about some people eating for comfort some people hugging themselves for comfort. I told him he misunderstood however he still didnt address the symptom and continued with the comforthugging line of thought. He has been generally unhelpful and kind of uncooperative in my pain management treatment. I do appreciate him scheduling me with other folks to help with this though. I am for sure asking to see a different doctor the next time I make an appointment. He does not listen and I do not feel respected by him.
