List of Elizabeth Odumakinde's Reviews
They call her Dr O, and it stands for "outstanding." Dr. Odumakinde(O-do-mah-KIN-dee) is everything you want and need in an oncologist. I was referred to her during my hospital stay where a small mass was discovered in or near my pancreas. She has ordered a PET scan for a closer look.Dr. O was running late but her assistant, Amy, called to let me know so that I did not have to spend time in the waiting room. She greets you by name when she enters the room, and spends the time needed to explain your condition and answer your questions. By the questions she asks, she has reviewed your chart. (I have seen too many doctors reading my chart AFTER they walk in.) You don't feel rushed. She exudes confidence and knowledge. She asks all the cogent questions and then proceeds to recommend a plan of action. I was more than impressed. Amy and other staff are also very efficient.

Dr. Odumakinde and the staff at the John Muir Cancer Center in Concord are as good as it gets! They provided expert care for my dad for close to 14 years. They are caring professionals that go about their work professionally and humanely. They know that the people they treat are stressed and suffering, and they do everything in their power to make you feel better. Whether it is a smile or sharing some small detail of their lives, they treat you like family, and when you're dealing with cancer, those small niceties go a long, long way! I am forever grateful for the care they provided to dad and highly recommend them if you should ever need treatment for cancer.
I have been seeing Dr. O for 14 years after moving to the area subsequent to treatment in another state. She is very thorough and an excellent choice if you wish to be proactive in your own treatment. While I know many people who have been told by other oncologists they were cancer free but then discovered untreatable distant mets years later, Dr. O is proactive in seeing me every 6 months, doing lung and bone screenings, cancer marker blood work, and prescribing letrozole. I am now almost 20 years out from initial diagnosis, and she continues to follow up. Sometimes the office is backed up when she has to see a patient in the hospital, but she always provides enough time for a thorough exam and treatment plan.
This doctor takes little interest in her patients. She would never listen to my concerns although I have a history of breast cancer twice. She never read the reports from my other doctors (that were sent to her office) before I went in for an exam. She always told me upon entering that she had only a few minutes. The office itself seemed efficient but overall uncaring. I did not chose her as my doctor. My records were transferred to her after my wonderful doctor. Michael Messer, retired. I am trasferring out to another doctor.
Oncology department is the most difficult for a patient to deal with. This group for doctors and support staff are the nicest and kindest group of people around. They always greet you with a smile and sometimes with a great storyThey work with your schedule and never leave you without an answer or care. I recommend this group ( especially Dr. L. Martin). You will find the utmost compassion and caring people.
Dr. Odumakinde has treated both my in laws for various cancers. Her professionalism and closeness with her patients is admirable. She truly cares about her patients and spends so much time with them. I can't say enough about Dr. O. To know her is to truly love her. She is so committed to her patients wellbeing and is top notch. Her staff at John Muir Cancer Institute in Concord, Ca are simply the best.. I've personally witnessed her staff massaging an older man's back as he was receiving treatment, only to comfort him as best as they could. WE LOVE YOU DR. O
Dr Elizabeth Odumakinde is my third Oncology Doctor. She is by far the most thorough in her diagnostics and she is very up to date on the latest research. I spent two years in constant pain with my other two Oncologist not taking it seriously. In our first meeting Dr "O" asked questions for about 30 minutes. She then spent 30 minutes explaining that current research showed that women with my pathology (type breast cancer, age, etc) did not do well on the daily chemo I was taking and she suggested I change to Femara. I finally feel much better. What a waste it was to see those other doctors. I feel like I lost 2 years of my life.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
