List of Tarek Hassanein's Reviews
I was referred to this DR. via Media-Cal . Absolutely the worst experience. When the sedation did not work he up the sedation ...still didn't work and he forced to proceed even though I was screaming in pain. The surgery center nurse tried to help, me to relax . However the fact that sedation didn't work. I feel his cavalier attitudes where harmful . The fact that I was totally aware of everything that happened and could feel everything during the procedure I would not recommend this Dr to my worst enemy.
He was one of the best doctors my father ever received treatment from. I have had the "not so pleasure" of having to deal with so many doctors for both of my parent's life threatening health issues. I can honestly say out of all of them, Dr. Hassenein was the most caring and vested in his patient's well being. We were in Palm Springs where the dr. traveled (Not sure if he still does) with his clinic to help patients that were undertreated due to lack of resources and specialist in the area. I'm so grateful for having found him. Thank you Doctor H.
Excellent doctor and helped me understand my diagnosis. Always willing to try the most and never give up
Dr. Hassanein gave me the wrong treatment plan for my cancer. I got a second opinion at UCI from their head of department and they and 2 other doctors confirmed this guy gave me the wrong treatment plan. Oh, and he stood me up TWICE for appointments with never a call, text or email. His staff in San Clemente does not return calls and flat out lies. This guy even did a test that cost $15,000 and was told by his staff (at the clinic he part owns) that it is 1 minute procedure. Hmmm, and 3 other doctors told me that the test was unnecessary. YMMV.

Without him I wouldn’t be alive!! I am 3 years post liver transplant. Very successful!
Patient called today asking for Covid medication Paxlovid. This medication works if taken within 5 days of onset of positive test. Staff told her next appointment is not till end of June. Are you kidding. This rating is not to reflect on Dr Hassanein, but for Dr Hassanein to work with his staff to understand urgency. All needed to be done is to call in the medication.
Dr Hassanein may have been a good research doctor but he is not a good doctor for patients. He doesn’t have time to answer questions. He schedules many patients for the same appointment times.
I am not a patient of Dr. Hassanein my son is. My son was gravely ill went to see Dr. Hassanein on a referral from his primary doctor, which took 3 months to get but that is a whole different story. So we went to see Dr. Hassanein because his primary doctor thought it as a gastral issue it wasn't it was Lupus. Dr. Hassanein is the type of doctor that all doctors should aspire to be. He is attentive, compassionate, professional and above all he did what I have found out recently that doctors don't do anymore is CARE for their patients. He truly cared and went out of his way to help my son even though it was not his specialty. Dr. Hassanein gave him medication to help him until he could see his rheumatologist something not even his primary doctor did. Thank you Thank you Dr. Hassanein for caring and saving my son's life. If you are looking for a doctor that really cares about his patient's well being Dr. Hassanein is your man. His staff is pretty amazing, too.
Absolutely no communication. Never even saw the doctor. The nurse gave me the test said that I would be called back and they never called. Is this the real doctors office?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
