I don't write many reviews but when something or someplace exceeds expectations I will stop by to share. Urgent Care Centers are so necessary and helpful, but what usually comes with it is long wait times and grumpy, overworked staff. I was able to "hold my place" in line online for a Thursday afternoon. I received a phone call 30 minutes prior to my requested time for a verification of insurance. I showed up on time with my paperwork completed. Front end, intake nurse and Dr. Cassie were all pleasant, efficient and helpful.I was in and out in 26 minutes flat. 26 minutes!! My regular Dr.'s office couldn't have pulled that off. In addition I felt like they addressed everything I needed. Wow. Just wow.
Dr. Williams is a great doc. However, the billing practice and front office for Family Care have been misleading and unhelpful.I checked my insurance before coming in and confirmed with the front office on the phone AND in person that my insurance plan covered a visit with them. Come to find out I was denied and owed in full on the visit. The Family Care billing worker even told me she had no idea how I got in because "We don't accept patients who aren't covered"I had to talk to several "billing" departments and go back and forth with everyone there. They got the wrong home address for me, the wrong Provider ID on the documents sent in to my insurance, and incorrectly set up my internal portal with them. So I can imagine they also didn't really confirm my insurance and just wanted to get me in. They just felt a bit lazy and not very thoughtful.I can understand its the day to day job and not expecting 100% customer satisfaction but am at least expecting 100% commitment to getting the details right!
I went to this Doctors office, and presented all of my insurance information, and payed my copay of 35 dollars. I called back days later, and spoke with Rebecca who said they lost my stuff that was sent off to the lab for my results. This place is a joke, now I'm waiting on a call back to refund my copay. Complete scam and waste of time coming to medical facility that will misplace your information after you pay them in full.
I have been using this facility for many years, and everything was fine, as I didn’t need much. This year, when I have had some medical problems, I felt rushed, no concern & my serious problems were brushed off. Very odd & not good, not appreciated. Are our medical professionals so rushed they can't care? Sad!
I normally see my Hoag doctor however, they just really have seemed like they are just too busy to spend the time with their patients. I met with Dr Jared Williams for the first time and he was EXCEPTIONAL. Just my knee, my migraines and vestibular problems. He spent close to 45 minutes with me. I am strongly considering making him my new doc.
Unethical billing practices. Since we've started going here for the longest time the only way to pay a bill was snail mail or via the phone. They send bills to collections after 60 - 90 days, of only sending a notice via snail mail. Not even in a red envelope. I had a really bad few months with travel and got caught up on paperwork when I returned. Sold a $90 bill to a collection agency along with a newer $40 dollar bill, and have no policies (according to the person on the phone) about ensuring they're selling the bill to a company that does not report to the credit bureau. They indicated there's an app to make it "easier" now - but that was started after this bill was sent to collections. Anyway I called the collection agency to pay, was sent to an automated system to pay, and then promptly told all the lines were busy and was hung up on. Switching doctors. Its 2023, you have to put in more effort than 2-3 pieces of mail before wrecking someones credit score and forcing them to deal with a collections agency.
If I could give this place -0 stars, I would. My mom previously came in for pain & I observed the receptionist being rude to several people. Unfortunately we had to come back because it was in my mother's network and close by. This time the receptionist was condescending, rude and mean to the point where my mom left crying and embarrassed. I've never experienced that type of behavior and from an urgent care at that. Please save yourself time, and look for another facility.
Highly recommend Roxanna M. She's a great doctor and I will continue seeing her as my primary.
I received a bill in the mail that wasn't covered by my insurance.When I researched and called my insurance and their billing department, they told me Peggy submitted the claim with an incorrect code. Their billing department requested she submit with the correct code. She responded back that it is correct, when it's not. I just tried to get a hold of her and she refused to speak to me and now I'm left with no way to fix this issue.
