Hoag Medical Group Costa Mesa Hoag Health Center's Online Review Report Card

I was scheduled to get a mammography ( I came here because it was close ) well I was wrong! This is not the Hoag I'm familiar. 1st the receptionist was unkept her hair hasn't been combed. She hardly got up from her chair behind the low counter. From my 1st impression she was lazy argumentative? I simply said I was here for my 12:30 appointment. She immediately says NO we never make appointments before 1:30? I'm confused? But she was way too aggressive and seems like she needed me to be wrong and she was sooo right! Okay then she gave me an iPad & a clip board to sign. When I got to the iPad it was a very tersely worded form that said if Medicare does not pay I'll be responsible for full price? I've never heard of this before? My last Mammography was in 2019. Been busy treating a rare from of cancer. I read some of the Yelp comments that there seems to be some punitive billing practices ( yep it happens even if I have Medicare & a supplemental which I should have zero out of pocket?) she then gets mad at me & calls her so called "boss" in Huntington Beach? I thought the billing office was at Newport Beach? She then handed me a corded phone on her low desk? I asked her to please clean the phone 1st please! She was so abrupt and so frustrated ( I overhead her say "she's" refusing to sign the financial agreement, she signed it last time? I was never there? I was suspect about how they were operating. The reason they have patients sign this is because "some" patients get there mammography's like 364 days ( instead 365 Medicare won't pay )? What? A doctor has to write the order? Yes would so many Drs make this mistake? This process requires intent and specific actions? I would not take my time to 1st go to a Dr have an appointment ( I'm sure the Dr & staff check my file 1st to see when to order another exam? ) and just write a script when I asked? The supposed manager told me "why" they were asking me to sign this? So why did miss lazy not explain this? So when I handed the phone back it slipped out of my hand gravity took over since the phone was attached to the desk ( remember it was on a lower desk) she yelled at me that I threw the phone? Now she's just over reacting! Anything I say is dismissed! Another employee comes out and started to tell me off? Wow now she's feeding off of the bad energy! I'm now so done with crazy behavior! The other employee is now trying to get me to "understand" what the rules were? What? I understood from the supposed manager? Why are we beating a dead horse? Now she says "we" don't want to treat me! Yep over reacting! By now I'm done with this childish unprofessional ( never have I seen this crazy ) oh the 1st person told me they are so busy & tired & over worked! How & why are you telling me this? She's is left over from another practice & not Hoag trained. Anyway I did not want to have them touch me! I was so frustrated by the abusive behavior I left & did not say so nice things when I walked out! Although the health care system is in crisis they don't belong working at a Hoag group! I should have paid attention to my "gut" feeling. I am going to the Hoag Hospital for my exam!! Beware! I also went to the lab there ( 7 years ago) and it was not very pleasant and very confusing when I had an order for a specific test ( this was when they were trying to diagnosis of my symptoms which turned out was cancer ) but they were sooo acting like they had never done this before! I just think there is no over sight & the staff just acts this way?

Today 9/29/22 around 8:50am Beware of employees here can't follow the law stop signs. Employee had road rage, I was being followed, cursed, flipped all trying to "scare me" because they didn't move out of the way on a stop sign that is in front of the hoag entrance way. Others honking too I was able to get their license number they work at hoag building which made it easy to report it.The girl and her bf were making out they didn't care for incoming traffic.

not so great they will change you maybe couple hundred $ extra then when i told them that when i called to make an appointment they told me its gonna be in the range of $35$250 then the receptionist went back n forth asking others then she reduced $390 to $250 thank god i askedand $250 only for 20min that doctor just gave me some basic info that i already knew from google and all he did was just ordered me to get a blood test

This review is only for Quest Diagnostics department.My walk in for a blood work was surprisingly good, looking at the 3 stars reviews I was skeptical and didn't expect much.I normally make appointments for any medical issues or follow up, but this time I ventured without an appointment.My wait was only 15 minutes. The facility was clean, the receptionist was giving clear instructions to me and also to all other patients. The nurse who took my blood work was with a lovely manner and she did a great job. I was in and out with the procedure within 3 minutes, very efficient.I noticed that the patients who had appointments were attended right on time so kudos to this office running everything efficiently.

Had blood tests at Quest.

They caught a spelling mistake in my x-ray order that would have caused a lot of headaches in the future. Took some time to correct, but everyone was so kind. I was incredibly happy with my visit.

A decent facility but the wait was very long. I did like my doctor though

1 star for The front receptionist. she is not a friendly person and poor human interaction ... she needs to be replaced. Other than her ... I give the rest 5 stars ...
