List of Aaron Frankel Md's Reviews
Nice guy-so so with filler and Botox. Not worth the $He put filler in my upper lid and it looks absolutely terrible. I've waited over 3 months hoping it would improve and it looks terrible. Fearful to let him him fix it. Less is more with filler. He blobbed it and it's hanging over my eye. Couldn't open my eye for almost a month. Just awful.
I highly recommend Dr Frankel. He has performed a variety of surgeries on me between 2011 and 2020, some of which have been his original work and some have been revisions (fix it jobs) of previous surgeries performed by incompetent doctors.I consider myself to be a cosmetic surgery veteran! Between my poor choice of doctors pre-2011 and subsequently finding Dr. Frankel, I offer up my experience in the hope that it may help others choose what's right for their situations.Dr. Frankel's biggest challenge was my nose revision. Two incompetent cosmetic surgeons left me with a nose that was not only ugly, but I had breathing problems as well. He successfully corrected the aesthetic issue, and I now have a nicely shaped and balanced nose for my face. However fixing the breathing problem was more difficult. Although better, my ability to breath is not what it was. I do not blame Dr. Frankel, and am happy with simply better. Revision doctors carry a heavy burden, and sometimes damage caused by previous surgeries cannot be fully undone.Another of Dr. Frankel's revisions entailed fixing a small area of sagging skin near my mouth. This occurred when one of the previous surgeons pulled my skin too tightly during a face lift, leading to tissue damage. The unnatural sagging bothered me terribly, especially as I got older. Dr. Frankel cut out the extra skin, stitched it to perfection and it's now impossible to see either sagging or scaring.I eventually also got a lower face and neck lift that I am thrilled with.In 2020 I returned to Dr. Frankel for a recommendation on what, if anything else, I could do to continue "the good fight" against gravity. He suggested a lip lift, and explained how lips loose shape, fullness and suppleness with age. I took his advice and am amazed at how this relatively simple procedure can add beauty and balance to the entire face.Shortly thereafter I went to Yelp's Website to write a review for Dr. Frankel, something I had previously neglected to do. Once there I was surprised and dismayed to see some one-stars. I understand that no one doctor will be right for everyone, especially since cosmetic surgery is so subjective. One must also understand and accept that any kind of surgery can carry risk. But equally important for readers of reviews, especially those who are newcomers to the world of cosmetic surgery, is effectively developing the ability to decipher between honest and dishonest reviews. After reading the one-stars I am convinced they are largely dishonest. I absolutely don't believe the reviewer who claims procedures were performed without permission. Neither do I believe the client who was supposedly "forced" into making a recorded positive review. I don't understand why Yelp would post a review with insinuations of organ trafficking on Dr. Frankel's page. The innuendo that Dr. Frankel lets interns perform work on patients under anesthesia is truly ridiculous. Many of the negative reviews read similarly, as if one troubled person (perhaps recruiting friends, perhaps using different names) is writing from the same script, the same template to spew venom and outlandish accusations. After my unfortunate experiences with the first two unqualified surgeons (my mix of not fully researching doctors bios (public reviews were barely even available back then), trusting an unreliable recommendation, inexperience and some bad luck), I interviewed a total of ten surgeons before deciding on Dr. Frankel. I saw something special in him: A clear, calm, energetic intellect, a constant curiosity, and a personality that emanates warmth and empathy. He was and remains the right choice for me.
Dr. Frankel and his staff are absolutely the best! I was referred to his office by a friend and I am so glad I choose him to do my surgery. Let's face it (no pun intended) it's tough to be a woman of a certain age in LA but Dr. F gave me my confidence back and I'm incredibly grateful.I love the no bs approach and he's not going to try and "upsell" you. I was so apprehensive going in for my consultation and actually, needed two consultations just so I could be sure and they had no issue with me coming back in with additional questions. The actual procedure went smoothly and I was back to work after 10 days. Easy peasy, I would do it again with his office in a heartbeat. Thank you Dr F!
Brilliant and true artist!Dr. Frankel came highly recommended to me by another surgeon. I personally do not trust all those "Instagram stars" with all those retouch before and after.. so when my previous surgeon recommended Dr. Frankel I knew I'm in excellent hands! Well, my results are way past my expectations! And let me mention that I'm in the beauty industry and extremely picky and do not want to look operated and fake! Dr. Frankel is an artist; my results are so natural and undetected. My whole experience was nothing but pleasant. The office is like you stepped into a gorgeous boutique hotel in Paris. The staff so warm and welcoming.I am a spa owner and pay attention to those elements.I know I will be back to see Dr. Frankel! And will recommend him to all my clients. He is the BEST!So grateful to you Dr. Frankel! I look so much more youthful and fresh.
Terrible results. Nice man but he ruined my nose and my pretty face. He even tried to correct his mistakes but it did no good. My life has never been the same.
AMAZING WORK! I love my new nose and the cast only came off today, which means it's still swollen and bruised, but the shape is perfect. Dr. Frankel was so honest from the beginning and told me that while my nose did have a few flaws, it was in pretty good shape and if I wanted a surgeon that was going to give me a whole new nose, he wasn't the right surgeon for me. After years of research I learned that the best nose job results come from following the natural nose line and instantly, I knew he was the one and didn't meet with any other surgeons. His office is thorough, kind, and quick to respond with any questions. I also had my chubby cheeks taken out and injections, all of which look amazing. I will definitely be back for a few more things I want fixed.
Dr. Frankel has been my doctor of choice for cosmetic and revision surgeries in 2011, 2014 and 2020. I continue to return because he is one of the best; highly intelligent, empathetic, a man of integrity and superbly skilled in the art and craft of cosmetic surgery. This review discusses my most recent procedures. However it is also my rebuttal against the few but perversely unfair reviews Dr. Frankel has received. In June of 2020 I got a lip lift, cartilage inserted in my nose to fix a breathing problem, and the correction of a puckered, baggy area of skin on my face. COSMETIC LIP LIFT: During my initial consultation I had requested another lower face lift (Dr. Frankel had given me one in 2014). Instead he suggested I get my upper lip lifted, a far less expensive and invasive procedure. He was right. Who knew that on top of everything else that droops with age, so does the upper lip! And who would have though this procedure would make such a big difference! My face looks substantially prettier and younger for it.FACIAL SKIN DAMAGE REVISION: I received a face lift from an unqualified doctor in the late 90's, long before I found Dr. Frankel. This doctor stretched the facial tissue near my mouth/upper jaw too tightly during the procedure and damaged it, causing it to permanently sag and pucker. Dr. Frankel surgically cut the excess skin out and permanently repaired the problem with a couple of stitches placed under the skin. He told me I'd have a scar, but it would barely be discernible and he was right. With makeup it's completely hidden. The success of this surgery is a huge relief for me. RHINOPLASTY REVISION: Besides stretching my skin too tightly, I had also gotten a bad nose job from the previous doctor. It simply was not aesthetically pleasing. In an attempt to correct that work I ended up with an even worse second doctor, who destroyed my ability to breathe freely. Despite not one but two bad rhinoplasties, Dr. Frankel agreed to help me. Although he gave me a great looking nose, his attempt to fix the breathing problem was not as successful. I never blamed him. Revision work, attempting to fix the mistakes of other doctors, is tricky and success rates will vary. However, he agreed in 2020 to try again and this time ... success! He inserted cadaver cartilage that widened the breathing passages (sadly, a 68-year-old's natural cartilage is no longer viable). The procedure was thoroughly explained to me, and I was even shown a sample piece of cadaver cartilage. Through the years and multiple surgeries I have always received clear, complete explanations of every procedure. This is why I absolutely don't believe any reviewers who claim there was no discussion about the use of cartilage in their surgeries. It makes no sense that Dr. Frankel would leave such an important part of the surgery unexplained. I am thrilled with my results. Being able to breathe clearly is a wonderful thing. SPEAKING OF NONSENSE: Dr. Frankel had no bad reviews when I researched him in 2011, so I was surprised and then angered after reading the few littering his review site. Where to begin ... First of all, why Yelp permits an insinuation of organ trafficking on Dr. Frankel's page is beyond me. I can guarantee that my upper lip has not come from some unfortunate in Timbuktu. And at last count I still had all my organs. Next: The veiled remarks that he allows "fellows" (students) to operate on clients are not only absurd but corrupt. Why would Dr. Frankel risk a successful career and his reputation to do something so illegal---particularly when there are other professionals in the operating room (nurses, the anesthesiologist, etc) who could easily report him. Proof should accompany such an accusation, but of course there is none. Next: One reviewer suggests that Dr. Frankel and his staff strong-armed him into making a recorded phone call giving a positive review. Ridiculous. Meet them, you'll see they are hardly the thug type. Methinks a certain reviewer has taken the need to play victim to a new low. Worst of all: There are several reviews on Yelp's "not currently recommended" page that spew so much venom, paranoia and absurd accusations that it boggles the mind. Interestingly they all sound similar, as if written by the same person; someone who perhaps needs psychiatric help more than cosmetic surgery help. IN CONCLUSION: As a cosmetic surgery veteran who has experienced the good, the bad and the ugly, I can truly endorse the excellent work of Dr. Frankel. However, whoever you end up choosing, the way to get great results is enormously increased by taking your time, doing your research, analyzing the data (what makes sense, what doesn't. What's right for you, what isn't), and using your intuitive intellect. I give Dr. Frankel permission to show my before/after photos to any prospective clients who might be interested, and wish you the best.
He creates beautiful morphs on his computer of how your nose will look after surgery with him. Sadly, that is the extent of his artistic talents. His noses are horrendous, hanging, lopsided, lumpy monsters right in the center of your face. He blames the victim "You are a BAD HEALER!" he declares, then offers to fix HIS botch for MORE MONEY. The victim retreats into the shadows with a full blown case of PTSD. One victim moved to China because he could not take the shocked expressions and stares. Two other victims lost their marriages. PTSD affects everyone in the orbit of the victim. Landmark occasions such as graduations, weddings, parties are all missed because the victim is so embarrassed they cannot face anyone. Nasal surgery with Frankel is life altering and NOT in a good way.
Dr. Andrew Frankel is a professional, meticulous, precise and compassionate surgeon. From the start, during his consultation, he put me at ease (and my husband) and described the procedures that would work for my browlift, facelift, blepharoplasty, and eyelift. He has a fantastic personality where his humor and kindness mix with his professionalism. He specializes in faces which made him the perfect surgeon for me. I'm very happy with the results.
Dr. Frankel is amazing! My review is long over-due, but maybe that's a good thing as it's been about 5 years since my face-lift and it still looks amazing. People who know I had the surgery, say it's the best they've ever seen. People who don't know always say, "how is it that you always look younger?". He was particularly amazing with my neck/chins, which went from saggy, double and ugly, to tight and perfectly sculpted. Dr. Frankel is an artist and I strongly recommend him.
