List of Viet D Ta's Reviews
I have never seen such a terrible medical office in my whole life! It is shocking to me a medical office can operate like this. Do they have code of conduct? Here is the list of the event that has happened to me:1. Called for an annual physical -- I was told I need to do a history establishment over zoom for $20. So I said ok let's make a zoom appointment and an in-person appointment for annual checkup.2. The day of the zoom appointment I called in and was put on hold and transferred to different people. Finally I was told that just "show up in person"3. The day I showed up for the in-person visit, they said no you shouldn't come, you should have done a zoom. I said I took time off from work and I am already here. Let's just do the establishment and annual checkup together. I will pay you $20. Finally I was seen by the Physician Assistant (not Dr. Ta) . I said just order a complete lab for me since my last annual checkup was two years ago. On the medical history, I checked acid reflux. I was told to go to any labcorp for the test.4. I showed up at Labcorp. I was told there was no lab order for me. I called the office and they told me sorry, I sent it to Quest instead. They did send it again. I was unhappy for the time wasted but ok, everybody makes mistake.5. I called in to ask for the lab result. I was told to do another zoom call to go over the result. 6. I read the report so I decided to cancel the zoom call. I can read myself. But then I got a lab bill for $150. I was thinking this must be wrong. Annual checkup is free. So I decided to keep the zoom call just to tell them to correct the lab order. 7. On the day of zoom call, I was asked to pay another $20. I was like, why am I paying so much for an annual checkup? The person said my last visit is to establish the history, not the wellness checkup. I said but the lab order was clearly an annual checkup order. She said I went in for "Acid Reflux". I was so shocked. I wasn't sure what to say. Does it even make sense? All the routine lab order was prescribed for acid reflux? CBC, Cholesterol, Blood sugar test etc.? She was rude and arrogant. She made sure I understood she was the person in charge. She said if you don't like Dr. Ta, you can find somebody else. Wow!I have read about their terrible office service but I felt I just needed an annual checkup. There shouldn't be much drama. Obviously I was wrong. I have never written reviews but this one is so outrageous I couldn't stand it. I respect Doctors. My picture was on San Antonio Reginal Hospital's facebook for large PPE donation about this time last year when there was a severe shortage of PPE. I have Thank-You letter from several other medical facilities including Kaiser Permanente. However, this incident made me believe not all doctors are the same. I will complain to my medical insurance first and see how it goes. I am the admin of our company's medical insurance plan. $200 is not a large amount to me and probably not worth my time but I have decided I will pursue a conclusion. What makes this medical office think they can blatantly trick their patients? Dr. Ta, you are a doctor first. Maybe making money should be your second priority? I will post the follow-ups.
Dr. Ta is the worst doctor I have ever had. He is the epitome of what is wrong with the medical system in the US. He had been my primary doctor since I was a young kid till I was 23 years old. He always acts like he's in a hurry and if you ask questions, he gets visibly frustrated when answering. And he always jumps to extreme cases when anything is wrong with you. I had swollen glands and he told me that there was a good possibility it was cancer. Luckily with antibiotics, it was resolved. My whole family used to have him as their doctor and we're thankful to have switched to other doctors. My grandmother had him as her primary doctor and he would come into the appointment and not even sit down most of the time. He would be out within a couple minutes sometimes. He didn't care to properly diagnose her ailments. He was also so sure about everything he said although he barely ran any tests. It wasn't until we had switched doctors that we had found out that she had late stage cancer which she passed away from. I definitely do not recommend anyone to have Dr. Ta as a doctor unless he changes how he treats patients.
So far so good. Dr Monica was very attentive
Staff is very unprofessional and they lost important paperwork. Dr does not let you speak when you need to let him know about your helath issues.
Dr Ta has misdiagnosed skin cancer on a few patients and they have been referred by his NPs instead. He guess a lot and then when his staff does a better job he makes them feel inferior. He is arrogant and awful to his staff which is why it reflects onto the way they treat their patients when they come in. He is only there twice a week and always guesses symptoms and never allows his NPs to do their job such as referring patients to specialist. If you do he says Oh that costs money. He claims he has gone to UCLA and did a dermatology rotation but I am sorry he knows nothing. He makes his support staff feel awful and fires them on the spot without really any given notice for simple reasons such as calling in sick when their child is sick. Hes an awful boss and doctor. I really do not recommend.
First off, I would like to say that Dr. Ta is a great doctor. He really really cares for his patients and tries to provide the best care considering their financial situation/insurance. He is really knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything to his patients. This may be why it always seems to be packed and people are waiting for an hour to meet with him. I understand that frustration, but if I had to choose between a fast doctor and a doctor who takes the time to get to know you as an individual patient, I would choose the latter. It's my health and waiting to see a compassionate doctor is worth it. If you're really busy, I suggest that you make an appointment early in the morning or right after lunch time. That way, you can be seen earlier. A lot of his patients have been his long-time patients and he has also taken care of entire families and eventually their kid's families. He's that good.
I absolutely LOOOOOVE Dr. Tas office The staff are all so personable and sweet. I honestly feel like theyre part of my family. I am well cared for and Jeannie Lam has a genuine care and concern for me and my wellbeing.
I honestly do not know where to begin. Dr Ta is very arrogant!! He is always in a hurry, after you've waited in the lobby for 30-45 min and then another 30 min in the room. He hates when you say that you did a little research on your own and discourages you telling you that anything online is untrue and makes fun of you for doing so. He disregards your concerns when you bring something going on with you to his attention, and makes you feel afraid to mention a concern you're having because he will shake his head saying, "What am I going to do with you??" Then offers no solution to your concern. You should be able to ask your doctor questions without being made to feel bad. Isn't it a doctors job to answer our questions and/or concerns and to help us??? Dr Ta doesn't like to refer anything out to a specialist. He thinks he can take care of it all, for selfish reasons only...money!! If he TRULY cared about his patients, he would refer them to the proper specialist when he cannot help. We trust these people who think they're GOD! If it doesn't feel right, then it probably isn't. I would never ever recommend Dr Ta, not even to collect trash!! On my last and final visit, Dr Ta was in an odd mood. This monster screamed at me at the top of his lungs. I am positive his entire office heard him. I have never ever been screamed at, let alone from a person who wouldn't even have his own practice if he treated all his patients like this. I was in total and utter shock at his behavior. Saying he was unprofessional would be a total understatement. I lost ALL respect for him, not only as a doctor, but as a human being. If he can talk to me the way he did, I would find it very hard to believe that he's not done it to someone else too. Funny thing is, my specialist advised me 6 months prior that I should find another primary dr. He had to have a discussion with Dr Ta about a surgery I needed, and at my next appt with my specialist, he told me that Dr Ta was not providing me with good care and doesn't have MY best interest at heart. With all this said, it is very obvious that a) I have moved on with a new primary doctor, and b) I 1000% would never send even an enemy to Dr Ta. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CONSIDER THIS MAN, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A NEW PRIMARY DOCTOR. By the way, he doesn't even deserve the 1 star rating.
I can hardly ever get in and when I do they are always running 45 to 1 hour late. The staff doesn't give a crap about your job or your schedule.
If I could put zero stars I would! So unprofessional and rude! I took my husband for a bad fall and extreme pain and Ta was basically trying to make fun of him, and was yelling at us "what do you want", and mocking my husband's schooling! Such a joke of doctor! Do not go here!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
