List of Andrea Yeung's Reviews
I am so grateful to Dr. Yeung. She was able to save the hearing in my ear. Dr Yeung is kind, thoughtful, experienced, compassionate, knowledgeable and very practical. She created a care plan that was comprehensive and spent the time figuring out how we could best go about treating me with all variables considered. I highly recommend her and SF otolaryngology. Their support staff are great as well. Thank you Dr Yeung!

After experiencing sudden hearing loss in one ear I immediately Googled my symptoms and realized there is something called Sudden sensorineural ("inner ear") hearing loss (SSHL). I went to urgent care which confirmed everything I read online and followed the steps of prescribing me steroids to reduce inflammation. There is no known reason for SSHL and the idea is that steroids can help reduce inflammation in your ear. You must act fast for SSHL. Don't wait because the treatment and chances of improvement are most effective your first 2 weeks. It was a nightmare to try and navigate UCSF or any hospital system for an urgent appointment so I'm very thankful to the scheduler at the San Francisco Otolaryngology Group who understood the severity and time sensitive nature of SSHL and helped me come in next day for a hearing test and appointment with Dr. Yeung. My experience with the audiologists who tested my hearing were 10/10. They explained their steps and provided me copies of my results. Dr. Yeung instilled trust and credibility with me in each of our interactions. She never over or under promised outcomes. She shared probabilities based on research and let me make decisions based on that information. For example, after oral steroids, you can also try a steroid injection into the ear and we talked through all the approaches, the timelines, etc. Ultimately, 4 weeks later I'm incredibly thankful my hearing has improved pretty much back to normal. Hearing loss is so random and scary and my experience with Dr. Yeung helped me be less anxious day to day.
Just wanted to add my voice to the many happy patients who have been treated by Dr. Yeung. It is incredible to find a doctor who will listen to your issues, discuss them, and patiently explain things to you. She took her time with my examinations and follow-ups, and was such a joy to work with!! I went to her because of a severe swallowing problem. She was seriously interested in exploring every possibility to help me. She eventually prescribed a mucous-blocking nasal spray that solved the problem. I would highly recommend Dr. Yeung for any ENT issues. Wish she could be my PCP.
Had the septoplasty and turbinates reduction surgery performed by Dr Yeung last week. Got the splints out of my nose today. I can finally breathe through my nose normally for the first time in my life! Amazing surgeon and doctor!
Terrific doc; great bedside manor; easy to talk to; helped me very much with a nasty episode of coughing up blood from a cut in throat
I've been seeing Dr Yeung for several years for temporary hearing loss and lifelong sinuses issues. She's one of the best doctors I've ever had. She'll be doing a septoplasty and turbinates reduction surgery on me later this year. Will update after that!
UPDATE: Still under Dr. Yeung's care for Eustachian tube disfunction + sinus issues and she still is one of the BEST doctors I've ever seen. Her referrals (allergist and infectious disease) have also been to great doctors and she's so smart, experienced, responsive, personable and kind; she never throws her arms up and simply passes me along -- even though I'm an incredibly tricky, chronic case. I sent my husband to her when he was having ear issues and she was able to diagnose and immediately treat him successfully... needless to say he's also a fan of hers. Her office is incredibly well run and doctors notes are immediately sent to my GP following visits. I have to say, her dedication to me and to finding just the right treatment to offer relief, really means so much. Thank you!!
I have Dr Yeung in my contacts ready to dial if i ever have a sudden hearing loss issue again. Excellent Dr. Leading edge. When sudden hearing loss happened to me 10 years ago, the only treatment was to take steroids and the newest treatment of injection of steroids was new. I frantically searched for a dr to inject me with steroids and her clinic was the only one i found in 2012. If you don't know about SHL, you are in a race as whatever you save in the first 10 days is likely to be all the hearing you'll ever have in that ear. She got me in that day and I'm at about day 9 or 10 as you don't even realize you have SHL as it seems like a cold. I got a diagnosis that day from anGP ENT doc in east bay and the normal treatment plan was do nothing. Even steroids were not proven at that point. They are accepted course of action today. I started frantically searching and learned about steroids and the injection and found her. She knew i was given wrong steroids prior from a GP and agreed to inject me and give me the pills. Next day i started to feel a sensation again in my ear and my hearing that returned - about 25% maxed out in 3 days. I would have no hearing in that ear if it were not for her. If the general population had idea idea about SHL symptoms we would seek treatment fast. In response to annieb below who said she was nervous injecting her eardrum even though she claimed she had done it hundreds of times. She probably has in my opinion. She injected me in 2012. Its nerve racking to say go ahead and do it. I almost called it off. But its actually quite painless as she told me in advance. Like a colonoscopy where the build ip is worse than the treatment. So I disagree with Annie and highly recommend dr yeung for SHL or anything she treats. She is surgeon and can operate so i think injecting is easy for her. AnnieB SHL sucks and it sounds like you adjusted ok. I did too and was 10 years ago. I just don't like loud parties or restaurants anymore. No cures in sight which dr yeung predicted 10 years ago when i asked her about the research with stem cells at stanford and their goal to cure hearing loss in 10 years. Well times up and that didn't happen. I hoped she was wrong. Im still hopeful that maybe in my lifetime ill get an injection and the hearing hair follicles will grow back. They have some baby treatments but not for adults yet....
Dr. Yeung was nervous when she injected my left eardrum with a steroid to treat my hearing loss. (It did not work.) Though she loudly claimed to have done the procedure "hundreds of times," her trepidation while actually doing it proved that the opposite was true. I've adjusted to being deaf in one ear now, but I think about that day a lot.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
