List of Claire Serrato's Reviews
I highly recommend Dr. Serrato! I had a large ovarian cyst, causing significant pain and discomfort. Dr. Serrato was able to diagnose and perform surgery in a matter of weeks. Before I contacted Dr. Serrato, I tried to schedule an appointment for the same issue with a major Bay Area hospital. Their next available appointment for just the initial consult ended up being a week after my surgery date with Dr. Serrato! I'm glad she was able to treat me so quickly, given the pain I was experiencing. In our initial consult, she clearly explained the risks and benefits of surgery and the risks of not removing the cyst, so I could make an informed decision. I was worried about the potential impact on my future fertility and post-op pain management. She was very understanding and accommodating of these concerns. She performed a robotic assisted, laparoscopic cystectomy. She was able to remove only the cyst and leave all reproductive organs intact, addressing my fertility concerns. The recovery went well; no complications, post-op pain was very manageable, and the tiny incisions healed quickly (in time, they'll hardly be visible). Most importantly, I no longer have intense bouts of abdominal pain and other symptoms caused by the cyst have stopped. So, all in all, the surgery has been a great success. I would definitely return to Dr. Serrato for any future gynecological issues. She's an incredibly talented doctor and surgeon.
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Serrato. She's extremely responsive and super easy to reach out to. All my appointments (pre-surgery, surgery, and post-surgery) with her were scheduled so quickly. Based on my MRI results, we both decided that I would have an open surgery. Surgery was also scheduled so quickly, I spent one night at the hospital and was discharged the following day. Recovery was amazing and bleeding was extremely light and only lasted a few days. No complications were observed and needless to say after I left the hospital, I was only on Tylenol for pain relief and I stopped taking it in less than a week following the surgery. The one biggest thing which I admired from Dr. Serrato is her responsiveness. All my questions were always answered on time. Oh... I forgot to say she called me the next day after surgery (while I was already at home) to check on how I was doing and whether or not there were any complications following the surgery. That meant a lot to me and I'm super grateful. THANK YOU Dr. Serrato and THANK YOU to your entire medical Team!!!
I had a horrible experience with Dr. Serrano. I was referred to her by my primary doctor. I looked at her credentials and they seemed impressive. I wish I had read the 1-star yelp review comments before I went because I could totally relate to those people's experiences. Seeing a gynecologist is a very vulnerable experience and Dr. Serrano absolutely made me feel worse than before I walked into the office -- Cold, complete lack of empathy, hurry to finish the job and get out, lack of feedback, and lack of care. She was in and out of the room within 10 minutes, didn't fully explain my condition and just told me to go back in 4 months. I was sitting there half naked, confused, and in shock. I asked her more questions to clarify but she wouldn't even properly turn around to answer while walking to the door. Totally unprofessional.I was completely shaken up by the whole experience. I'm writing this comment here hoping other women won't have to go through this. It doesn't matter how skilled a doctor if she didn't even know how to treat her patients with empathy and basic respect.
My biggest regret is having stayed under Dr. Serrato's care following a low AMH test result. I learned of this test result in a voicemail message left to me after 6pm on a Tuesday. Not only was the test result not explained to me, she then followed up with, "and I won't be back in the office until Friday..." Totally unprofessional. I called back the following morning and to my surprise the call back number left was her cell phone and she yelled at me for having called her before 9am. I don't feel that this diagnosis was adequately explained to me and Dr. Serrato's help beyond this point was also disappointing. Her total follow up amounted to a verbal referral to a very expensive fertility clinic and I didn't really understand what options were available to me. My concerns and plea for information and understanding were dismissed. At a future appointment she commented that I must be focusing on my career because I didn't opt to freeze my eggs at that point in time but I had never communicated that to her and the comment was inappropriate. I leave her office every time feeling like a piece a shit. It's difficult to get in touch following appointment results, I've sat on hold for 20 minutes only to be hung up on. I recently changed over to Stanford and I'm amazed at the difference in care and proactive follow up.
Dr. Serrato is one of the best for robotic, minimally invasive gynecological surgery. She has had over a decade of experience, performs many of these on a yearly basis, extremely knowledgeable on the latest clinical And technological advancements and a skilled surgeon who provides personalized care. You have Direct access to her at all times and she knows what she is doing. She also is one of the best surgeons who does minimally invasive surgery - it is worth getting her opinion on if you are a candidate for this vs open surgery - the recovery and outcomes are simply better this way vs open, non robotic surgery. I had a very good surgical outcome with her with minimal pain and bleeding and she is skilled enough that my time under anesthesia and on the surgery table was minimal (2.5 hours). I stopped taking painkiller by day 6 and started being mobile day 2. You want a surgeon who knows what they are doing, is an expert on robotic Minimally invasive surgery, operates fast with great outcomes and pain free/ complication free post surgical recovery. She is all that and you will be in the best hands possible with Dr. Serrato's care.
I'm so grateful to have found Dr. Serrato! She is so knowledgeable, professional and caring. I had already had 2 lap surgeries before I finally found Dr. Serrato and the care I received here was exponentially better! I had both a lap surgery and hysteroscopy. Both went very well and I learned so much more about my endometriosis and my body than I had from any other medical professional. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Serrato to anyone-especially anyone with endo! I also want to note how easy it is to communicate with her! She always gets right back to you (even on the weekend) which makes a huge difference for me. I traveled 3.5 hours (one way) to see her and I will continue to do so because she is that good!
Dr. Serrato is one of the most amazing doctor I have ever met. She is compassionate, always available for questions/concerns and extremely skilled. My surgery of removing a giant dermoid cyst was very successful with small incisions and little blood loss and able to walk the same day without any complication. Highly recommend her to any patients.
Gentle , efficient and caring
Not friendly at all, rushed through the appointment, did not address my questions, very short in her answers, I needed a surgery but it seems she is not up to doing it. She rushed out of the room while I still had many questions, her assistant told me she is on the phone and if I have further questions, is to come back for another visit. Money hungry to increase number of patients they see on the account of patient health. I will never go to this doctor again.
She such a blessing to many of my family members. She's very knowledgeable about her job and sympathetic with her patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
