List of Nic Gay's Reviews
You know how they say if you're a woman and if you're a woman of color especially you don't get taken seriously by a doctor?I didn't think that was true until my horrible experience with Dr. Gay. I came in, told him my shoulder was in pain, I wasn't sure why, but I was in so much pain it was interfering with everything in my life and I couldn't even sleep. We did an x-ray, he said he couldn't tell much from it and needed to do an MRI. I said okay, and he sent me to the front to get it scheduled AND THAT WAS IT.Come time for MRI, NO ONE HAD TOLD ME that it would entail needing to lie still on my back for nearly an hour. I'm young, I've never had an MRI, how the heck would I know that?Had they told me, I would have politely reminded them "remember the part where I said I can't sleep? I literally mean I CAN'T SLEEP."I tried to go through with the MRI, but I was in so much pain I was involuntarily crying from the pain (because they also have to put your arm in a position that further amplified my pain). The technician took me out after about 20 minutes of TORTURE and I met again with Dr. Gay who didn't even apologize to not taking me seriously. He said he would give me a cortisone shot, painkillers, and hopefully then I'd be more comfortable to come back and get the MRI. I asked him why he didn't give me this during my first visit and he said "I didn't think it was this serious."...so when I said I was in pain....that wasn't serious? At this point, I've lost it. It was human of me, I hadn't slept in WEEKS, and I was in MASSIVE pain. I said I can't believe I'm being charged for this when the doctor has clearly messed up.They said they wouldn't charge me for 2 MRIs but I still have to pay ~$300 for a "doctor visit" that entailed a doctor not taking me seriously and doing nothing for me that he could have easily done had he just actually taken the time to BELIEVE MY PAIN?Man, and the look on his face when my MRI results came back. It turned out my muscle had torn, fluid had come in and formed a cyst that was pressing on a nerve and that's why, even on painkillers, I was in SO MUCH PAIN. It needed surgery to be fixed and you can bet I didn't get my surgery done by this sexist poor excuse of a doctor.I took my MRI results to another doctor, who looked at it and said this was an enormous cysts and extremely unusual to see in someone as young as me. He said I must be in a lot of pain and asked how it happened. He was a doctor I finally felt comfortable enough saying - "I think it started when my ex boyfriend shoved me. My shoulder started to hurt then, but not nearly the way it hurts now months later. I'd only made the connection after the MRI results because now I see how it started as a tiny muscle tear pain and evolved into a cyst pressing on a nerve pain..."Imagine if Dr. Gay had been any sort of real doctor competent in hearing patients and managed to listen to me, give me painkillers and the steroid shot my first visit, and had made me feel comfortable enough to share that?If you're a woman, do yourself and do not come see this doctor. He will not take you seriously and is the epitome of what's wrong with how women end up getting treated in American healthcare.I hope he reads this and seriously re-evaluates just how awful he treated me and what malarkey it is to have charged me for that first visit. Because of him, even though I came to him in early January 2019, after experience pain the last week of December of 2018, it wasn't until March that I got surgery and was finally not in pain anymore.
Dr Gay and his staff are superior! His surgical outpatient crew was the beat! He's one of the most caring Doctors you will ever know!

Dr. Gay is a great doctor-fixed my ankle when I broke It and took the hardware out when It was healed. My incision looks good! Despite what L.M said it does not mean by any means that this doctor is not skilled and knowledgeable in what he does. He does provide great patient care, his staff is friendly and he knows what he's doing. If you want a top notch doctor this is one you should see.
This guy indicted on a pay for play scheme withMedicare. Of course innocent until proven guilty but be warned.<a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.justice.gov%2Fusao-ndca%2Fpr%2Fbay-area-s-largest-home-health-care-agency-and-28-health-care-industry-workers-charged&s=5fa1d8347d03da0f54ba91d4eefa7a721af985949abdd88198187f629de825c1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">justice.gov/usao-ndca/pr…</a>
I have been coming to Dr. Gay for over two years he is a very professional and knowledgeable individual he really cares about his patients in helps educate you about your injury I tore my ACL three times and I wish I went to Dr. Gay's office for the first time he was very thorough in investigating my injury and gave due diligence in all his recommendations in prescriptions on what and how to proceed in caring for my knee I recommend Dr. Gay without hesitation for anybody Looking for a good doctor
Wonderful, caring doctor. I have seen him several times for foot issues. He always listens closely to my concerns.Together we discuss what direction can be taken towards recovery. His office is wonderfully friendly and efficient.I would highly recommend him.
I've been with Dr. Gay for 2 years now and i have to say you cannot get any better treatment in the business. Before connecting with Dr. Gay i had some real nightmare situations with these other orthipedic sergeons it wasn't until I found Dr.Gay that I regained hope that my injury would be addressed in a professional manner giving me every chance to walk normal again.
I would never recommend Dr Gay to anyone, he is extremely condescending, rushes through, barely gives an explanation for questions and didn't spend any time addressing my concerns. I cannot believe there could be any positive reviews about him and extremely disappointed with my experience with him. Save your time and find a real doctor that will treat you with respect and be considerate of someone other than himself

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
