List of Paul Hughes's Reviews
Dr. Hughes is the best and has a great, friendly, and helpful team in the office.
Dr. Hughes was incredible throughout start to finish fixing my dislocated shoulder. His office staff were also very helpful with anything i needed. He's a talented surgeon (my dermatologist told me the scar looked "beautiful") and has a good style about him - hes thoughtful and profound - but at the same time no nonsense and definitely knows what he is talking about. He will 100% find you a solution or find somebody who can help if he cant. The surgery went easy and was super low key - and the rehab/physical therapy has gone off without a hitch - I'm already back playing competitive indoor soccer at a top level. The bottom line is that you can trust this guy - which is rare in the medical field imo. I would recommend Dr. Hughes without hesitation. He's a cool dude - I enjoyed talking with him.
Last summer I began to have problems with my heels so I went to see a local podiatrist. He payed very little attention to me and after my third visit he finally sent me to physical therapy however, I remained with pain. I had previously seen Dr. Hughes for other issues I was having and had even brought my Mom to see him a few years before and had helped her as well. My Mom passed away last year and needless to say, I have been experiencing pain in my hands, feet, and hip. Dr. Hughes had previously treated me for arthritis in my finger with all my stress, I had forgotten how much he had helped me. I finally went back to see Dr. Hughes because my feet were profoundly achy to the point it was unbearable. I had previously went to see a massage therapist who said the pain was coming from my hip. In January, I finally went to see Dr. Hughes for my foot and hip pain. I mentioned I too believed the pain was coming from my hip although Dr. Hughes did not agree with me he listened to my concern and injected both my hip and foot. Oh my God, I cannot believe how much better I am starting to feel! I returned for my two week follow up, of course, not without another problem in my other foot. I mentioned, reluctantly, "I am having pain on the side of my foot" without hesitation he said "it's your neuroma." Sure enough he injected my other foot, I am amazed how much better both my feet and hip feel. He knows exactly where to inject the medication to make you feel better. I highly recommend you see Dr. Hughes for all your aches and pains.
This review is LONG overdue. Dr. Hughes is a genius and I don't say that lightly. He is exceptionally intelligent and can get to the bottom of the issue quickly and accurately. He doesn't mince worlds, yet he is kind l, and very caring. He's a true specialist offering individualized care . He's a talented surgeon offering techniques and treatment plans you can rely on. So happy and grateful to be able to utilize his amazing services.
Dr.H.used to be on a pedestal to me.He did both knee replacements.I went to see him again for shoulder pain.Turns out I have bone spurs in it,& he informs me,he only does outpatient surgery & that could be done. Also having extreme pain in hip. That will need replacing,He tells me about two dr's in Marin, who dont take insurance, they do that type of surgery & get $750k , I say "yeah,I'm on social security, cant do that.He then gives me a cortisone injection.I ask about his family,I care about him so I ask about his 5 kids.Dr H. appears to be 'burning out. He says he can do shoulder surgery but not hip.He then tells me I need to lose weight,as the surgery center wont operate on someone with my BMI. I was appalled! In all the years I've been going to see him.I said I'd be in touch.Next day,I call Campus surgery ctr.& speak to my favorite Dr of Anethesiology (sorry probably not spelled right),Dr Jon Churnin.I told him what Dr H. said,he could barely believe it! Said "no worries Margie,I'll take care of you !" I then told him to please find me another dr,as I'm done with Dr.H. so he did & I am scheduled for this week for a pre-op appointment & a new dr. Sorry Dr H.but you fell off my pedestal.Insulting long time patients, not good dude. Take a vacation, seems you need it,best part of the whole visit was Gary.very nice personable.good luck Gary.thanks for your excellent care!
One of the bests doctors ive ever seen, professional and no nonsense. The staff was so helpful.I wish every pratice was like his, there would be a lot more healthier and happy people!
Dr. Hughes is an excellent choice for orthopedic issues. He has performed two surgeries on me, both upper and lower bicep tendons. Both surgeries have healed well and have had zero problems. I felt better immediately after both surgeries, which I did not expect! Dr. Hughes has an excellent office staff and uses a top-notch surgery center. I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family! We are lucky to have him on the Peninsula!
The master of disaster who only thinks of his pocket and not your medical attention or needs. Short and simple.
The master of disaster Doctor who only cares about his pocket. The office staff are pathetic liars. Think twice before you see this doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
