horrible place beware !! if you plan on having back surgery here only 2 good doctors slosar and Reynolds..unfortunately I got stuck with goldwaithe non board certified lousy reputation in the medical community..he injured me and wont admit it....5 years later my life in ruins as I was an active travelor, sports gym etc..now ive got nerve compression..pain ful and neuropathy
Extremely disappointed in them. In 1990 the now retired, and renown Dr. Arthur White of SpineCare performed a very successful back operation on me. Today, no fault of Dr. White, I have sciatic pain and lumbar pain. I contacted Dr. Slosar of SpineCare by email and telephone, a couple of weeks ago, and to date no reply. They should rename their company, "Don'tCare." This medical group appears to be a mere shell of the professional medical group it once was under Dr. White's tutelage.
I have referred numerous patients for spinal surgery with excellent results.
I saw Dr. Paul Slosar for persistent shoulder and arm pain after a bicycle accident in 2010. After reviewing my MRI, he concluded that because of two herniated cervical discs that were impinging on my nerve roots, I needed ACDF surgery. I trusted his judgment and was tired of the pain, so I said "let's do it," and he immediately had his staff schedule me for surgery about three weeks later. The thing I liked about him is he doesn't rely too much on reviewing nerve conduction studies like some doctors will order. That doesn't mean he doesn't recommend conservative treatment before surgery, because he does. I just think he's experienced enough to realize that some diagnostic studies tend to not be very useful. He relies more on how the patient perceives the pain rather than trying to interpret how much pain there "should be" from a diagnostic test. (I had already gotten a nerve conduction study ordered by another doctor, which simply confirmed that I had something affecting my nerve.) To be honest, when I woke up from surgery I felt miserable, and the pain was even worse than before. I later learned that only about 25% of spine surgery patients feel much better immediately after surgery. The remaining 75% face a potentially long slog until their body and nerves heal to the point their pain is either eliminated or greatly diminished. I was taking pain pills for a solid 18 months before I was able to stop. Maybe I was the exception, but it's just a fact that nerves take a frustratingly long time to heal after being compressed. Do not expect a quick recovery, and be patient while your body heals and the pain diminishes. Five years after my surgery I feel great. The pain is 95-100% gone, and even though I had a rough recovery, I'm glad I had the surgery. I would definitely see Dr. Slosar again if I ever needed more spine surgery, even though I have to drive almost 100 miles to his office. You really can't go wrong with him or probably any other surgeon at Spine Care Medical Group. He will give you an honest evaluation of how to best help your pain, even if it's not surgery.
Clear
I will be having major back surgery soon with Dr. Goldthwaite, years of hard work having finally caught up with me. I went to see him at Spinecare Medical Group because I heard nothing but good things about him from two different patients of his that I know really well. Any surgery like this is a little scary, not to be taken lightly but he seems like just an awesome doctor. He's done about a zillion surgeries, takes the time to really listen to you, is really blunt spoken, pulls no punches but is friendly and funny as heck at the same time. And the office staff here has been awesome, especially compared to that of the last doctor I had been seeing for my back pain. Courteous, professional and helpful. Patient coordinator Gina Vella is the only one I know by name, she's been kind of like patiently baby sitting me through my pre surgery anxiety and preparation, but I have been pleasantly surprised and happy with all of them, there seems a good office culture here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
