List of Tony Wong's Reviews
Best primary doctor Ive ever had who solved all my past ailments. Knows how to diagnose me well and refers me to the best right specialist . Easy to see when need be . Very highly recommended!
My grandma has been going here since I was in middle school... so at least 15+ years and I have absolutely NO IDEA WHY. This place is sooooooo sketchy, unorganized, and has an extremely long wait time. I really dont understand why he is the chosen doctor of the Filipino elderly in Daly City. My grandma was exposed to covid and the receptionist immediately told my mom (without consulting dr Wong or putting the phone down to check) that dr Wong recommends she (and any of his other patients) go to the emergency room. My grandma does not have any symptoms and we were simply just asking for him to order a test. Well apparently dr wong DOESNT order covid tests and we either have to go through curative or go to the emergency room. Even prior to this situation, Ive wondered for years and years and years why my grandma and a large crowd of elderly ppl waiting in the lobby and waiting room continue to go to him. If the Yelp reviews arent enough, look at the reviews for him on vitals.com too
Susan, the old lady at the front office is very rude. She would squeeze people she knows in between appointments. She has no business to handle appointments because she is the most disorganized person. Most patients complain about the wait time at this office. She would be so nice to patients who look rich. If you plan to come here, dress up because this would impress this ugly, rude person and you have a better chance of being seen by the Dr at once. Also, if you need refills for your prescriptions, beware, if you follow up with her (after waiting for almost 2 weeks) she would be angry. Yes, she has the nerve to be angry after not doing her job. This lady is so stupid she does not know that shes getting paid her salary from the patients she rudely deals with. Someone please tell this lady to stop acting like a primaDonna and start being nice to the patients who pay her salary. Also, clean up, your front office is so messy and dirty.....yuck just like the the big boss of the front office named, Susan!
I dont know how this guy even has a valid license to practice medicine. I have been dealing with him on and off over the past 8 years. My FIL does not like change and as a result I am forced to deal with him. I DONT WANT ANYONE ELSE AFFECTED by his lack of professionalism or carelessness. He recklessly gives out too much pain meds which are in direct counteraction to certain meds my FIL was supposed to be taking. Refuses to sign papers for authorization of prescription changes so that my FIL gets the proper medication needed. My latest issue with him was he said I dont have any prescription forms anymore so I cant fax any prescriptions! How are you a doctor and dont have prescription forms?? Then when the pharmacist called him, he yelled at them for losing the called in prescription request. Honestly I dont even think he called it in. This isnt the first time this has happened either. Then just today as of 15 minutes before this review... I get a phone call from the pharmacist saying Dr. Wong doesnt want to fill any prescriptions and to contact another doctor. There is no other doctor so who are contacting??? He gave the pharmacist a generic name literally just last name and no other contact info. I am now trying to track down this socalled other primary treating physician that has never even seen my FIL to sign a paper. This is just ridiculous. By the way these are diabetic meds that need to be administered at least 4 times a day!
I have know Dr. Wong and his staff since 2014. I was employed in a medical supply company and I have dealt with them numerous times. It was a pleasureable experience, they are timely and responded quickly with our requests. Our customers are also delighted with their warnth and care so whenever they pick up their durable medical equipment they shared their wonderful experience with the staff and with the doctor to us. Anyway, what I experienced above was a professional interaction as a business. Let me share with you something of my personal experience. When my insurance had an overlap and I had to get my medicine so bad for my Diabetes. A friend recommended Dr. Tony Lee Wong. I called in to get an appointment and I was scheduled. I went in his office 5 minutes before they open even if my schedule is at 10:30am. My childs pediatrician told me that whenever someone with earlier appointment cancelled they call then next one and it could be me. So I make it to a point that when I scheduled an appointment I keep it and I am early for it. My thought process is to wait as long as it take to talk to my doctor about my health. I dont think I am so special like I am the center of the universe. Anyway, I sat inside as soon as the staff opens the door. I told her no worries because my appointment is still at 10:30am. Few people came in. I sat there waited patiently. I was called in after 3 patients and around 11:10am. I stayed in the room for a couple of minutes and Dr. Wong came in a greeted me. This is our first time to meet so he doesnt have my full medical records. I told him that I am just here for the refill prescription for my meds. I explained to him about my insurance overlap and I gave him my medicines to check. After a while he did the examination listen to my heart, lungs, check my mouth and ears, those stuff. I never felt violated as some would feel because doctors are supposed to examine you. Like they examine a baby or an elderly during a consult. Hehehe unless they squeeze you or something. Well, everything went well with this visit. I had far worst experience with a county clinic mind you. I gave 4 not 5 stars because 1.) He is not my primary doctor. 2.) He gave me a new medicine called Farxiga. He even gave me a few samples which is thoughtful. But when I took it (1 damn pill) I got so sick, I was throwing up and nauseated. I called them to inform them. They just told me that I am still adjusting to it. Nope. No way. I called my primary doctor and informed her about it. She just said my diabetes is controlled so I dont need to take it.There you go.
Dr. Tony Wong is actually a good clinician. He has many years of practice and runs a very high volume practice. He is very quick and efficient and will refer to the appropriate specialists. His practice is largely medicaid medicare and there is always a long wait to see him. If wait time and bedside manner are important to you then Dr. Wong is not for you. However, he is an excellent clinician which is what I value most
This office, the staff and the Dr do not deserve a star at all. I wish Yelp are able to fix this problem giving no star to the establishment like this. First of all I used to be a patient in this facility, I changed office due to unorganized, dirty, rude, files everywhere and the front ladies are constantly eating or chewing something while talking/answering phone or in front of the patients. Common manners if your in a professional establishment first thing you dont do is eat/chew while talking to patients. My appointment was at 330, came in and signed in around 325. I had to wait outside because its fully crowded and everyone waiting are coughing and sneezing. 415 came and still waiting. To make this review shorter, I was called at 523, by that time I was already pissed off! Furiously mad and had lots of questions to asked the Dr. I just needed physical yearly exam. I was just in there for 20 minutes. Basically I was waiting for 15 minutes for the Dr to come in. After that gave me a form where to go for my blood tests. Thats it, I waited for more than 2 hours for the form. WTF! Its been 3/4 years since that horrible experience. Changed my primary doctor. Dont come to this office. My doctor is on 6th floor Dr. Julia Myint, shes nice and listens well and the most you wait is 15/20 minutes. Staff are really polite and doesnt eat while talking to patients. I highly recommend Dr. Julia Myint.
As many others, I also wish I could give a negative rating to this doctor and his office. First of all, the office looked dirty and unorganized. When I was registering at the front window, I noticed a bag of Cheetos below the window on the staffs desk. They were sharing the Cheetos. Female staffs would come out from the back, grabbing and eating them with files in their other hand. How would they have appetite to eat while being in contact with numerous patients with unknown medical problems? Also, were they washing their hands properly? When I was seeing the doctor, he didnt really gave me a good answer. MOST IMPORTANTLY towards the end, he asked to take my blood pressure and listen to my lungs, which other doctors usually have their nurse to do Before seeing the patient. I thought it could be a normal procedure though my problem probably had nothing to do with it. As he moved the stethoscope from my back towards my chest, he suddenly pushed it onto the tip of my breast. I looked at him with surprise. Obviously that is not how doctors listen to their patients lungs! I felt extremely insulted at the point. I left the office without saying anything, but I will not remain silent. This incident will be reported to the Medical Board.
Ill be broke with this dr.. hahaha time to change and find a better one.
I have bee a patient of this doctor for 6 years and since then it has been like a second home. I go there very often due to my chronic condition. Dr. Wong is a very good doctor and shows so much compassion to his patients. He and his staff treat them like their own family. He has a small office office though. His staff are very compassionate and accommodating but others may not understand that they too are human and could loose their patience at times. I can see his staff stand the whole day while working but still manage to give you a smile. Theyre very friendly not only to patients but also to the reps. Sometimes it could be a long wait but thats how it is and its worth it. Kudos to dr. Wong and his staff!
