William Petersen's Online Review Report Card

I recently was referred to Dr. Petersen in Dana Point. I could not have been happier with his knowledge and his offices personnel friendliness and professionalism. I received a very thorough eye exam, and Dr. Petersen took the time to explain exactly the current health of my eyes and what I could expect in the future. I highly recommend Dr. Petersen for anyone needing a great Optometrist. Tiffany and Gigi (the office staff) were also just as wonderful. They were extremely friendly, smart, and happy to attend to my needs and a couple other patients in the office during my visit.

The ladies who work in the front are phenomenal and helped me find the best pink tortoise glasses that were within my budget! Dr.Peterson was friendly and helped me find a great fit for my contact lenses.

Worst optometrist experience ever. And that's saying a lot. I've been wearing contacts for 46 years and every year I see the optometrist for an updated prescription. Our insurance changed and I was no longer able to go to the doctor I used last year so I made an appointment with Dr. Peterson. The office was unprofessional and outdated but that wasn't the issue. Dr. Peterson didn't even look at my eyes! He did a quick vision test then sent me to order my contacts. I asked him how he knows the health of my eyes without even looking at them. He replies with, Well you refused the imaging ( I refused the imaging because it triggers a major migraine for me which he made it clear he didn't believe when I told him) all my other doctors were able to do a thorough exam without the use of imaging. He then says fine, come on back.... He does a quick look in my eyes with a light and says all looks fine. At this point I'm so annoyed I just want to get my prescription and leave. After leaving I noticed that they wrote me the wrong prescription for my glasses and charged me for the imaging I did not get. A complete waste of time! I call and tell them that I want a refund which she does right away, no questions asked, making me think that this happens a lot. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else and get a thorough exam.

Dr Peterson is a great doctor. We just moved here from LA and we are happy with Dr Peterson's attention to detail and friendly demeanor!

Dr. Peterson is a FANTISTIC doctor. He always takes his time with me and makes sure I have the right prescription, and he will schedule follow ups for one week in order to ensure that the prescription I got is not giving me any problems. He is friendly, intelligent, and effective. I've been going to him for two years and have never had a long wait for my appointment or any issues whatsoever with my services. I absolutely would recommend him to anyone and everyone for their eye care needs!!

All I have to say is that this team and Dr. are absolute Vacation Savers. Half way through my second flight to CA from GA, I realized I totally forgot to pack my contacts...not good for someone who was on the first vacation in several years, had a family wedding to attend, and was going hiking in Utah after...when going out, I always wear my contacts...and I couldn't wear my new sunglasses. Anyway, I called them from the airport in total panic...the kind woman on the other end had me an appt the very next day!!!!! I realized it was going to be a hit to my wallet as a Dr. in CA and paying out of pocket could be super pricy, but the Dr. showed compassion and did my wallet a big favor by offering me a reduced rate...I was grateful. My experience with this team was nothing but a pleasure. The Dr. was kind, friendly, and got me seeing in contacts that day!!!!! Finding them was a true stress relief to me and really made the rest of our vacation as I could wear my sunglasses, and I didn't have to wear glasses in family pictures. I've been going to Dr. Petersen for many years, he's always a pleasure to visit, and very professional. I can only say good things about him, and I've never had another doctor thank me for being his patient. He's a native California surfer, so he has great experience with ocean athletes who use their eyes in extreme conditions. I HIGHLY recommend him!
