We love Dr Martin! He is absolutely exceptional. He always makes room in his schedule to fit you in if you need to be seen right away. Excellent communication skills, tons of experience, and very knowledgeable. You know you’re in good hands with him.

In choosing a doctor for our family I look at a few criteria’s. 1)Expertise and experience in the area, 2)Professionalism 3)the EQ/bedside manners/interpersonal connection component of the doctor. 4) Access to a larger network of medical specialists and facilities in case of an emergency or other medical needs. Dr.Martin is one of the top if not top pediatrician/family practitioners in San Diego and one of the main reasons why we choose Sharp Reese-Stealy . He and his immediate team exceeds the top 4 of our criteria’s with flying colors. Dr. Martin is personal, spends time to listen to his patients and thoroughly assists you as an individual vs a number like many doctors office these days (much due to all the medical data they have to input in the system vs one on one time with the patient). He is a part of the larger SHARP family thus has access to all of their hospitals and specialists. What I appreciate is the long standing relationships he has with the specialists he recommends and seems to know their work having practice for so long. It’s not just a name he is pulling from a roster of Sharp doctors but he has put some thought and consideration into these referrals. Our immediate and extended families all go to him. Facility- Modern, clean, and well equipped. Staff- Professional and polite If I can change one thing that is how calls are managed from the Sharp Facilities general lines. Best to contact the doctors directly through the “FollowMyHealth” platform if you are already a patient vs calling their general switchboard line. These lines can take a while to get through and the individuals answering these calls can be inconsistent.

Dr Martin is a super good Primary Care physican. Has a calming demeanor and tone. Always listens to what I am saying and ensures the patient fully understands what he is communicating. Best.
