I recently had a Gastric Bypass procedure done by Dr. Wittgrove and team. Has truly changed my life for the better. Dr. Wittgrove is, without a doubt, the best surgeon and expert you could ask for. He surrounds himself with the best team to help you in your journey. Tracy offers a personal touch and expertise that you will not find elsewhere. She becomes your ultimate cheerleader and mentor as you journey through your new life. I have her direct line saved in my phone and was encouraged to ask any questions any time. The support staff is also a highlight whether it's Sharon assisting you at the front or Breann setting everything up with your insurance. The process was easy. If you are on the fence, I encourage you to speak with the team. Life changing experience.

In April of 2020 I was 43 years old, depressed, unemployed and weighed 257lb. I could not chase after my Grandson, go up a flight of stairs without being majorly winded, run, ride my motorcycle, find comfortable clothes or even be intimate with my husband due to my weight. I was depressed and angry at myself. I knew something had to drastically change. After a lot of research, I meet Dr. Whittgrove. Right away I knew he was the right Dr. for me. He has never made me feel embarrassed or ashamed instead he was attentive and encouraging. On April 13th of 2020 I had Gastric Sleeve surgery. Now there were a few people in my life who said “you’re taking the easy way out!” What a crock!!! This is one of the hardest things I have ever done! I had to work emotionally and physically harder than I ever have in my life! I now use food to fuel myself for the next fun adventure instead of using it to cope with my issues or because I am bored. Food was never my enemy, I was. I am extremely happy and proud of what I have accomplished. Today I weigh 137lb. I am self-employed, can chase after my Grandson for hours, run and participate in every race I can find. I bought a brand-new motorcycle as a gift to myself for all the hard work I have done. I am not limited to what stores I can shop at for clothes. And best of all my husband and I have found each other again! I can never thank Dr. Whittgrove or his staff enough. They inspired hope and made me believe in myself again. They encouraged me. They gave me the tools to save my own life. For that I will be forever grateful! I currently am in recovery from converting from a sleeve to a bypass along with a hernia repair and some other complications that doctor Wittgrove was able to fix. I had gone to 4 doctors prior to seeing him and nobody has taken that initiation to take their time in finding out what's going on or what was happening with my sleeve. They would prescribe me Prilosec and send me on my Merry way. Dr wittgrove did the opposite and he was more than willing to help me. After sending me for an upper GI he found the complications that we assumed were happening and I'm so glad he did. He has been more than a doctor he has been so genuine caring and nice! I truly am so grateful for him. I was really scared about surgery and he assured me that I was in good hands and I now know that I am in great hands while in his care he is so gentle and listens. Truly blessed to have him as my bariatric surgeon! I'm so thankful for you Doc and Tracy. I wasn't having a great experience in the hospital I made a call and Tracy and Dr were on it!! also, Breann! She's so nice and has been so helpful as well! Thank you to Dr Wittgrove and his team for leading my health in a better direction!

I'm writing this review as the wife of one of Dr. Wittgrove's patients. Words can't express my gratitude to Dr. Wittgrove and Tracy for the care and compassion they gave to him and us. It is a scary surgery but they are so informative, educational, calming and there every step of the way. I was skeptical because surely the "right diet" would work, right? My husband was 57 when he had the surgery in 2016. Today he is in the best shape of his life, down 100 lbs that he has kept off, living an active lifestyle that previously didn't exist. He did a half marathon within 6 months and rode his bike from San Fran to San Diego raising money for charity. He has done it 4 times now. He wanted to be fitter at 60 than an 20. He succeeded. We are both forever grateful.

This man literally saved my life not once but twice! He knows what he's doing and his confidence makes you as the patient feel confident. If you are having bariatric surgery, be sure Dr Wittgrove is your surgeon!

This team of professionals has changed my life! 18 years ago I trusted Dr. Whittgrove to change my life from the inside out. It was the best decision then as it continues to be now. Even after a brief break from the practice, they welcomed me back with open arms. They have got me back on track and support me 100%. Dr. Wittgrove performed my GBS July 13, 1998. I weighed 276 the day of surgery. Today I weigh 162. I am 63 years young. I look and feel fabulous. The office was outstanding at getting insurance approval and all appointments set up. I live in another state so there was a lot of phone calls, faxing and mail. I did all my pre-ops and meeting Dr. Wittgrove for the first time on July 10th. When I met Dr. Wittgrove and his staff in person, I immediately knew I was in good hands. My surgery went perfect. Recovery was perfect. Five of my friends and/or family have since had surgery with Dr. Wittgrove. Dr. Wittgrove is very skilled as a surgeon. I had to have another surgery not related to my GBS. I traveled once again to have him perform it. Again everything went perfect. Dr. Wittgrove is extremely friendly, compassionate , never rushes me in a appointment, always has an answer to my questions. I continue to keep my yearly appointments with the good doc. I prefer to have my visits in person. It's like visiting a favorite Uncle every time. It's nice to see Tracy, the staff and the office fur baby. I highly recommend Dr. Wittgrove if you are interested in having weight loss surgery.

Dr. Wittgrove is the nicest, coolest and most AVAILABLE doctor I have ever come across in my 60 years of living. He makes all of his patience feel like family. Bariatric Surgery was the best thing I ever have done for myself and it absolutely saved my life. I am so grateful to Dr. Wittgrove, Tracy and all of the supportive and attentive staff at Wittgrove Bariatric Center for the quality of care I received while I was there before, during and after surgery. I met Dr. Wittgrove in 2018 for a consult. I had a major event and I ended up gaining weight, depression ( partly due to my appearance) , feet pain, back issues and was on the edge of becoming a diabetic. When we met he gave me options and spent TIME in TALKING with me and getting to know ME and wanted to know how I got to this place. He gave me information and explained everything clearly to me and made sure I knew the pros and cons of the procedure. Nothing but upfront and honest. I choose to have surgery and it SAVED MY LIFE....both physically and mentally. I lost 100lbs and I am 58 yrs old and am as healthy as I was in my 20's. The kindness, the compassion and they gave me and to every patient is amazing and you DON"T see that any more. They are with you from day 1 and never leave. They have a support group every month and I know no one else offers that and they give you so much information, resources........ if you need that extra push or just need someone to lean on they are right there. I can not ever repay them for all the care, love, and dedication they have given me to get my life back. I am so happy and each day I am out there biking, skiing, running, pickleball/tennis or whatever I want to do. I made a life style change and with the help of Dr. Wittgrove I plan to keep going for at least 40 more years !! :) Thank you Dr. Wittgrove and Tracy...your the best.

Dr. Wittgrove and his staff truly care about their patients! As a surgeon, he is the 'father of the laparoscopic gastric bypass' so he is definitely very skilled at what he does. If you are considering gastric bypass surgery, look no further, you have found the best. I had laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery 12+ years ago and have maintained my almost 100# weight loss and still feel better and healthier than I ever have! Not to mention the quality of life he has given me. As a doctor, Dr. Wittgrove is attentive and caring. He goes above and beyond for his patients. Dr. Wittgrove is still my 'go to' when I have ANY health issue. If it falls out of his 'realm' (which it often does) he is still just as concerned and helpful, pointing me in the right direction while still over seeing. I regularly still see the two doctors he has referred me to. I call them my healthcare 'trinity' and Dr. Wittgrove is the head. A few years ago, I needed a hysterectomy and Dr. Wittgrove even assisted! What a comfort it was to see him walk into the OR as I'm being prepped for surgery! As a person, Dr. Wittgrove is the kindest, most compassionate and genuine person I know. I am truly forever grateful for him. Thank you, Dr. Wittgrove for everything.
