Volunteering in here is waste of time. Did not get even interview for residency

Rafael from the  front desk is unprofessional and is very aggressive towards members and visitors .  Hes the first person you encounter in the morning when checking in and unfortunately hes the reason  Im giving this hospital 1 star.

I’ve been coming here since 2018 and my most recent visit I felt like I was taken care of very well. Marcus the RN at the emergency room is the most kind nurse that has ever taken care of me in my entire life. He was so nice and very professional. Thank you Marcus for taking care of me and thank you to all the nurses at PIH for working so hard. Your work doesn’t go unnoticed.

I have been to this ER twice this month. Both times including today no one has asked me why I am here no one has triaged me.The last time when I arrived I was asked to wait outside it was 15 minutes before someone came outside to triage me ask me what issue was and let me in. I expressed concern on this since I had passed out 20 minutes prior at home and was told “If I was that sick that I needed to see someone right away I should’ve called an ambulance.”I left after 2 hours without any vitals being taken and went to another ER.I came in again today due to losing consciousness and chest pain. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes for someone to ask my symptoms and why I was in the ER. Once they did my blood pressure was taken and it was 199143 and then realized I needed an EKG.There is a group of 4 nurses talking about weekend activities.

I had a procedure done the last week of October at PIH in Downey. From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I walked out I received excellent care. The hospital was clean and very well maintained. The security guard on site was friendly. The information desk was helpful. My doctor Dr. Kim addressed my visit questions and concerns. My anesthesiologist Dr. Nguyen was super sweet. Preop Nurse Aileen Procedure Nurse Mary R. Procedure Tech Santos and Recovery Nurses Myles and Regina were super awesome They were all very friendly and made me feel like I was in great hands I would very much recommend this hospital for anyone needing medical attention. Thank you again for making my visit as perfect as possible. I will never forget it

UPDATE 10302021This is an update to show respect and credit when its due. Yesterday was my second visit to the ER within the last 2 weeks. To say that i was surprised its an understatement. I was blown away by the compassion respect professionalism and care i was treated with from the moment I arrived to the moment i left. The whole hospital has been renovated and its amazingly clean and organized. The wait times are very short and they care about how you feel and start to work on it right away. All staff was very professional and courteous from doctors to nurses to assistants technicians from every single department are on top of their duties all whilst making their best to take care of you and comfort you. This place has done a complete 180 and i am happy and thankful for everyone who took care of me and made me feel better.Great job and thank youHonestly speaking this place is a joke if you thought that the old Downey hospital was already bad now that PIH took over this place is horrible in every single aspect I acknowledge that nurses techs and care partners are just doing their job and can only do much but this place is rotten from management down... Stay away from this hospital specially their emergency department...

Dr. Bill Kim and Dr. MH Nguyen were amazing. Aileen Nel Haidee Santos Mary and Rosie and Sarah were a rock star team. Great bed side manners Highly recommend

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL...I had minor surgery and need a follow up appointment and now that im trying to get the Dr information to set up a follow up appointment no one can help me. I call 5 different times and the information i got was incorrect and the operator was rude and hung up on me. I am in a lot of pain and they dont seem to care. Please go elsewhere. Bad HOSPITAL
