Volunteering in here is waste of time. Did not get even interview for residency
I’ve been coming here since 2018 and my most recent visit I felt like I was taken care of very well. Marcus the RN at the emergency room is the most kind nurse that has ever taken care of me in my entire life. He was so nice and very professional. Thank you Marcus for taking care of me and thank you to all the nurses at PIH for working so hard. Your work doesn’t go unnoticed.
I have been to this ER twice this month. Both times including today), no one has asked me why I am here, no one has triaged me.The last time when I arrived I was asked to wait outside, it was 15 minutes before someone came outside to triage me/ ask me what issue was, and let me in. I expressed concern on this since I had passed out 20 minutes prior at home and was told “If I was that sick that I needed to see someone right away, I should’ve called an ambulance.”I left after 2 hours without any vitals being taken and went to another ER.I came in again today, due to losing consciousness and chest pain. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes for someone to ask my symptoms and why I was in the ER. Once, they did my blood pressure was taken and it was 199/143 and then realized I needed an EKG.There is a group of 4 nurses talking about weekend activities.
UPDATE 10/30/2021This is an update to show respect and credit when it's due. Yesterday was my second visit to the ER within the last 2 weeks. To say that i was surprised it's an understatement. I was blown away by the compassion, respect, professionalism and care i was treated with from the moment I arrived to the moment i left. The whole hospital has been renovated and it's amazingly clean and organized. The wait times are very short and they care about how you feel and start to work on it right away. All staff was very professional and courteous, from doctors, to nurses, to assistants, technicians, from every single department are on top of their duties all whilst making their best to take care of you and comfort you. This place has done a complete 180 and i am happy and thankful for everyone who took care of me and made me feel better.Great job and thank you!!!--------------------------------------------------------------------------Honestly speaking this place is a joke, if you thought that the old Downey hospital was already bad, now that PIH took over this place is horrible, in every single aspect, I acknowledge that nurses, techs and care partners are just doing their job and can only do much, but this place is rotten from management down... Stay away from this hospital specially their emergency department...
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL...I had minor surgery and need a follow up appointment and now that im trying to get the Dr information to set up a follow up appointment no one can help me. I call 5 different times and the information i got was incorrect and the operator was rude and hung up on me. I am in a lot of pain and they dont seem to care. Please go elsewhere. Bad HOSPITAL
Today I had a procedure with Dr. Ratrgard in outpatient. The team was very professional, profecient, and very comforting. Nel and Ju Hee were attentive to all my concerns and helped to calm my fears. Bryan and Jeanette were great in the OR. Dr. Chao gave me great anesthesia. Mary and Sarah helped everything go smoothly in the recovery. Dr. Rastegard was very informative and patient. The overall staff was great. I highly recommend coming here.
I was in for a night stay following surgery. I was treated well. I rang for assistance during the night and someone showed up every time. I have no complaints.
My mother has been living with severe rheumatoid arthritis for a few years now. This week she had hip replacement surgery at PIH Downey Hospital and I can honestly say the nursing staff, specifically Mary and Carina in Outpatient Surgery, went above and beyond to make the surgery happen. The personal care and concern they showed for my mother helped reduce the stress and anxiety of the surgery for both her and I. I also want to give a special thank you to Dr. Shah, the Orthopedic Surgeon who performed the operation. It is evident that he genuinely cares for his patients and wants nothing more than to improve their quality of life. He has definitely accomplished this with my mother! She is now virtually pain free and her outlook on life is now a more positive one.
Very polite and respectful ladies working in the kitchen.Always very nice when I see them outside the building
Rated this only because i been in ER 3hrs b4 getting vitals checked, im high risk, have been vaccinated, after seeing nurse and telling me its gonna be a long wait again i asked if i could wait in my car instead inside they said yes just tell the guard mind you im in handicap parking 3 cars back, this 50 year old long curly black haired Hispanic lady security guard told me "i dont know why they told you that im not going to your car or telling you if they call you, i pray like hell i dont catch COVID in here and this faculty need to work as a team and remember the patient is the priority not their laziness.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
