Great hospital and staff. Security is great to get in. I read reviews and know that city of hope has a difficult job.. patients are desperate for a miracle and encouraging help but it’s not always possible and then the patient and family are upset. It’s a unavoidable situation. Sorrow is great In what they try to do. Families are always going to be upset. It’s a great institution.

Thank you for your excellent care and fast results.I was told possible mastetic breast cancer in lungs,my new oncologist acted fast,ran all necessary tests,pet scan,lung needle biopsy.Dr Ketireddy.Thank you bc of you and your fast care I'm not diagnosed with cancer.I could not wait till after first of the year for test.BC cancer waits for No One. She imediately scheduled all appointments. Everyone at COH treated me like family.So much care and love,concern for me. Thank you,again COH. Being a 4 time cancer survivor (Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma), I can't thank City of Hope enough everything for me, and of course, Dr. Alex Herrera. If it wasn't for him and not giving up on me, I wouldn't be alive today. Thank you for everything for everything you have done and still do for me. 💚

MY name it Tan Phung ,As a cancer patient, one can often feel quite overwhelmed and vulnerable. However, finding myself under the care of Nurse Emily Boettcher at the City of Hope in Duarte, was a silver lining in a rather dark cloud. Nurse Emily is more than just a medical professional. She is a beacon of compassion and kindness. It's rare to find someone as dedicated and empathetic as Emily, she made sure that I felt heard, cared for, and valued. Her friendly demeanor always manages to lift my spirits, even on the toughest of day. Emily treats every patient as if they were her own family member. She invests her time in understanding our individual needs and preferences, and she goes above and beyond to accommodate them, ensuring we are comfortable. Despite the immense pressures of her job, she never lets her concern for her patients waver, showing us immense care and attention at all times. Her ability to be both professional and personable makes her truly unique. Emily is not just my nurse; she's an ally in my fight against cancer. Her unwavering support and relentless commitment to my wellbeing have been invaluable throughout my journey. In my eyes, Emily is the embodiment of the spirit of City of Hope – bringing hope, warmth, and light to the lives of the patients she cares for. I feel truly grateful to be under her care. Dr Andreas Kaiser performed unnecessary surgery on me!!!!! He had been advised numerous times, including just before I was wheeled into my colonoscopy, that I had been on a Homeopathic protocol to cure my Crohn's disease, and that, if he found that my Crohn's was gone or greatly reduced, that I wanted the fistula drain removed, and no more drains or cutting. It has now been confirmed by my Gastroenterologist and my new Colorectal surgeon that there was "no evidence of Crohn's in my colon!!!!! Dr. Kaiser saw the same colonoscopy, but cut my left buttocks to shreds anyway!!! Dr. Kaiser may be a good technical surgeon, but he's NOT a good doctor!!! Larry Kantor, Tarzana

I am giving Dr. Kaiser from City of Hope a shining 5-star review. I am beyond grateful for the successful surgery he and his team performed on me in February of 2023. The first time I met with dr. Kaiser, I had little hope regarding my situation. I had been to three other doctors that wanted to remove my Colon, my Prostate, and my Bladder, as well as keeping my Colostomy bag on for life. While meeting Dr. Kaiser, I explained to him that I had been greatly compromised with the Colostomy bag and that I didn't want my Colon, Bladder, or Prostate removed. I also wanted my Colostomy bag to be gone for good. Dr. Kaiser looked at me very seriously and said, "I want to give you your lifestyle back and I believe I can do everything you're requesting, if things go as planned." The first thing Dr. Kaiser did was go through all of my scans and showed me everything in such descriptive detail; this was the first time in over a year that a Doctor had shown me any scan. He was the first Doctor to actually give me hope and execute on his promises. When I walked out of his office, I knew he was the only surgeon for me. He was the only one I would trust and I can say, gratefully, that Dr. Kaiser delivered on all of his promises. My operation was over 9 hours and Dr. Kaiser worked tirelessly, along with Dr. Chan, the Urologist, to save my Colon, Prostate, and Bladder. There were zero complications from Dr. Kaiser, my cancer was removed, and now I'm scheduling my final surgery with Dr. Kaiser to have my Colostomy bag removed. I can't thank Dr. Kaiser and his team enough for the miracles they have performed. He has changed my life for the better. I'm eternally grateful for all of his knowledge and hard work. Very disappointed in this facility! My father is suffering with leukemia and this place has basically given up on my father! They are stating he is too old for a donor which is a lie. I have seen patients receive donors at his age and it was a success. He has been admitted in ICU more times going here than he has under any other doctor or facility. I am very disappointed in Dr. ball with not having more empathy when dealing with patients. Please do better.
