Dr Engel is the most personable and thorough doctor. He actually listens to what you have to say and is very attentive. The staff in Redwood City is very caring and trained in this field as well!

I am a patient of Dr. Gregory Engel, and my experience with him has been very, very positive. I had a so-so experience with a cardiologist a few years ago re: my AFib. He walked through the door with prescription pad in hand and wanted to start me on heavy duty anticoagulants without really diagnosing my condition. Uh... no. My AFib was asymptomatic and I wanted to start a less aggressive treatment plan. Two weeks later, I received a letter from the so-so cardiologist referring me back to the clinic. During a routine physical exam (a couple of years following the so-so cardiologist), my primary care physician strongly urged me to see Dr. Engel re: my asymptomatic but untreated AFib. That was great advice. I met Dr. Engel via a video visit about a year ago due to COVID-19 protocols. He impressed me with knowledge of my circumstances... he had done his homework... then he set up a series of tests and diagnostics to evaluate my condition. Dr. Engel is personable, relaxed and he instills confidence by setting up a treatment plan with the patient fully involved. My situation was complicated by a couple of other unrelated medical problems including what turned out to be a malignancy in the left side of my thyroid. Dr. Engel coordinated the sequencing of a couple of OR biopsies, cardioversion attempts, and thyroid surgery while treating my AFib. Now, that my thyroid surgery has been completed, AFib is back to being my No. 1 medical issue. Maybe this sounds like routine doctoring to some, but Dr. Engel, IMO, has been the driving force in treating my multiple medical problems. His ultimate concern is providing the best possible care that he can deliver... and this is clearly evident in the attention he gives every detail that can affect a patient's well being. While I still have a way to go... another cardioversion attempt next month... I have the greatest confidence in Dr. Engel. I heartily recommend him to anyone who needs the expert treatment of a cardiologist... he is a true professional.

Dr. Engel is a top-notch cardiologist and electrophysiology specialist who I wish I had found much earlier. Can't recommend him highly enough.

I am very comfortable with Dr. Engel's assessments and commitment to me as a patient. He takes time to respond to questions and his explanations and communication are very clear, detailed and understandable in layman terms.

Dr Engel was seen for 2nd opinion. He had reviewed my extensive work up prior to introducing himself and was fully informed about all rests and their relevance. I appreciated his advice and invitation to consult with him by phone if needed.

An amazing Doctor that will make you feel like you hit the lottery in finding him. I am not an easy sell on Doctors. In fact, my standards might be a little unfair. Having said that, I would have to say that I was knocked out by Dr. Engel and his staff. Shear professionalism and commitment. Being that the mind/body experience is indisputable, feeling like you have a true partner in your health care is imperative. Dr. Engel makes you feel like a family member. My experience was remarkable. I hope you're lucky enough to get in.

A remarkable Doctor. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have found him. He was up to date on my ailment to a place that no other doctor had explained. He handled my problem directly and expediently. No more dancing around. Aren't we all looking for that? Great staff too!
