David Lehman's Online Review Report Card

Came in to see me as I’m admitted to grossmont hospital. He said he was going to make changes to my medication and then refused afterwards. He won’t even come in and talk to me and tell me why. This is the worse dr I’ve ever had.

Dr Lehman is one of the best that I have ever experienced, he's a good listener, diagnose very acuratly, he cares very much about your success in you getting treated properly, and in my openion, he is the best of the best.

DR. LEHMAN RESPONDED TO MY HUSBANDS URGENT MEDICAL NEEDS, ORDERED THE CORRECT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND CALLED IN SPECIALIST. DR. LEHMAN CAME INTO MY HUSBAND'S HOSPITAL ROOM EVERY DAY FOR 3 MONTHS TO CHECK ON HIM AND BROUGHT TEST RESULTS TO COMPARE WITH THE LAST.ONES. HE KEPT US FULLY AWARE. I KNEW MY HUSBAND WAS IN GOOD HANDS WITH DR. LEHMAN. THAT WAS VERY REASSURING FOR US AND OUR FAMILY. I HAVE THANKED GOD FOR HIM AND HIS SPECIAL CARE AND CARING.

I have been a patient of Dr Lehman's since 1981 when I was 23 years old and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Dr Lehman worked with other specialists for two years to rule out any other autoimmune disorders that could have caused my symptoms (such as lupus, scleroderma, fibromyalgia, Reynaud's). It took many lab tests, biopsies, and close monitoring over a three-year period to diagnose this disease which can present in a relapsing/remitting pattern. It is a difficult disease for those around you to understand because you can have many "good days" and then wake up one morning feeling like you just got hit by a bus. Dr Lehman was always "patient with this patient," and he is the one person you can talk to about this disease who truly understands how it makes you feel. He worked tirelessly to come up the right "cocktail" of medications that helped alleviate and control my symptoms. In addition to his rheumatology specialty, Dr Lehman is an excellent internal medicine physician. He spends a lot of time with his patients which can sometimes cause a wait, but when it's your turn, he spends as much time as you need. It is not uncommon to receive after-hour calls from Dr Lehman to review lab and other test results with you. It was disheartening to read the recent comment by an elderly patient who complained about Dr Lehman not caring for his older patients, some of whom are confined to nursing homes. Many times during my appts with Dr Lehman, he is on call at all times for his inpatients, and he will always take urgent calls from the nurses and doctors at the care facilities. I don't ever mind if he pauses our appt time to care for his elderly patients or others who are hospitalized, because that could be me someday ... Or you. It is reassuring to know that if you're ever an inpatient, you can take comfort in knowing that your personal physician, Dr Lehman, is only a phone call away. I can't say enough good things about Dr Lehman. When you enter his office, it is like a museum filled with gifts given to him by his many patients over the years. They're everywhere! His walls are covered with photos of him with is patients, letters of appreciation, poetry written for and about him -- all of these trinkets are testimonials and affirmations of love that Dr Lehman's patients have for him. I am so lucky to have found him at a time in my life when I didn't know what the heck was causing my hands and other joints to swell. I can never convey enough appreciation to Dr Lehman!

Dr. Lehman is absolutely wonderful! He is the most compassionate man and cares so much about the whole person and everything one has to go through while being sick. I actually look forward to my appointments with him. We talk about everything and he listens! It is definitely a rare thing these days to find a Dr. that makes you feel like you matter! Thank you Dr. Lehman.

Whoever wrote the review about his dealing with the elderly - well they are wrong wrong wrong. Dr. Lehman is the most caring Dr., I have ever come across. He truly does care for his patients and I have been in his care for almost 12 years and could not be more content. The office staff are terrific also...I now have sent 2 of my family to him and they are as satisfied as I am........whomever said those unkind words about the elderly should think again....because they are wrong...and I am one of those elderly patientslll

From the first few minutes of my first visit made me feel that I was in the best hands possible. He has a great bedside manner which to me is one of the most important talents a Dr., can have. I would not trade him for anyone else. HE IS THE BEST.....AND VERY VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE.....if you are lucky enough to become his patient than thank your lucky stars...

His bedside manner to seniors expecially is very cold and insensative it is terrible. Very rude, offensive...He treats elders (very old seniors) like they are 2nd class people.And GOD BE IT KNOWN that if the family is not in the area and have their Father, Mother, Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent under his care with no one to stand up for them! My heart goes out to these elder seniors. Health care takers, nurses, aids, medical personal...Enough is enough...This be quiet policy...Has to stop! The elderly deserve the best care they can get. All he cares about is how much money he can collect from the insurance companies and his pocket...Get them in get them out is his policy! No one will know and no one will care... For they are old. He should be forced to retire per the medical board he has enough formal legal issues associated with him. I believe in God and Carma.

Dr. Lehman is the most outstanding doctor I have ever met, and his patients all rave about his thoughtfulness, empathy and incredible expertise! He has saved my life many times, and I am so grateful.
