List of El Cerrito Hand Therapy & Acupuncture Rehab's Reviews
My therapist Kat tried very hard to help me but mine was a difficult case because I had major problems with my neck and that was what was actually causing the majority of my arm and hand issues. I had a two level ACDF (fusion) surgery to address two herniated disks, a bone spur removal and a rare birth defect I had in my neck. I have been seeing lots of improvement since then. The biggest issue with the office is their mishandling of insurance matters. They use a company on the East Coast to process all of the insurance billing and that company repeatedly made mistakes. They did not properly input my insurance card info when I first started there. Eventually (after being personally blamed) it got resolved once I had Accolade our third part insurance advocate let them know the fault was theirs and not mine. Things were going great and then suddenly the front office staff said that instead of having me pay my co-pay by credit card each visit they were told by their billing company that they wanted to bill me directly instead. The bills never came in the mail. I told the front office staff I wasn't receiving bills, and I asked if I could instead just pay by credit card each visit since that was my strong preference. I was told I could not. I figured I would eventually get a final bill in the mail at least. A month went by and I never got the bill. Then I completely forgot about the whole thing. Until I just recently got contacted by a Claims Collection Agency! I never once got a phone call, an email, a letter -- anything from the actual office or their billing services company on the East Coast. ZERO correspondence and then they just sent it to a collection agency. That is HORRIBLE customer service in my opinion. I would probably go there again if needed because I think Kat is great. But watch out for a headache with insurance matters. I heard people calling on the phone and saw people in person also struggling over bureaucratic billing issues.
I have very mixed reviews at this establishment. I find the front office to be very rude from the very beginning. I ignored that because I really liked my hand therapist. I found the door locked on multiple appointments. Most recently I waited 15 minutes and left. This resulted in inconsistent therapy. Most of my appointments were only 20 minutes long. Time to find a new place.
This place is a total rip-off. They will message you and mail you four years after seeing them trying to charge you for therapy sessions. Total thieves, I do not recommend this business go elsewhere.
I have had occasion to use El Cerrito Hand Therapy over the years (my wife and my daughter have also had PT here) and my most recent experience was because of ongoing arthritic pains in both wrists, hands and thumbs. While I can 100% recommend *all* the therapists here, my special thanks goes out to Katarina Kantor. She is just amazing: soft spoken, gentle and all the while being professional and thorough in her treatment plans and care. Kat provided graduated steps to get my hands back to not simply functional, but pain free. I cannot say enough positive things about Kat. The entire staff, including the wonderful front desk staff (thank you Katie for always having a smile!) are welcoming, friendly and they really care about you as a patient and client. So, if you are looking for a physical/occupational therapy team for your hands or arms and are in the East Bay, this is your spot.
They save me. Susan and the other therapists have helped my hands on several occasions
Thanks to Ryan and El cerrito Hand Therapy for their expertise improving my trigger finger issue. I learned a lot how to live with my issue and even improve it through daily living tips
I love this practice! It's so hard to find a hand therapy office and coupled with acupuncture - wow! First, the front office ladies are incredibly competent, courteous and just on the ball. I always look forward to interacting with them. Susan is the fabulous lady that treats me for hand therapy as well as acupuncture. She is so knowledgeable, employing the latest tools and techniques to help you recover and regain use of your hand as quickly as possible. Mine had been problematic (trigger finger, inflammation and stiffness) for over a year before I sought her help (we had moved and I didn't want to drag myself back to the city to see my old hand therapist). My mom also had hand therapy with Susan for a few months when I started - she has recovered well and has full use of her hand. Now what I really love is Susan's acupuncture. Not only does she treat my hand, she treats my overall health (I was suffering from Vertigo and I have a chronic condition that needs to be monitored and controlled). My health has improved 1000% because of her acupuncture. The proof is the results of my labs from my doctor - he was impressed and encouraged me to keep it going (which I am). I am not new to acupuncture so I can tell who knows what they are doing. Susan listens - the main reason for my success. It's not what she thinks is best, it's what I need and feel. Her technique with the needles is incredible - the feet are so sensitive and when Susan puts the needles in my feet, I hardly feel them go in. If you are looking for a highly competent hand therapist and/or an acupuncturist that is just so phenomenal, I strongly urge you to give them a try. Highly, highly recommend!
Susan and her team helped me rehab after wrist surgery. She was patient, always encouraging, and knew exactly how to give me my mobility back. In prior experiences I used to dread going to PT, but not with Susan and team -- I always looked forward to her help keeping me on track and moving me forward. Sad to "graduate" but can't recommend highly enough. Thank you, Susan!
They seem to be very good. They are successfully helping me to rehabilitate my hand after a broken wrist. Thank you!
Excellent, professional clinic. Susan, the owner, has helped me make the most progress on my broken wrist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
