List of Todd Shrader's Reviews
It has been a little over 1 year since I had the robotic full knee replacement (Makoplasty) surgery with Dr Shrader at Little Company of Mary Hospital. I was able to begin walking later in the afternoon after the surgery and discharged the next day. My rapid recovery included about 3 months of PT sessions (be prepared to work but worth it!) with Stacy Kim at Select Physical Therapy LA. I was able to start hitting tennis ground strokes and resume playing tennis a little over 3 months after the surgery. I am back playing tennis full time without any issues. Dr Shrader did an excellent job with the prep, knee replacement surgery, and postop support.
Had my hip replaced four years ago and have been hiking and biking on it without a care. Wonderful job, wonderful doctor, wonderful staff.
Tried to go see Dr Shrader since I had gotten a recommendation that he would be good for a knee problem consultation. I had gotten an approval through Anthem Blue Cross to go to an out of network provider. When I tried to make an appointment I first got a denial to set an appointment since it was out of my Ins. network. I then did a conference call with the Ins Co. and the Drs office. Anthem explained how they could approve the PPO rate for this and would reimburse through their PPO contract with the Drs office. Dr Shraders office then used an excuse that they have not been paid in the past by Blue Cross on specially authorized situations and would not agree to provide services. The Anthem Rep stated that in rare occasions a claim could be denied, but he had never heard of a proper claim to go unpai aftre proper submission and appeal if needed.. So, either the Ins Co is lying about paying all proper claims, or Shraders office is making an excuse not to see certain patients and lying about not being paid in the situation explained by Anthem Rep. From the quick dismissal and demeanor of Dr Shrader office staff, I tend to believe the insurance Co. So, I would think twice about going to them, if you care about Ins. reimbursements, since it seems they are not fully truthful about billing issues. He may be a truly excellent doctor, so may be worth the risk. These procedures can get pretty expensive though, so could be a big risk.
4 years after my knee replacement I had major pain; it was getting to the point where I couldn't walk...long story short, had to have a revision which was done by Dr. Todd Shrader. My knee has not felt this good in 5 years! He did an awesome job. Would recommend him to anyone!!
Dr Todd A Shrader is a great doctor, kind, professional and has performed surgery on both of my shoulders as a result of high school and college football injuries. Thankful to have such an experienced dr who helped get my health back on track after years of being in pain. Highly recommend Dr Shrader.
Absolutely the best. Had two knee operations; one being a partial knee replacement. Changed my life.
If I could give this man more stars, I would. I had a total knee replacement with him. He performed the procedure with a minimally invasive approach and saved my muscle. I have excellent flexion and extension. At 3 weeks post op, I was able to walk 1.4 miles. I was slow, but I did it. My scar is barely visible. People are shocked when I point it out. On top of being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Shrader has wonderful bedside manner. At every appointment he would explain everything in easy to understand terms, and then he would sit back and invite questions. I never ever felt rushed. He made me feel like the most important patient in the world. I would recommend using physical therapy that is connected to his office. They have easy access to him if any problems occur. Also, if you have the choice. I would recommend Torrance Medical Center for the procedure.
Fantastic - GreatI have been working with Dr. Shrader for years now, he is our family Ortho. He has worked on my husband, and me. He did my husband's arm and saved it, and he did my rotator cuff after another doctor did it wrong and I wasted a year recuperating for nothing. When Dr. Shrader redid my rotator cuff, it got 100% better and it took exactly 12 weeks as he said.My husband fell and shattered his arm, an Dr. Shrader nursed him back without surgery and saved his arm to be functional.
Wasnt expecting this. It was like going down an assembly line. Typical medical surgery facility where the staff is impersonal and all about getting you set up for a doctors exam. I get it that it is a large facility but a little bit of warmth extended to patients and potential patients never hurt. I went for an initial consult which was at 10:20. I filled out all insurance and medical paperwork in 5 minutes but wait time was a good 45 minutes. When I got into an exam room, the nurse/doctor assistant asks me if I had Xrays done. I stated I didnt and she informs me I need Xrays done first. I came in for an initial consult for pain in my right knee. Why would I need Xrays when clearly I didnt break any bones. When I told her that, the attitude just went up because I said I wanted the doctor to make the assessment first. She then proceeded to say that Xrays are SOP and it would be ordered anyways. I refused and said I wanted to speak to the doctor first and she became a bit hostile in her tone, which I did not appreciate. Dr. MaGovern though was very professional and apologetic for the wait. He did an assessment and as I expected did not need an Xray. Id give the doctor 5 stars with his bedside manners but no stars to the staff. Im going back there in 3 weeks but I really am putting a lot of thought to that.
Dr. Shader and his entire team are terrific, efficient and professional. He replaced my right hip in July, and the entire process from preop to postop followup and physical therapy was smooth and easy. Other health professionals, when you mention Dr. Shader, all say oh, hes the best. I agree! So much so that I am going back to him for my left hip replacement.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
