List of Ben Littlejohn Iii's Reviews
Receptionist / Clerks are not professional and super rude in person and on the phone. They all need to be replaced
I had a visit at Doctor Littlejohns Office recently. He has been my Primary Care Physician off and on for about 10 years now. In this visit I was seen by Dr. Littlejohn for about 30 minutes and he was as caring and professional as they come. The Doctors office staff is always friendly, too. Dr. Littlejohn is always assertive with his diagnostics, prescriptions and referrals. I trust him a ton and multiple people in my family all see him for our medical needs. Thank you Dr. Littlejohn for making my medical visits ] less stressful than they used to be you are much appreciated.
Dr. Ben has been my primary Doctor for years. He always takes time to explain lab results and has a great bed side manner. Advised me through a very difficult period with compassion and factual advice. As someone from the LGBTQ community his guidance and knowledge was greatly appreciated.
Dr. Littlejohn has been my primary doctor for several years, at least 8 years. Ive had Kaiser which I absolutely hated because I had no true connection with my doctors and I felt like a number. Dr. Littlejohn has an old soul but with modern medicine/practice. Hes always made me feel comfortable and has referred me to great specialist.
Dr Littlejohn is the absolute best! He went above and beyond to help with my shoulder when it was acting up. He also is an excellent Dr for my primary care as well. I highly recommend Dr Littlejohn and will refer him to anyone looking for a great Dr!

Worst doctor in the Bay. I work in the health care industry, and I can promise you that this is not anywhere near what standard of care should be.I had an appointment with Dr Littlejohn to set him up as my primary care. I was kept waiting for over an hour, which on its own isnt that unusual for some doctors offices, but from the room where theyd set me up I could literally hear Dr Littlejohn shooting the breeze with someone across the hall. At first I thought his chit chatting with someone else was just good bedside manner, but after listening to them talking about vacations and sports for over 45 minutes I began to think he actually just wasnt prioritizing his schedule of appointments.I asked one of the staff members when I could expect to see Dr Littlejohn because I had a nursing baby at home who I had to return to soon. She went and spoke with him, and I listened to him continue to hang out with the other patient for another 15 minutes before coming to see me. Not a great start. He was friendly at first, asked me where I was from, etc. But once I told him I grew up in Uganda he said, Uganda! I thought about going to Uganda to pick myself out a wife, but my friend told me that all the women there are sluts and have AIDS. He said it clearly expecting me to laugh along with him. I responded, Thats a horrible thing to say, and he stopped smiling and took a defensive tone, saying, Thats just what my friend says, as if he shouldnt be expected to take any responsibility for it, even if he said it with a brand new patient who hes known for less than five minutes.I stuck out the visit because I needed a doctor to fulfill a prescription, but it was truly astonishing how many awful things he was able to say in a 20 minute interaction:He was racist towards Black folks: he told me a story about a past patient hed cared for whose Black husband was big, loud, aggressive, and really scary. He was racist towards Asian folks: told me another story about a cesarean operation he once had to perform with his little Asian anesthesiologist, just a great little guy. He was fatphobic: he went into grisly detail about that cesarean and how he had to dig through layers and layers of fat to get the baby out. Im sorry, WHAT does any of this have to do with doing intake for a new patient or refilling my prescription, and WHY is he violating patient privacy to tell me stories that only serve to illustrate the extent of his bigotry?!He also repeatedly cut me off (not with any subtlety, either, just talking right over me), and tried to explain to me how to do my job when I told him what my profession was.Even if it takes you ten more phone calls to find another provider whos accepting patients right now, it is so worth it to receive care from someone you can trust and isnt a jerk.TLDR: This guys racist, sexist, fatphobic, and rude. Run the other way.
[I updated my review to try to make it more appropriate because I was told that the review was flagged for being inappropriate. Im sorry. Its really hard to describe an experience of being harassed without saying anything inappropriate. The whole experience was inappropriateThats the point. Hopefully this version is better.]Dr. Littlejohn made inappropriate, harassing comments to me. I dont think he should be allowed to see patients anymore. For instance, I was wearing a longsleeved dress with a tight neck. He wanted to take my heartbeat. So he reached his hand under the bottom of my dress, and moved his hand up past my underwear, get to my chest and take my heartbeat. While his hand was passing my underwear, he said something to the effect of, You dont mind me reaching past your [censored word], do you? It was too late for me to say no because he was already doing it, so I just didnt answer. Then he complained that I was wearing the most inappropriate outfit ever for a doctors visit. (He meant that my heart was hard to reach because I had a longsleeved dress with a tight neck. But he could have asked me to change into a gown the way most doctors do!)Later, I mentioned that I am afraid of having blood taken. The reason is because I always faint when my blood is taken, and I hate fainting, because I always wake up scared and disoriented. But I didnt get around to explaining the reason to him. He told me that disliking having blood taken is all in my head. Then he made an analogy: He said something to the effect of, Its just like when girls complain that pap smears hurt. But those same girls are getting [censored word] by some random guy every night, and they dont complain about that hurting them. That upset me a lot because pap smears can hurt. He wouldnt know being a man. Well actually, he should know, because clearly multiple of his female patients have told him! And I dont think that the fact that a woman has consensually engaged in normal adult activities should mean she isnt allowed to speak up when someone hurts her. That is woman shaming. He also made some comment about how lucky my boyfriend was to have me. It is nice to be complimented. But I dont like being complimented in that type of way by my doctor because I want to be able to trust my doctor to think of me as a patient.
Avoid for any reason. Very unprofessional doctor, doesnt treat you with care/kind, starts talking about random unrelated and sexual situations from the past after he asked about my orientation. That is absolutely unacceptable. Forgets to call you back, forgets your paperwork and test results. He doesnt have a lab in his practice so you have to go around town trying to do your lab work in undesirables labs and then meet with him again, when it should should all be done in one stop at his facility. The receptionists and help staff are just as incompetent and unfriendly, they dont explain anything and even booked the wrong appointments. Do not recommend and will never come back. Doctors like these should not exist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
