List of MIchael Lewis's Reviews
Great doctor. When people say that experience matters, he is what theyre talking about. With 35 years of medical experience under his belt, he knows what hes doing. Moreover, he is proactive and caring. When I was in extreme discomfort 24/7 for over a week and was told by an NP to wait and see, I made an appointment with Dr. Lewis. He listened to me and immediately ordered a couple of tests and gave me a prescription to help with my discomfort, all the while telling me not to worry, and wed get to the bottom of the matter. Ive only seen him three times, but Ive left each appointment satisfied. And it doesnt hurt that he looks a bit like Einstein :)
Its rare to have a doctor that you actually enjoy seeing. Michael Lewis is such a Doctor. He is unpretentious, but extremely bright. He is an excellent diagnostician and has diagnosed problems that others missed. Dr. Lewis is very practical in his approach to medicine. I am pleased to have had him as my doctor for over a decade! I had an appointment today and it was so good to see him!
Really an exceptional doctor! Dr. Lewis has been my PC doctor for the past 2 years and has provided fantastic care. Hes extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain test results and treatments. Hes also just an incredibly nice person with a calm demeanor that makes me feel relaxed (in a stressful situation). Best PC doctor I have ever had!
I was looking for a new PC because mine, Dr. Pierette Lenore (over at Sutter) stopped practicing and I couldnt find a new location for her so I stopped getting physicals. I started seeing Dr. Lewis a couple of years ago because my schools medical insurance included a 1 year subscription to One Medical. One of my classmates was already going there and recommended it highly. The nurse practitioner that she told me to see ended up going on maternity leave and the only primary care physician available was Dr. Lewis. I guess it wast fate because he was exactly the kind of doctor I wanted. Finally a doctor who is as great as Dr. Lenore. Super caring and listens to what I want and what I need; theres no hassle, Im in and out in like 20 mins (the best!!!!). If you want a physician who listens, hes your guy.
Michael Lewis sets the gold standard of how a medical professional should interact and treat their patients. Hes patient, a great communicator and a genuine individual. Best experience Ive ever had with a Primary Care Physician. Happy to have him as a doctor and to have met him!
Dr. Lewis is a wonderful doctor. I have been his patient for over a decade. In that time, he has diagnosed a couple of conditions my previous doctor missed. He also lined up gall bladder surgery for me, when he saw that I was like a deer in the headlights when I heard surgery was needed.Dr. Lewis is a very bright manand a kind and empathetic man. Hes one of the finest medical practitioners Ive ever seen.
Dr. Lewis is always respectful and is efficient. Helped saved my tooth when I thought it wasnt possible. Thanks to Dr. Lewis I have a doctor who is reliable and is the highest of quality available to me at anytime I need!
I have seen Dr. Lewis for at least the past 20 years. He is, first and foremost, an excellent human being. He really cares and thats saying a lot considering the state of our health care system. And he happens to be a very experience and wellinformed general practitioner. He helped me through shingles, impacted ears, excess cholesterol and giardia. And he has always been prompt with my prescriptions. He gave me an invaluable referral to an orthopedic surgeon for a delicate neck operation. As Dr. Lewis predicted, the guy he recommended DID walk on water. As you can tell, I really like the guy. Love his short answers. For example, I asked him whats an easy way to lower my cholesterol?. He quiped, Cut the dairy.
Office extremely rude and uncaring. My husband is in extreme pain and the office refused to see him because he wasnt in the system even though he is a patient. The receptionist hung up on me when I tried to explain that he needed to be seen. We will never go back, which is sad because Dr. Lewis is a pretty good doctor.
I am a 64yearold woman, and I have seen Dr. Lewis as my primary care physician for probably about 25 years. In all those years Dr. Lewis has never seen me naked, which means he meets my standard of care. (Just kidding.) But its true that he never asks me to remove more clothing than is necessary to check my medical needs. As a young woman, male doctors frequently made me take off my clothes for no apparent reason other than their own entertainment. Luckily I think medical ethics are better nowadays, and Dr. Lewis exemplifies good medical ethics in this regard.Anyway, I, too, love Dr. Lewis. He does truly care about his patients. He takes time to explain test results, is personable, and has good people skills. He has a sense of humor and is very down to earth, as others have commented. He does sometimes seem a little rushed on routine visits (which doctors are not?), but when Ive had a serious medical problem he has always taken the time necessary to check it out thoroughly and talk me through the treatment options. He has helped me through several difficult diagnoses with compassion. Whenever he has given me a referral that did not work out he has given me an alternative that did work. I do not have problems with his staff. The wait time at his office has not been longer than at other medical practices I have used in the past. Since I have been seeing Dr. Lewis, my husband has also started seeing him and likes him. No complaints here. As for the online patient portal for this medical practice, answers sometimes take longer than I would like for routine matters, but when youre in trouble with a medical issue, the responses seem to be timely. Dr. Lewis also returns calls promptly. I would highly recommend him as a PCP.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
