Dr. Yan is an amazing and caring doctor. He is very responsive to messages, he takes time to explain things, and he listens to his patients.

I've been under the care of Dr. Yan over the last few months and he's been nothing short of outstanding. He's extremely caring and does everything with a sense of urgency. Might I add, he actually follows up when you request a call back to discuss your results. One of the best doctors I've personally come in contact with in the state of California. Thank you for the great deal of time, work, and effort that you contribute to your patients!

I was referred to Epic Care for stage 4 pancreatic cancer by my primary care physician. I chose Dr. Yan to be my oncologist because of his outstanding credentials and history of good results with his patients. I am very pleased with the choice I made. Dr. Yan took the time to explain the treatment options available to me, the possible side effects of each treatment option, and the percentage of the effectiveness of the chemotherapy. I chose a chemotherapy plan that we mutually agreed upon, and Dr. Yan expertly concocted the medications that treated my cancer. He was able to treat the complications of my chemotherapy so that I was able to complete my planned six cycle therapy with resultant regression of the tumors. All through our sessions together Dr. Yan was very supportive and kept me informed about the research and progress on immunotherapy. Dr. Yan started treating my lung cancer more than a month ago. The first time I met Dr. Yan, he clearly analyzed and explained in details the certainties and uncertainties based on my CT-scan report, and afterward came up with a practical treatment plan. Subsequently Dr. Yan arranged every necessary test, and once he got sufficient clues from the test results, he determined targeted therapies, which have been in progress and very effective in the last two weeks, I believe. I really appreciate that Dr. Yan is caring, patient, and considerate. He is always available via SMS to answer my questions on body conditions and medications etc. With Dr. Yan as my oncologist, I am feeling optimistic in future fight against my cancer.

Yes, Dr. Yan is definitely caring. I joked that he was stalking me throughout a 6 month cancer ordeal. However, IMHO he is too young/inexperienced not to be bullied by other MDs involved in cancer treatment. I felt a lot of his recommendations and late night phone calls were due to being harassed by other MDs because they stood to loose a customer if I did not adhere to the treatment plan they ALL were pushing. Surgeons make a lot of money when they cut you open! The main issue with his care was that I was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer without a biopsy or a CT/PET scan. AND, I was the one who ASKED for the CT/Pet scan. I'm a book keeper, not an MD, yet a few hours on Google meant I knew what SHOULD be happening during diagnostics. So the CT/Pet Scan was done, along with the biopsies. And, although the PT scan showed hot spots, there was no cancer. Yes, I am cancer free. And for anyone facing a catastrophic diagnosis, go directly to UCSF. They are tops in their field and, although the traffic is a bitch to deal with and it may take more of your time to drive there, this is your life, your organs, and your future that we're talking about.

I would recommend Dr. Yan. He is very attentive, friendly, and cares about the patient. He keeps on top of the treatments needed to maintain patient's health condition. He takes time to answer patient's questions. Overall friendly staff, clean office, and convenient appointment times. Love Dr. Yan, highly recommend him.
