List of Alex Mercandetti's Reviews
The staff was very nice, but the front office is a bit of a mess. I chose this doctor because I had tried to get appointments with several and they were the first that could see me. The first time I went as a new patient, I got there and they said they had no record of my appointment. Fortunately, someone had canceled and they were able to fit me in, but I had to wait like an hour to be seen. They were very apologetic. After that, they had me get skin tested, but the appointment had to be rescheduled 3x. The first two because the doctor had covid and the 3rd because the skin tester had covid. But when I went for the skin testing, I only saw the skin tester, so not really sure why the first two appointments had to be canceled when I didn't need to see the doctor anyway. Then I was supposed to have a follow up appointment. They told me when I scheduled it that they would prefer to do it online due to covid concerns and would send me the info on how to connect later. The day of, I still hadn't received any info on how to connect. Tried calling several times but couldn't reach the office. However, they did call me at the scheduled appointment time to get me set up. But it would have been nice to have this info beforehand so I wasn't left wondering what to do.
Dr. Mercandetti changed my life and I feel great!
This office is awful. They have called last minute (as in when I was on my way) to cancel my appointment (when I had already had a babysitter come over to watch my son), have failed to call me to schedule CT scan when they said they’d call in one week - had to call there to see what was going on & was told “oh we forgot, sorry.” The receptionist was not very friendly & talked back to me several times. The doctor acted like he doubted most things I was saying. Just super unprofessional office & one I will NOT be going back to. Totally worth looking for another pulmonologist before you go here, trust me.
Great “bedside manner”. He took time to explain my lung issues.
Excellent. Dr. Mercandetti has changed my life for the better. I breath and sleep like a baby!
Left a voicemail as a potential new patient twice with this office and they don't call back. Very unprofessional.
Post hours publicly or have someone better on the phones I called because my PCP referred me to see Dr. Mercandetti after I was hospitalized three weeks ago for a potentially life-threatening allergy that came out of nowhere. I said I was calling in for a referral from the PCP, the person who had answered cut me off and said the office was currently closed... not off to a good start here.
Great staff, great doctor to address your allergy concerns.
If you can get past the office not taking phone calls and only leaving a message on a voicemail to get an appointment, this doctor is great, once you get into see him. He spent a really long time with me taking notes and coming up with a treatment plan. Highly recommend.
Left a voicemail as a potential new patient twice with this office and they don't call back. Very unprofessional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
