Dr. Cunningham is 5 Stars all the way. She cares so much about my 6yo and I'm grateful we found her. The missing star is for her front desk clerk with medium length hair. She made no eye contact when attempting to check me in, spews out information at which I had no idea she was talking to me because she wasn't even looking at me, decides to ingore me, check in two more people who walk in afterwards, then refers to me as "that one" when she decided to pass me off to another clerk. Whatever protocol she is following when checking people in is absolute garbage. I understand validation is required, and this should be done, but there is never a need to treat me like a hobo who kidnapped a kid off the street and took him to his confirmed dermatologist appointment. Not sure how people like this get customer-facing jobs.

I would give zero stars if possible. PLEASE take the time to read this review. Per the recommendation of our Pediatrician, I made an appointment with Dr Cunningham for a mole check and another dermatological issue for my son. I am also a health care provider and had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate the appointment. The afternoon of the appointment they canceled with ZERO effort to accommodate us asap. So another month later, appointment day arrives. We apparently have the last appointment slot of the day...to my dismay the waiting room is SLAMMED!! To top it off we are expected to wear a mask (I'm not at all against wearing mask) but think it's ridiculous to pack a waiting room and office that full if you are uber concerned about covid protocols. Slightly limit patient volume or improve office flow. Now to the appointment. when dr Cunningham finally enters the treatment room and begins asking questions to my son (7) and half addressing me, she came off as very unfriendly, cold, and dismissive for my reason of visit. Even though this appointment was again per the recommendation of my highly valued pediatrician. Her attitude was very pompous and personally made me feel silly for bringing him in. And I understand these are my feelings but I couldn't have been more put off by a PEDIATRIC doctor. She belongs in a different field. So the end of the appointment is upon us, where she was very dismissive of my concerns about my sons moles...but then drops the bomb that we can cosmetically cut them off and that the "insurance will pay for that". My son is 7 with a mole slightly larger then the size of an eraser head...do you think he gives two shakes about a mole on his arm??? NO is the short answer. So cosmetically cutting into his arm where he would require stitches is a horrible solution. I just wanted to make sure it was benign and a specialist would have eyes on it moving forward. Her and her assistant basically walk out of the room at the end of the appointment and leave us wondering what we're supposed to do then. Stay or go?? When asked about a prescription she was going to write the doc has to chase her assistant down and then finally the nurse says she'll send it to the pharmacy on file. Did the ever send the prescription....NOSTAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE AND DOCTOR. They have horrible etiquette and bedside manner and significantly subpar quality of care. It's disappointing because this doc came recommended from someone I highly respect. I highly recommend seeking pediatric dermatology help elsewhere.

We took our 10 year old son to see Dr. Cunningham for his skin infection issue this year. Dr. Cunningham told us that he needed to take ACYCLOVIR 5ml per serve, 3 times per day for 7 days to treat the skin infection. Unfortunately, the office sent the wrong dosage (15ml per serve) to the pharmacy on the day. My son took three times more dosage in the weekend and experienced some side effects badly. Next Monday, we called the doctor's office and found out the error. The doctor insisted that she didn't do anything wrong and the 3 times more dosage is OK for my son. We complained the dosage issue and she threatened to kick us out from her system. That is a really bad experience. We will never visit her anymore.

Dr Cunningham is a wonderful doctor. Direct and straightforward. Accommodate patients time and very flexible with scared new moms like myself who are looking to get in fast. Thankful for her.

Coming to see Dr. Cunningham for 3rd time from Chula Vista for my toddler. We missed our exit and were 15min late. The doctor refused to see us and said that we will be charged for the visit even as we were refused to be seen by her. She was nice the first two visits but seemed in a lot of rush every time. By the way we always waited to be seen for a while, at least 30min but being late is unacceptable. I'm very disappointed and will not come back to this clinic.

I would avoid this place and be careful at all cost. In the beginning, they are super friendly and kind but they are a money scamming practice where they will bill erroneous charges to insurance companies. I've had previous experiences where a visit to look at my son's mole or hands will cost us at least $100 in addition to the insurance charge for another $100-200 as well but had let them go. This time around, I was hugely disappointed with how they handled the covid situation and making patients pay a ton of money without providing proper care. Dr. Cunningham had the audacity to call me back after I submitted to appeal my claim and threatened me and my family by saying we weren't welcomed back. She encourages BAD office behavior for her staff and only looks out to monetize her business without listening to her patients or bothering to hear our side of the story. Avoid this place, it will save you the mental and emotional stress. I should have listened to my gut when other reviewers on the comprehensive dermatology page mentioned their experience with payment and mischarges from this practice.

My son first saw Dr. Cunningham when he was just a few months old and she quickly ruled out a unique birth mark as benign where other doctors were puzzled. My son is 17 now and going through accutane treatments and Dr. Cunningham is still the best doctor around! She is the most personable and competent dermatologist in all of Southern California, probably the entire U.S. She also has top notch medical assistants. Worth waiting for an appointment! P.S. Get a few units of botox after your teen's appt- she is best botox injector around!

This office is awful! Three years ago I took my daughter there for a procedure which was scheduled, I was told by the office staff it was per-approved by my insurance and that I would only be paying the co-pay. The procedure date came,I paid my co-pay. A few months later I received a bill come to find out it was not a covered procedure that is was never verified by Dr. Cunningham's office staff at ALL. I went back in forth with them for a whole year. Now two years later they referred me to the worst collecting agency in the world Rash Curtis & Associates. They are harassing me at work, on my cell and by mail. For less then 1100$. Sad to hear this group is that hard up for 1100$ must be really hard times for them

Doctor Cunningham is the absolute best at what she does and I trust her implicitly. She is wonderful with kids, cautious without being alarmist, just great. As an added bonus, her office staff is so kind and accommodating and in more than one instance have helped me greatly when I needed it. I think in general having a great staff is under recognized and doctor Cunningham's staff really make her office even better.

My daughter has eczema on her face and after seeing 4 doctors with no success, a friend recommended Dr. Cunningham and she was fantastic. She listened to our concerns and prescribed medicine that actually worked. If you need a dermatologist, Dr. Cunningham is who you need to see.
