List of Brian A. Pedersen, Mbbs's Reviews
Dr Pedersen is an intelligent, thorough, kind soul and one could not ask for a better physician.
Absolutely the most frustrating doctor I’ve ever dealt with. Incredibly knowledgable and seems like a good person but multiple times has put me through an excruciating process at the VA that made me suffer with a lot of unnecessary extreme pain from arthritis. He refuses to refill my prescriptions when I need them which leads to delays, pain and suffering. I’ve explained this to him multiple times but he still gives me the worst, most excruciating healthcare process I’ve ever experienced. He’s even now forced me to go to the ER multiple times for this recurring issue, where the ER doctors also refused to give me medication since Dr. Pedersen refused. He truly prevents me from getting access to the healthcare I’ve earned.
Non-Productive Visit I have a long history of rheumatological disorders and abnormal lab test results. Since Dr.Pedersen would view only my most recent results, he was of no help whatsoever in finding a pattern (in order to diagnose). I will not be returning to this medical office.
Own agenda I posted a review several weeks ago which wasn’t posted. Let’s see if this one gets posted. Dr Pederson seemed very nice at first but when my thoughts on what was causing my pain had to do with the medication I was taking he quickly became a different doctor. He refused treatment unless I 1.) consulted with my oncologist or 2.) mad a decision on the spot whether or not to continue my treatment for cancer. Another sports medicine dr treated me with the same treatment AND my oncologist gave the ok for the treatment. Dr Pederson has his own agenda and didn’t like that my belief differed from his. Then on my after visit summary he made note that he didn’t give treatment because my cancer was worsening. That very day I had an appt with my oncologist and the results were quite opposite. My cancer is improving. I gave my review and filed a complaint with UCSD. They called me and asked me to call back to discuss. I called back but never heard back. Seems like they dropped the ball.
Best Rheumatologist I've Ever Seen Dr. Pedersen is an excellent rheumatologist. He is the first doctor who could help me with my condition. I've seen him for over 3 years and I can't imagine anyone giving him 1 star - he's the best I've ever seen. The appointments were never rushed, he always took time to answer all of my questions, and he always provided multiple options in terms of next steps. (It often takes a long time to work through the medications the insurance companies make you try first.)
Very smart
I really like this Dr. I was newly diagnosed as having Lupus SLE with Schrogens disease. He's smart he's caring and while there isn't much to be done for this condition, Dr. Pedersen did what he could. He told me what to avoid specifically sunlight he started me on plaquenil generic hrdroxychloriquine. I like him a lot.
Dr Pederson is kind and patient. Willing to put in the time to find the solution to the problem.
I have Sjogren's Syndrome. Saw Dr. Peterson once at UCSD and once at VA (I did not know he was who I had an appt with at the VA) and he told me both time I did not have Sjogren's and not to worry. I have been suffering unnecessarily for a year. He just sat in his chair and kept smiling not asking my my symptoms or anything. I would run so fast the other way.
Awesome Doctor He is very caring and patient I was diagnosed with RA after developing septic arthritis. Doctor Petersen has taken great care of me, throughout this difficult process. He is the best and I would recommend him to anyone needing a rheumatologist. He has been a blessing and I am glad he is my doctor ❤

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
