F Yturralde's Online Review Report Card

I worked with and trained under Dr. Yturralde during my medical residency. It was a pleasure learning from Dr. Y. He always has the desire to teach and break things down in an easy and comprehensible manner. I've also worked with Dr. Y on multiple research projects as he is well versed in medical literature and always coming up with new and innovative research questions to push the field of Cardiology forward. He is effective, efficient, and pushes you to be the best you can be both in and out of the hospital. He's very skilled and I'm grateful I was able to learn from such a great doc!

Being a new patient at 53 years old I was petrified at the thought of being a heart patient forever. Dr. Yturralde did my stents in 2015 and I have been his patient since. I’ve never had such a caring, nice, thoughtful doctor explain things to me and why they needed to be done. Anyone who treats with him will be very lucky to have him as your doctor. He’s awesome!

Dr.Fred Yturralde The best Doctor that i ever had

My mother has had to deal with him twice in the hospital. He has very poor bedside manner. The first time he was going to send her home after a heart attack and treat multiple blockages with medications. After calling the hospital myself and talking with the case worker she finally got transferred to another hospital and was able to get an additional stents put in. Second time which occurred on August 18,2020 he is not able to figure out what the medical condition is and is ready to send her home because he does not know what to do. Dr. Y does not communicate to the patient or the family and is does not consult with other doctors when he is not able to figure out the problem. He might be an intelligent person however I think he is a very poor doctor.

I was taken to the ER with chest pains where I met Dr. Yturralde in 2011. After undergoing numerous testing, he was quick to rule out that it wasn't my heart but discovered I was having an appendicitis attack. There were several other occasions where I had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Yturralde. He always explained what my symptoms meant and treated me with the utmost care and respect. I have complete and total confidence in his decisions and consider him to be one of the BEST and finest physicians in Sarasota. He will be dearly missed.

A big shout out and thank you to Dr. Fred Yturralde and his team at Heart Specialists of Sarasota for their tenacity in my time of need! They worked on me tirelessly to restore some working condition to my heart (with 15 resuscitations) when others would have not been blamed for giving up; they fought to save my life. Thanks to Dr. Yturralde and the team I was able to go home to my wife and kids after knocking on heaven’s door numerous times! Thank you to all of the amazing nurses, nurses assistants, and specialists for all of the amazing care during my weeks of recovery at the hospital, as well.

I have seen Dr. Yturralde for nearly ten years. He has always treated me as a patient with insight and impressive knowledge and as a person with care and understanding

Dr. Yturralde diagnosed my faulty Aortic Valve through an emergency angiogram. The next day I had an Aortic value replacement with some complications. The surgeon left a hanging lesion of tissue behind in the Aorta. Dr. Yturralde and the anesthesiologist through an ultrasound found the problem post surgery. He was responsible for getting the surgeon to return the next day and extract the lesion through a second surgical procedure. In other words he saved my life! If the tissue would have dislodged I would have had a massive stroke and died. I cannot recommend a physician more than he. Dr. Yturralde is a very active hands on cardiologist with a wealth of knowledge in his field. If you are located in his new practice area you should definitely choose him.

I was rushed to the ER by the paramedics while having a massive heart attack. Dr Yturralde was in the ER and saved my life with a procedure to unblock a vessel. Then I was rushed into surgery and had a quadruple bypass on Dr. Yturralde recommendation. It was called a widowmaker attack so thank God Dr. Yturralde was taking care of me. He is an awesome doctor and in all my follow up visits with him he has taken extra time to explain everything and answer all my questions. He is a great doctor and a super person and he always made me feel that he really cared about me as a patient and a person. I have total confidence in his advice.

Yes, I would recommend Dr. Yturralde as a cardiologist. While in his own practice, he was patient, would explain everything in layman's terms, and could spend time with you. There were no surprises. He explained the tests, the results and the follow up surgery necessary, etc. When he joined a team of cardiologists, it was apparent he wasn't going to be allowed the same environment in which to practice. Because I knew him and trusted his medical judgment I followed after him, but it wasn't the same as he had limited time with each patient. The unhappy staff made the atmosphere unfriendly, everyone was doing you a favor by allowing you into their practice. Now, he is leaving FL which makes me sad. But he will again be able to follow his path to providing quality medical attention to his patients.
