Jan Kulhanek's Online Review Report Card

I found Dr. Kulhanek to be professional and receptive. He answered all my questions and provided information in a simplified manner so I could understand. Because I had continuing issues with Afib and medicinal treatment wasn’t effective, he referred me to a specialist, Dr. Cohen. I had ablation surgery and I’m recovering well. I continue appointments with Dr. Kulhanek every few months.

The doctor was OK but horrific experience with the staff. Just plain rude and inconsiderate and incompetent people. Multiple reschedules without considering your urgency. They seem to forget they are dealing with heart patients. Rescheduled unanimously weeks and weeks later and multiple times and then asked not to, I was told - "you can always cancel". This is known as bullying and is extremely unprofessional. They should not be in business of caring for people's literal hearts.

Went through several heart tests. All came back normal. Dr. Kulhanek cleared me with strong and healthy heart. When asked to call or write my doctor a letter clearing me to take certain medications, he refuses to respond. Won't return my calls. Obviously covering his own butt, but he'll gladly take your money and charge your insurance high dollar bills for phone call appointments and procedure not performed. Filing an insurance fraud complaint. Worst experience ever!!!!

Dr. Kulhanek is competent, kind, and caring with a sense of humor! I was lucky he was my doctor when my LAD was 99% blocked!

Dr. Kulhanek, I was a past patient of Dr. Kulhanek, I have had multiple cardiologist due to my complexes heart issue, and always felt right with this Doctor. He took my case serious and was always available when emergencies arose. Dr. Kulhanek is compassionate and very caring. Due to recent Insurance changes I had to change insurances if time and affordability ever should allow I would be right back there again no questions. Scripps has some of the most top notch Physicians on the market.

I have seen Dr. Kulhanek a few times. Each time the office is running smoothly and on time. The front office staff are pleasant and helpful. I see them being respectful to all patients, even a sense of humor during stressful times. Dr. Kulhanek is a sincere, kind, caring person. He takes plenty of time to discuss the condition, the symptoms, the possible treatments that are available to a patient and then listens to the patient before prescribing best practices.

Dr Kulhanek is competent, caring, and reassuring

Dr. Kulhanek is detailed and analytical ,he is also very pleasant and it is easy to convey to him one's medical problem. Dr. Kulahnek made a detailed analysis of my chest pain which I had for about one and half years. He performed all necessary tests for a detailed conclusion of my chest problem. He then over a period of time provided the necessary medication to alleviate my problem. I highly recommend Dr. Kulahnek for cardiovascular needs.

My husband is unusually young for his condition so when he was first diagnosed in the hospital we knew very little and had a lot of questions. Dr. Kulhanek was kind, thorough and patient in answering all of our questions and very sympathetic to our situation. Now that my husband is out of the hospital and sees Dr. Kulhanek on a regular basis he continues to demonstrate his caring and spend as much time as required to answer our questions. Additionally, on occasion we have asked him to contact a 3rd family member, a retired doctor, to answer their questions which to our pleasant surprise he did agreeably and promptly. He has also been very supportive and proactive in making sure the other doctors, technicians, physical therapists and insurance company involved with my husband's care provide prompt and appropriate support and service. I am sorry for all who suffer from conditions which requires a cardiologist's care however be confident that if Dr. Kulhanek is your doctor you are in good hands.

I had a heart attack at midnight. Once at Scripps Hospital Encinitas, the emergency team, and Dr. Kulhanek and his team worked like mad-men. Fast... Very impressive. Dr. Kulhanek installed the stent, and my affected vessel went from 100% blocked to a fire hose. Symptomatic relief was immediate. Bottm-line, Dr. Kuhanek and his team saved my life. Enough said.
