My experience with Dr. Janki Patel was frustrating. I sought her help for a potential hemorrhoid issue but was recommended a colonoscopy, which I found excessive. After the procedure, her office did not follow up, and during my next visit, she changed her diagnosis abruptly. I consulted another doctor who found I didn't have a hemorrhoid, just a skin tab that could have been removed with a simple procedure. This misdiagnosis and unnecessary colonoscopy left me irritated and concerned about over-diagnosis for insurance reasons. I advise seeking a second opinion.

I was concerned about waking up during my colonoscopy and having memories of the procedure. I told the pre-op nurse about these concerns. She made a note of it, but nobody in the procedure room actually read her notes. I woke up during my colonoscopy. I was awake for everything. I saw everything on the screen. I told them I was awake. They did not care, nor did they put me back under. I let them know in my post-procedure survey about this and how it traumatized me and have received no response. I will never go there again.
