My experience is very disappointing. They wanted me to pay the highest possible costs for cataract's and then I decided to go to another eye doctor come to find out I don't have to and everything they did to scare me wasn't valid. Also, my new doctor requested records 3 times and they still haven't sent them. Don't use them. I Feel Like I went to the worst work up dr ever. Very disappointed Richard and Sally Crawford
I wish i can give negative stars... **** beware of getting cataract at this location**** you will loose you vision as they do HORRIBLE surgeries... very NEGLIGENT.... bad.... and when you decide to move to another doctor to correct the mess they have created, you will get a call from Dr Morris threatening you that if you go somewhere else you will loose your eye!!!! For crying out loud they have already compromised my vision. And when i asked for my records i got a run around chase.. . And when i finally got upset and called Dr Morris directly he practically shut me up rudely... had to sit in the office to obtain records. They are suppose to refund me for the lens and i got a letter saying they will not refund unless i go to then for the third time on the same eye surgery, which they messed up twice before.... stay away from them.... really bad team !!!!
Would never recommend this doctor! He blinded my dad years ago while going through glaucoma . He is awful and should not be in practice . I would give him a big fat zero but this yelp requires a minimum of a one star. RUN STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN!
I paid $561 for eyeglasses a month ago, Two weeks was supposed to be when I heard from them...nothing so far. Really? a month?

I have been going to Dr Butler at Morris Eye Group for 4 or more years. I truly like her. She is very professional. I had cataract surgery in both eyes and ever since have had 20 20 vision. I think they are wonderful doctors. I go every year.
My wife had a serious issue with glare after cataract surgery in one eye, and since the surgeon didn't help, we got a 2nd opinion.Dr. Morris immediately diagnosed the issue when he saw her and said a 30 second laser procedure would fix the glare. We had to wait an hour for the insurance to be OKed, then she had the procedure. Problem solved, no glare! (A wrinkle in the capsule behind the new lens was the issue.)Second issue - everything is a bit out of focus. As only one eye had the cataract surgery, Dr. Morris pointed out the two eyes have considerably different focal points & getting the other eye done would solve the issue. (Again, the original surgeon ignored this.) HUGE peace of mind knowing the problem will disappear when she has the 2nd cataract fixed.
Please don't go to this eye group. They will rip you off; my husband went in for a normal eye exam, they convince him that he has to go every year, knowing my insurance covers every two years unless your vision depth has changed; well he goes anyway because he says he needs a stronger prescription, then he comes home and shows me the bill. I said wtf we have insurance, he said they told him thats what he owed. I looked at our benefits, and called them. The rude front desk girl told me it was because he has pre glaucoma and so they bill my medical insurance and therefore he has to pay for the rest of the pocket for the contact fitting as if he has no insurance. I said um no. I wanted to speak with the manager Christisan but she said to wait a minute so she can go speak with him, she then came back to tell me he was on the phone. I said ill be there in five minutes. My husband and I arrived in 7 minutes, and she proceeded to tell me that Christisan went to lunch. WTF, anyway they went and got Fred, whom we happen to know, and he said that Christisan is at the Encinitas store, Im said to him that that moron of a front desk just said he left for lunch, so lie lie lie. That was the first mistake; fred then tried to calm the waters, by telling my husband the reason his visit was medical is because he has pre glaucoma. I said he came for a routine eye exam that is covered under our vision insurance, he then proceeded to tell me that they treat him under the medical insurance. I said no fn way, he wasn't being seen for pre glaucoma, and my vision insurance covers that exam. I said what does the comprehensive exam include, he said he didn't know, I said are you kidding you just give an exam not know what it covers. I then called the vision place and they told us what it covered and what we were to pay. Even with that call they continued to give me the bullshit runaround, and then I said, why was he not told of the pre glaucoma and sent to our Dr, or why wasn't he given any information about this when you found this 4 years ago, and we never knew, no paper work, no information about how this can effect the rest of your life, etc.... he then said well didn't you speak with the doctor about this. HELLLLLLLLOOOOOO!!! did you just hear us, we said we never knew of this. I then said this is not the problem, the problem is that we need to know how much my husband has been taken over the course of 9 years, and how much we have paid out of pocket. Not just us but others. I spoke with our medical insurance to let them know that they are double dipping, because get this, they bill my vision insurance for the exam, and then billed my medical insurance for the same exam. The vision insurance pays for dilation to see if you have glaucoma, why are you billing my medical insurance. SCAMMMMMMMMMMM!!! We were to hear from christian but to no avail. Then I get the billing statement from our vision insurance. The date is wrong, it does not show that they billed for the 10.00 co pay, it was then canceled, due to me saying that this was going to be a legal issue real quick; and yet to this day, no word from them. PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM RIP YOU OFF.
If it weren't for front office staff and the "opticians" I would give Morris Eye group 5 stars. I absolutely loved the tech that worked with my daughter and both doctors we saw were amazing! However while waiting in the lobby 2 of the "opticians" were having a personal conversation that my young daughter (and I) could clearly hear. They must not have been busy but to bad mouth a client and others in ear shot of other patients is so inappropriate and unprofessional. The "optician" who fit my daughter for her glasses continued her unprofessional behavior by saying things like "OH NO! Those do not look good on you!" when she would try different styles on. This should have been a super fun experience where my daughter could get excited to pick our her new glasses but when we wanted to see other styles it was clear that we were putting her out by not settling right away. I work in the optical industry (more on the sunglasses side) so I have industry knowledge. I asked a few questions about the frame materials and lenses and was given wrong answers. Not sure what the training process is for these positions but it seems to me like they need more classroom time. Its a shame to think of the bad info that is being given to the average person. When we picked up my girls glasses a week later the "optician" said they couldn't find or didn't have the case that comes with the brand we bought, so she offered us a generic case and an extra cleaning cloth as a substitute. This is frustrating as the case is part of what you are paying for when you buy these glasses so you should absolutely get the correct accessories. On the way home I was looking at the paperwork I was given with her glasses and it showed the power of her glasses at 4.00 when she was supposed to get 1.50. I called just be be sure we were given the correct prescription (as its my daughters eyes we are talking about) and the receptionist was super rude and dismissive of my questions. If she would have been nice and sounded like she knew what she was talking about I would have felt reassured and left it at that. Again, she gave me an inaccurate reason why the lenses were so thick. I asked for a copy of her order form so that I could feel comfortable that we really got what the doctor prescribed, this clearly annoyed her even more. Normally I wouldn't have been so cautious or questioning, but you have to remember all the unprofessional behavior and lack of common knowledge we experienced up to this point. I would not have been surprised if they ordered her the wrong power. I would also like to say this is the 3rd pair of glasses my daughter has gotten over the years and we have never had a problem in the past with other offices.I will say that when we went back to pick up the requested paperwork the "optician" was fairly nice and somehow managed to come up with the correct cases for my daughters glasses.I wouldn't be apposed to trying the Encinitas office on our next visit but I will not be returning to the Vista office which is a shame because like I mentioned before the tech and doctors were wonderful!Someone needs to clean house here.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
