I came in to see Stacy Tompkins with very mild acne on my cheeks. I was put on a retinoid and had check ins every 6 weeks, my acne became much worse and continued to get worse for 6 months on the retinoid (when it is generally recommended to stop use if no improvement is seen after 3 months). I trusted Dr. Tompkins, and am now left with ice pick scarring from the severe purging and worsening of my original acne as a result. She did not listen when I expressed interest in other treatment options and seemed to barely look at my skin at each check in.

I was in a lot of pain for eczema on my lips, and when I went to see Dr. Tompkins, I was only seen by her for less than 5 minutes. 1. She made me feel stupid when I was telling her about an allergy to a medication; she told me I was using the term “allergy” incorrectly. 2. She looked at my lips for 2 seconds, and I’m not even sure she looked at the picture I showed her on my phone. 3. When I asked her what she thought could be causing the eczema and whether it could be an allergy, she responded, “we don’t do allergy tests. An allergist can do that for you. Any other questions?” I understand that eczema is not a life threatening problem. However, I was in a great deal of pain and it interfered with my ability to eat. I expected her to listen to the details of my condition history and show some compassion. At the very least, I did not expect to leave the office feeling judged, rushed, and dismissed. I am cancelling my next appointment with her, and you should too.

Everyone at this office is do nice. They go out of their way to make you comfortable. Minimum wait time, and they whisk you right in. Very professional, but warm and friendly.
