List of William Wayne Hooper's Reviews
I have a general fear of doctors. When I met Dr. Hooper I was calmed immediately by his manner. I have been seeing the doctor for quite a while to locate the contributions to my pulmonary problem. Not only did he find the causes and isolate the facts to be treated for something specific, he prescribed ways for me to work positively to abate the issues for now and long term. Dr. Hooper is wonderfully positive. He is thorough with his diagnoses and he could calm a charging Rhino. I am so grateful that he is my doctor. Thank you, Dr. Hooper, for everything. Most sincerely, Rei G
The doctors are good. But every phone call is a battle. The secretaries treat the patient like a nuisance and a burden. It is a terrible experience. Go anywhere but here.
Great experience, from the moment he walked into room-he listened, checked all tests run, explained everything so I could understand, and gave me great direction on how to take care of the problem at hand. Thanks Doctor!
I was diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus, with 8% in-hospital mortality for seniors, and after hospitalization went to outpatient care by Dr. William (sometimes “Wayne”) Hooper at Coastal Pulmonary. With chest pain and a strangling cough, I tried to reach him. He sent a message via his clerk explaining that he “did not know what to do.” He was unwilling to speak with me, and transmitted neither questions nor recommendations. I changed meds without medical advice, and am still here.
I was diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus, a potentially fatal (8% mortality in-hospital for seniors) disease, and after hospitalization was referred to outpatient care by Dr. Hooper at Coastal Pulmonary. With acute chest pain and a strangling cough, I tried to reach him. After several calls, he sent a message via his clerk explaining that he “did not know what to do.” He was unwilling to speak with me, and transmitted neither questions nor recommendations through his clerk. I self-medicated and am still around, but still sick. IMO - shameful and unprofessional.
One of the most remarkable, knowledgeable, intuitive physicians I have ever encountered. On my first visit he correctly diagnosed my condition, which was misdiagnosed by many previous primary and ER doctors I had seen. His sensitivity and calm nature, his ability to listen and understand distress were the beginning of healing before he even ordered any tests or medication. My wife and I are so in awe of this fine gentleman. We truly admire and trust his medical abilities. His score: perfect 10.
Very much like D Hooper. He spent quite bit of time answering all our question. He is not a big fan of prescribing unnecessary tests and medications.
He is awesome! And has a great sense of humor! What more could you ask for thx dr hooper your great!!! Very knowledgeable and kind! Takes time to listen and explain all your test results!
My primary doctor for the past 20 years, and he probably saved my life some years ago when he diagnosed my pneumonia with MRSA, and got me to the hospital right away. Another time he noticed a lump in my neck that turned out to be a thyroid problem that required surgery. His distinguishing characteristic is meticulous attention to detail in his examinations and review of blood test data. His referrals, when necessary, are always to doctors that are most highly regarded. He is a superb doctor.
If you want the best in current, valid diagnosis and treatment, look no further. Dr. Hooper is just what I look for in medical care--an expert, a clear communicator, and a boost to positive thinking and positive outcomes.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
