This doctor is not helpful whatsoever. He seems to not care about women and likes his power trips. He will not look out for your best interests! No add him as your doctor.
Dr Cizmar is really an incredible doctor. If you combine the best of Midwifery techniques and the best of OBGYN, Dr Cizmar is it. My wife bore 8 children. The first was born in a hospital and it was a typical (as in horrible) birth experience where the doctor in Valencia, CA treated my wife as a passive patient to just endure his procedure (shut up and sit down, I'm the doctor and you are not). This drove my wife to use midwives for her next 5 deliveries. For the last two children (in 2009 and 2011), she had developed a painful herniated disk from a youthful injury and therefor needed an epidural for debilitating back pain. Because of this, we sought out a doctor and ended up by chance with Dr Cizmar, and Thank God!!! After seeing the extreme care, sensitivity, patience and competence with a woman's body and delivery from midwives, we were very concerned about using a doctor again. However, we were incredibly surprised that Dr Cizmar delivers children in a way very similar to a midwife! He later explained that in Europe, Doctors are actually trained in natural delivery by midwives. So if you need a Very competent doctor, but a delivery experience similar to the caring and competent way a midwife delivers, Dr Cizmar is your doctor. He is really just amazing! My wife and I were just ecstatic to have happened upon him! We ended up not getting pregnant anymore after this, but if we had, we certainly would have gone straight to Dr Cizmar!
Update: I'm almost 7 months post partum now. I've relearned how to take basic steps through physical therapy. I'm able to stand up, sit down, and shower alone now- thank god. However, I still cannot run, jump, or walk quickly. When I do walk I have to be very conscious of each step I take so I do not fall. I have constant anxiety about leaving the house with my son in fear that I will fall while out with him, or something bad will happen that requires a quick reaction which I am unable to make. I can't help but wonder if I will ever be myself again. I feel like I was robbed of part of my youth, and wonder how things would've been different if this doctor would've taken the appropriate actions to give me the care I needed while in the hospital. Because he opted against giving me an mri, nerve tests, etc. during my stay, I had to wait months for these tests through my usual doctors, which now means that it will probably be impossible for me to take any legal action against the doctors who did this to me.
Worst!!!!!!! This doctor saw me in the hospital because I suffer from Hyperemesis! So I'm co considered a high risk patient! He made it sounds like he would take care of me during this difficult time!!!! FALSE!!!! Worst experience! He could careless. Didn't care about hearing about my physical labor job! The whole office in general is horrible!!!!!! Don't get call backs! Canceled appointments on me! He's never in the office to even see! I've Seen him once in 5 months!!!! Would not recommend him or the office he works in! Horrible service when you should feel comfortable! Dr. Cizmar you a jerk who gave false hope of caring!
Although Dr. Cizmar was not the obgyn who delivered my baby, he was the on call doctor at Palomar medical center during my visit. Even after a few days of giving birth, my legs were still numb, which I can only attribute to the epidural I received. I was unable to walk without assistance, and had to be lifted and lowered out of my bed/ onto the toilet, otherwise my legs would give out and I would fall. I was completely helpless, and with a newborn baby. I was told by nurses that Dr. Cizmar was informed of my condition. Needless to say, I was not seen by him until the very end of his on-call shift, when he had woken me up to tell me I was going to be discharged. I immediately started crying and asked how I was supposed to leave if I couldn't even walk. His response to me was "well I've never seen this before, so I'd count on you being better by the end of the day." I did not see him again after this. From this point on I felt like every nurse who had contact with him was in a rush to kick me out. I later had a social worker become aware of my condition, and fought with nurses and the doctor to have me seen by an anesthesiologist, another obgyn, a neurologist, and physical therapists. They ordered me a walker, and physical therapists to come to my house. Despite no one being able to determine what was wrong with me, he continued to discharge me the next day. I am now 10 days postpartum, and still numb. Within the first two days of being home I have fallen numerous times(once with my baby) and broken my finger, and my toe. Although Dr. Cizmar was not the anesthesiologist who did this to me, he displayed an outrageous amount of irresponsibility in not caring for me as his patient. He chose to discharge me knowing that I was a danger to myself and would be unable to care for my newborn to a full capacity. Horrible doctor. Heartless. I don't know how he has good reviews.Update: 2 months post partum- legs are still numb. What ever happened to the Hippocratic oath?

I have been a patient of Dr Cizmar for 9+ years. He is a great physician. Attentive, kind & always keeps the pt first. I have had a few procedures by Dr Cizmar, the outcomes have always been favorable, thanks to him. I will always have him as my Doctor. Thanks Doc
He accepted me as a patient in my second trimester when not many other doctors were taking me. He also flipped/turned my daughter before she was born because she was breach. He knew what he was doing.
I have been seeing Dr. Cizmar for the past few years after problems after my hysterectomy (a whole different office and Dr performed the surgery). Eloise (she is incredible) and the front staff have been extremely professional and gone over and beyond as far as my scheduling, care and efficiency to get referrals and and handle all the details with my care. Maria, Cizmar's assistant is the very best out there. She is so caring, proficient and professional that out of all my years of seeing Drs., nurses, etc she is the best hands down. As far as Dr. Cizmar, I don't know how I was so blessed to end up being referred to him but I am so grateful for all the care, and patience with me, my condition and all the time he has taken with me. I came to him broken with no diagnosis and he has been painstakingly good to me and I know I am being given the best of medical care out there. I couldn't recommend this office, staff or Dr. enough - they are all the best.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Cizmar, Maria, and the staff at North County Women's Specialists!!! Dr. Cizmar didn't perform my hysterectomy (another surgeon in SD area) but I was referred to him with severe pelvic issues about a year afterwards. For over two years now Dr. Cizmar has pursued every possible cause and option for me and shown so much patience despite the unknown cause or diagnosis. I couldn't ask for a more careful, professional, intelligent and great communicator and listener. I am so grateful and honestly don't think there is any other doctor out there that wouldn't have given up on me; instead, Dr. Cizmar has never given up. Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
