David A Haffie Do's Online Review Report Card

Extremely good doctor with a sensitive and gentle approach. This doctor has seen and helped at least 4 members of my family. We have found him to be a patient and attentive listener. Dr. Haffie will recommend what is needed and always explains and answers questions. My teenaged daughter trusts this man, and said to me today when we left his office, "Mom, I hope he never retires because he's the only doctor I like."

Dr. Haffie was my primary care physician for more than 15 years. He listens carefully, and patiently answers all questions. He is not threatened or defensive if you share some potential treatment you've read about, and will explore the pros and cons with you. He is an outstanding physician, and I wish my current plan allowed me to continue seeing him.

I suffer with sinusitis / allergies every year for months on end. I visited Dr. Haffie and initially was impressed by his listening skills and attentiveness to me when I was describing my symptoms. I went in with the hope that he would be able to refer me to an ENT specialist (as my insurance requires a referral) and I could get the care I needed. Regrettably that is not what ended up happening. Instead, I went through the same round of treatment that I do every year from any number of PCP's, and he was unwilling to refer me to an ENT for God knows what reason. I ended up paying out of pocket (not cheap) to visit a specialist because he flat out refused to give me a referral without doing asthma testing and a CT scan of my entire head. I was told they would call me to schedule an appointment for the asthma testing and that never happened. Removed him from my insurance as my PCP and will go elsewhere to get care that works for me. Overall, I'm sure he's a good doctor, but I don't appreciate the run-around and having my time wasted.

Dr Haffie is an incredible Doctor to my mother-in-law who will be 96 in May. Yes, we may wait a bit once we are in the exam room for him to arrive, but when he does it's all about Mom and her needs. He addresses the concern that brought us in and always asks if there is any other concerns. She is diabetic and we always go over that aspect of her health. He never rushes through things. Caring and compassion are attributes he displays every time. When he examines her he is always gentle and lets her know what he is doing and why. She has memory issues and is nearly 100% blind, but he always talks to her, not me about his exam results and answers her many repeat questions like it was the first time she asked. Truly a patient and caring professional. We are blessed to have found him 5 years ago to care for her when she moved in with us in 2014.

Dr Haffie is always attentive and talks through symptoms and treatments. When i need a same day appt his staff usually makes it happen. I have been seeing him for almost 10 years. I highly recommend him

I've had doctor haffi for 4years and I'm not kidding when I say he is a great guy and doctor. He listens and is understanding, knowledgeable and experienced. His demeanor is calming and puts you at ease. His staff is also friendly and efficient. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good doc.

OMG!! Dr. Haffie and Veronica are the GREATEST... been with Dr Haffie for over 14 -15 yrs....Never have I felt he rushed me or treated me like a Number.....Best ever.... I highly recommend him or Shea Robinson....

Not only is Dr. Haffie a caring and experienced doctor, I have NOT experienced any problems with the office staff or unanswered return calls like a previous reviewer mentioned. Even if I had, it is my humble opinion that this review is for THE DOCTOR, not THE OFFICE. I don't believe it's fair to knock a doctor due staff around him that he does not control (he does not OWN the practice). Anyway, I have been a patient of Dr. Haffie for two years and it has been a very excellent experience. I had my previous family doctor for almost 10 years and should have dumped him long before that. He was not a bad doctor - he knew his business - but he would not slow down and listen. He worked for Arch Health Partners in Poway and THEY overbooked him and pushed him to keep the numbers up. I kind of think he wanted to slow down, but he could not for fear of reprimand from his own superiors. Therefore, I'd sit in the waiting area for up to an hour per visit only to have him breeze in and breeze out of the exam room before I barely had a chance to say diddly. Dr. Haffie has ALWAYS given me all the time that I need to fully cover the history of a diagnosis and to answer all of my questions. He builds up a rapport with people and uses it to help his diagnosis because he actually gets to know you and your unique foibles. When done, he always stops and asks, "Is there anything more before I go?" Now THAT is a family doctor I can keep for life (pun intended).

I know that Dr. David Haffie has many satisfied patients. I urge more of them to write reviews as it tends to be the dissatisfied who write the most. When that happens, they become the noisy minority and Dr. Haffie ends up with a much lower rating than he deserves. Crap happens to everyone from time to time. For all those people know, it may have been completely out of Doctor Haffie's control. Now THAT is a family doctor I can keep for life (pun intended).P.S. - If have never experienced any problems with the office staff.P.S.S. - Every doctor I have ever visited in my 56 years of life has run late from time to time. It's the nature of the job they do. Some days it's due to an emergency or a problematic patient. More often it is a result of overbooking which is not the doctor's fault when he does not own the practice, as is the case at El Norte Medical Center. In addition, due to crap medical insurance payout, enormous overhead and out of control malpractice insurance costs, Family doctors don't make bank anymore. They have to see a lot of patients to just cover costs. I do not blame them for being late from time to time. Nobody is perfect. Not even me, for heaven's sake!

please do not choose this doctor i had orthostatic hypertension walking into that office and he pretty much told me to drink water.  Now  i have severe migraines and a painful head rush everytime i stand.  I explain all my symptoms well and all Dr. Haffie did was nod and take no further action. I HATE DOCTORS LIKE THIS. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SOLUUUUTTIIOON  PLEASE REFER TO A SPECIALIST not just take matters into your own hands and do absolutely nothing. I will report this doctor to the joint commission of health acreditation and also to the American Board of Family Medecine and I am currently seeking real proffesional medical assistance.
