List of Dr. Ving Yam's Reviews
The staff is extremely unprofessional and unless you plan on getting vaccinated they'll refuse to see you.
Very caring thoughtful was my best and greatest Dr. If I ever move back to cali he will definitely be my 1st choice
I've been a patient of Dr. Yam's for over a decade. He's extremely thorough, listens to you, takes both a strong medical & holistic approach. He's diagnosed issues that university specialists missed. He is extremely extremely kind and caring & very good at having correct lab work done & other diagnostics. He's recommended certain OTC remedies that have worked better than Rx meds for a few issues I had. He is a thorough notetaker & has a health portal. He's always taken the time I needed. I never feel rushed & he doesn't talk down to patients. He is the best PCP provider I have ever had. I would never change, even after being pressured by the university health system I use for specialists. Fortunately, since COVID-19 I have only needed telemedicine appts, but he sees patients in office on Fridays (unless Omicron changes that). He is VERY careful about COVID-19 protocols. I wish every doctor was this good. I have complete trust in him, which I can only say of a handful of doctors I have had.
Doctor won't see you in-person unless you're fully vaccinated. Today, I was on the phone with the office for 25 minutes, put on hold 6x (I counted), did an entire intake (meds, family history, etc), then at the very end of the conversation right before scheduling an appointment, I was asking about the vaccine and then was told I couldn't be seen by the doctor. I feel that's unethical, along with wasting my time. If you're interested in working with an unethical doc, go for it, but I wouldn't go to someone if I knew they were practicing like this.
Dr. Yam is always very courteous and responsive. I work at an assisted living community were he sees many of our residents and he is the only doctor that responds right away to concerns or medication questions. Dr. Yam used to come to the community before Covid19 but now is still just as available via televisits for our residents. His team is always attentive and professional. I personally recommend his services.
This is my favorite doctor's office EVER. It's a husband and wife who are both doctors and they couldnt be nicer. They work hard to make their patients very comfortable. Every staff member I've ever met there is genuinely kind and helpful. They helped me through a very difficult time when I was very worried. They don't throw a bunch of pills at you like so many doctors. It's as if they realize pills should be a last resort. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Dr. Yam and Dr. Iem have been both my husbands and my physician for several years. They are both very kind, knowledgeable and I would not go anywhere else. They not only care for your aches and ailments but also sit down and talk with you. I appreciate that they do not try to push pills but instead recommend healthy living.
Dr. Yam has been my mother's PCP for some time now. He is very knowledgable in treating the elderly and was quick to respond to her various medical emergencies. If he cannot answer a question, he will refer you to someone who can. He is observant to changes in her physical condition and returns phone calls promptly. Good doctor.
Takes the time to familiarize himself with your specific life circumstances and provides targeted advice and care. Engenders trust and confidence.
Moved from Indiana to California in April Needed a new doctor found Dr. Yam Ving. I went to get a physical and do blood work and do my part to make sure I was healthy.Staff was friendly knowledgeable patient place was clean organized the doctor came to see me Timely did a full work-up advise me of the few medications I was even aware of that I knew I needed just didn't want to hear it being told to me and followed up my blood work with LabCorp right around the corner which was fast courteous clean staff were friendly I had no issues myself.I couldn't remember the phone number for Doctor yam so I looked it up on Google when I saw the bad review I figured I would should go ahead and put by review since I just scheduled myself for a follow-up in September this is a great doctor's office doctors very knowledgeable and very patient besides some separate website saying that they speak another language there's so many different variants of Cantonese just like there's different variants of Spanish so as somebody who has a language major it's very easily misunderstood for people who don't understand different dialects from reading the review above I think the fact that you took the extra step to try to use Google Translate to try to use every necessary resource he had to help a patient is a very proper and forth going Dr another reason I'll keep coming.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
