Jeffrey I Gorwit Md's Online Review Report Card

Had some issues and wanted to see a specialist. I met with Dr Gorwit and and after a couple tests, it was determined a minor medication change was recommended. Once on the new medications, my life went back to normal. Awesome doctor who knows his stuff!

In June my 84 yr old mother started seeing Dr Gorwit. First exam was fine. She suffers from Hypertension and at the time was having an acute episode. The Dr removed one of the two hypertension drugs she was taking, which was good because it was not recommended for use in combination with the other hypertension drug she was taking. He prescribed a different drug. My mom experienced severe side effects that night. We called the Dr’s office the next day and a different drug was prescribed. My mother continued to have dangerously high blood pressure and started taking the second newly prescribed drug. She again experienced severe side effects however due to the dangerously high blood pressure, she continued to follow the Dr’s advice and took the drug. She was not sleeping in addition to the other terrible side effects (vertigo, nausea, body pains). I took her into the office for a scheduled echocardiogram in the middle of all this. On the 7th day of high blood pressure, sleeplessness and severe side effects I was able to talk to the Dr on the phone. He refused to concede that my mother’s side effects were due to the drugs he prescribed. He said he “prescribed them to everyone and no one has these side effects”. He wanted me to bring her in to see him. At this point, I said goodbye. Not only could my mom hardly walk to the bathroom, but it was clear that this Dr was not going to be helpful. After two requests for the results of my mom’s echocardiogram, we have yet to see them. I am very disappointed. My mother has since been treated by another Dr in a different health system and is 100% better.

I had a plaque rupture that blocked my LAD 100%. Dr. Gorwit repaired my blockage just in time. After that, anyone who's had a heart attack knows there's an aftermath of anxiety to deal with. Dr. Gorwit was very understanding of that and would always get me in right away to ensure I was ok. He inspired confidence in me throughout this entire process which for my is critical. I've since recovered and got my anxiety under control. Thank you Dr. Gorwit for saving my life not just during my procedure but after as well.

I have been with Dr. Gorwitt for 7 years. He has a great bedside manner and noramlly takes the time to discuss your condition and options. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Look forward to more yeasrs with him as my Cardiologist.

Dr. Gorwitt has been my Cardiologist for over 4 years and has done a great job in helping keep me active. I have have 5 stents placed by him and he took the time to explain my condition and what to expect afterwards. The only exception was my last visit as he seemed to be in a hurry and didn't allow me to ask the questions that I had which was a disappointment but he has great bedside manners and can't recommend him enough.

He got me through my Heart attack and recommended a great Surgeon for my bypass. He is good natured and shows concern for my wellbeing. I don't think you could find a better cardiologist in San Diego County, or any other place for that matter. Thanks Dr. Gorwit.
