I had an appointment with this urologist2 times. The first time he ordered a Kuband there were some small calculi in my left kidney. So I told him that I had a history of 15 stones in 35 years. So he said I should follow up in six months or if I have pain we would do a CT. When I called to schedule my six month appointment I asked if the doctor would order a kub since I have a history of stones. I have had lithotripsy numerous times. The receptionist asked me if I had pain or blood in my urine and I replied no. So she indicated to me then no kub. I came in to see the doctor and he had a small piece of paper he was taking notes on. I told him that I had really wanted to make sure Ididn’t have a stone lingering so I could avoid the pain. I told him about having the 15 stones in the past and he said “ oh you have had stones???” I was very upset that he didn’t have info in my history. Needless to say he didn’t seem interested in me.My doctor, Thomas Jones retired and so I thought Dr. Polischuk was the answer .
Dr P. is an amazing doctor. Thank you for taking great care of my hubby!
I just had a telemedicine call with Dr. Polishuk who treated me for a stone that was stuck in my Ureter years ago. I have another stone and I’m not as scared as I was during my first episode. Dr. Polishuk is extremely knowledgeable and yet personable. I have complete confidence in his abilities as a Urologist. And he is affiliated with the new Palomar Hospital which had high ratings in all areas including patient surviving rates. I highly recommend this Physician for anything pertaining to Urology!
Simply put, Dr. Polishuk is a superb doctor. I was resisting the temptation of comparing him to other urologists, but the comparison must be made as he really is significantly better than another local doctor I saw recently. The staff was courteous and Dr. Polishuk is very knowledgeable and competent. He was attentive and a good listener as I explained my symptoms. We were able to have a conversation regarding my health instead of a one-sided monologue. He answered all of my questions and ensured that I understood my lab results and what the plan of action was. He offered real solutions to help me and recommended what to do to prepare for my next lab tests. I was more than satisfied and even though I was not able to get in overnight to see him, the short wait was very well worth it. Dr. Polishuk’s 5 star rating is fact based instead of emotion based--- as he really possesses the qualities and attributes that everyone really looks for and needs in a doctor. Thank you, Dr. Polishuk, for doing such an excellent job! I highly recommend Dr. Polishuk as a Urologist as he is vastly superior to his peers.
This guy has zero bedside manner and zero patient education skill, which result in extremely poor service. I wasn't asked any questions to guide them to give me the correct information, neither was I explained what my supposed new condition was, which I found very unprofessional. The burden was on me to ask the correct questions to understand what it was about. Then, after 3 questions, he decided my time was up (after 3 minutes) and he left without even saying good bye or asking if I had any other question. No need to say that I left more confused than when I came in. When doing more research online after the appointment, I found everywhere that "if I'm already doing this and that, then I should see my urologist to get more information" ... well, I didn't get a chance to expose my situation because he was so rushed to go make more money.I guess I'll have to visit another doctor. Thank you for wasting my time and money. What a scam. At least the ratings of this place speak for themselves, I'll tell my doctor to stop recommending this place. On a more positive note, staff and nurses where great people. Only doctor should have done a business school if he didn't care about people. My rating: Avoid at all cost and find a real urologist.
Very unprofessional. Dr. Polishuk was friendly until I politely questioned some of his decisions. His body started shaking and he berated me "Why do you hate doctors!!!" before he stormed out of the room. (Total 'Nice Guy' syndrome if you know what I mean!)On the plus side, I got a nice gift basket of over the counter meds and informational pamphlets. The nurses and staff all very good.
This Dr. is so unprofessional. I am 7 months pregnant and waited two months for an a appointment with Dr Polishuk my OBGYN asked me to make due to complications being pregnant. When he came into the room he called me by the wrong name and said a male dr referred me. I said no, my dr Is X and my name is X. He didn't even look at my chart before he came into the room. He yelled WELL WHO ARE YOU??? Then abruptly got up and had to go look at my chart. When he came back in he clearly didn't review why I was referred to him and did not listen when I tried explaining my history. All this all happened within 1 1/2 minuets ( half the time of this he was gone getting my actual chart) When he came back into the room I tried telling him my medical history to fill him in he handed me a pamphlet for kidney stones and told me to drink water. He didn't want to listen to what my issue I was there for was. I said so this appointment is not going anywhere if your not willing to look at my chart or listen. I walked out to the front desk and said please dump my urine sample and please do not charge my insurance. This was not a proper appointment and he refused to look at my chart before spending time with me.The next day I called for my $100 back they make you put as a deposit for their billing department and to make sure he didn't call my insurance to get money for an appointment he didn't even complete. Well he sure did bill for the appointment I now I have to submit a form and go through a whole process to fight to get my money back. I was told he put in his notes he spent a significant amount of time with me and he said it was a full appointment, wow thats funny because he didn't even have the right chart or know my name!!! This is horrible customer service, especially to do to someone while pregnant. He has horrible bedside manner as Dr. and I do not recommend him!
Dr Polishuk did my vasectomy 12 years ago. He did a flawless job!
So many things wrong with our experience with Dr. Polishuk. Started with failure to return my phone call to confirm the reason for transporting my 95 year old father to his appointment. When asked why he did call back he responded he has thousands of patients and can not call everyone back. He then tried to say he checked his phone log and said I did not call. Right and I guess his dog ate his homework too.Too many inconsistencies on what his plan was and when they were going to be done. Not the Dr. to take an older patient to, or if you want things to happen in a timely manner.
I don't know how he is at his practice so I won't bad mouth him in that regard - because I never got to see him. I took off work today and drove all the way from Marietta to Escondido and when I got up to the desk, he came to the desk and said, he had another patent he needed to work on and that I'll need to re-schedule. He then said the apportionment was for 11:15, but I was told over the phone by Graybill that it was 11:30 which I entered into my phone calendar as soon as the appointment was set. I arrived at the parking lot at 11:10, but got into the actual office at 11:20 because it was difficult finding the place the first time from a one-way street. But I was still early by 10 mins according to the time I was given. The girl at the desk was very nice and felt bad as she tried to reschedule the appointment. But I was so upset because I've had blood in my urine for a few years and needed to get looked at. I just walked out and said I'm going somewhere else.@ Emily Walker.SureFunny how I post a review (a year later after the last review), and my post today says it was posted with-in the week. But yours was posted 10 mins ago according to google as though you posted after me ...when I actually made this post not even 3 mins ago. Sure, this is not rigged..lol
I was in renal failure at Palomar Medical Center July 1, 2017 when Dr. Polishuk walked into the hospital and saved my life! He was awesome! He explained the next steps to stabilize me by surgery because of a large stone in my kidney that was closing off my ureter. He was compassionate and friendly. He's very intelligent and I felt confident in his expertise. He is nothing short of an amazing doctor, who I consider my hero! Many of the staff at Palomar Medical Center told me he is one of the most respected doctors on staff and that many of their family members have him as their Urologist.A week later Dr. Polishuk lasered the kidney stone and I was like new! The surgery was a piece of cake although I heard my stone was very stubborn and harder than normal. I had no pain after at all and felt immediate relief!I want to add Dr. Ps' sense of humor and bedside manner was perfection during an extremely scary situation. He is one of the most patient and caring physicians I have ever met.If you have to reschedule an appointment to see him at his office because he was called away, it's because he is saving a life...I know because he saved mine!Judy Bender
Dr. Polishuk was ill prepared, lacked basic knowledge and offer no advise. He had the nerve to suggest a 3 month follow up visit.

I just walked out and said I'm going somewhere else.He has no class, I waited month to see him, took off work and missed a day of pay, and he rejected my apportionment when I have a notice on paper with an appointment time of 11:30AM, I arrived at 11:20. If he had said, "I'm sorry I have an emergency I can't see you today", I would understand, but he made the comment that I was late as though he was punishing me when I was 10 mins early. And you people give this guy a good rating? They never even called to apologize. I have a new Urologist. By the way, this is not the first time Graybill has messed up times. I always put my times in my phone calendar immediately to avoid being late. What an A hole.
I would recommend against this physician. As mentioned earlier, he seems to walk away from any patient difficulties. Would not cooperate with my primary care doctor's recommendations for a change in treatment because of my persistent pain, saying I should just endure for several months and improvement would occur by itself, and that any other treatment would not be in his area of specialization. And did not even inform me of that until he was repeatedly contacted. His diagnosis was wrong and fortunately I have had considerable relief. My impression in my meetings with him was that he preferred chatting, to practicing medicine.
this man could care less how long you wait in the lobby and really slow to get to the treatment room. changed his plan for me after he came to graybill...now i find him untrustworthy. and i am very tired of hearing about how successful he has become. what a bore...it takes three weeks for him to get around to refilling a RX...JUST SAYIN'!!! i'm headed elsewhere...theres nothing in this office which cannot be easily replaced.
the wait times are severe, even rude. the staff are nice and trying to do well. The doc however could give two hoots to help renew a Rx, seriously, its been three weeks and five phone calls. Also, its a bore to hear again about how he could retire as he is so well off. he also change a plan for me after arriving at graybill and now i am left wondering why all those tests were run before. do i need them or not? i'm moving on. he's not worth the aggravation and can easily be replaced.
Never got to see Doctor. The phone was barely answered. Left messaged and no one returned a phone call. I did reach someone they put me on hold for over ten minutes. When I did talk to someone they rude and did not help me, What a way to run a Doctors office. Had my Doctor refer me to a different Doctor.Dr Polishuk called to give an apology for the behavior of the staff and offer direct contract.
Dr. Paul Polishuk is the best! I have been a patient for 5 years and I have always treated with the best service and I highly recommend him! Thank you Dr. Polishuk for providing your service for the community!
Dr. Polishuk is a wonderful urologist and has fantastic staff in his office. He was very informative and I felt put at ease after my appointment. I went in to discuss the kidney stone I had and the stent that was placed at another hospital while we had been on vacation in Michigan. He explained the procedure that would be performed to break up the stone and when the stent would need to be removed very clearly. Jill is an absolute delight to schedule with and talk to. I can not say enough how much I appreciate Dr. Polishuk.
Dr. Polishuk was great. My primary care physician referred me to him after another urologist botched a surgical procedure performed 6 months earlier. His diagnosis was accurate and hew as easy to talk to, answering all my questions. I hope I never have to see a urologist again, but if I do I trust Dr. Polishuk. The only low grade was one rude nurse.
