Great dermatologist! Listens to patients and gives thorough explanations. His assistant, Karen Leal, is damn good! She should pursue becoming a Dr. The clinic looks great as well. Surprised everything went well and the Dr is personable.

Everyone here was super pleasant. A pleasure to meet them. I needed a biopsy. A bee sting treatment would have hurt more. RECOMMENDED

Run from this practice before you risk your life. I was fortunate to feel uncomfortable and found a top notch group in Oakland. My husband hung on, cause the doc was so nice. Despite spotting a problem, then doing a biopsy, which read as inconclusive, did the doc consider follow-up? No. By a miracle when my husband showed up for his last appointment (he had been to 3 yr appointments since the biopsy) the doctor had vanished without any notification. Hints of a problem existed with weird billing issues. To make a long story longer we are at Stanford today for early melanoma skin problem. Staying with Rubin would have led to much worse. Doctors have a license to kill, the AMA protects them.. Run from this place.

Dr. Ruben is no longer with the practice in this location but Dr. Pai is. I cannot say enough complimentary things about her. She is super smart. She knew right away what the problem was. She has a great bedside manner. She explained everything really clearly. She took her time and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. I felt listened to and cared about. Her advice was so helpful and reassuring. The staff are extremely professional, friendly and competent. I was seen on time and not made to wait. In short, everything that you could ask for in a medical setting.

I was the patient where everything went wrong. Dr. Ruben is mister personal but he messed up my neck, made a mess of my appointments causing me many wasted days taken off work and standing around in his office and got my billing so messed up that my lab report went to collections. Right off the bat, he was not going to make it easy. I needed two moles that are side by side removed and he only did one so now I have a big mess on by neck: his terrible stitches and the second mole still there. I went back to his office another day to have a nurse remove the stitches and got home and realized half of them were still in my neck. then, the next time I returned so he could complete the job, they forgot about me in the waiting room for an hour and I had to reschedule. When I returned (in good humor, still) he wouldn't finish the job because he decided it was "cosmetic". I sit here now with it oozing still trying to find a way to get it fixed by someone in the area who deserves 5 stars. Then, they didn't use my insurance (but didn't tell me) and sent off the billing with the wrong address so now I am struggling with collections to pay a bill I shouldn't be paying. thanks, Dr. Ruben...youre a real pro
