“Unique treatment delivered with dignity and respect.” Yeah, that’s a joke. The food was the ONLY good thing about this experience. I remember when I had arrived on 9/21 at California Vistas (their detox facility in the photos they have provided) for check-in I had thought the place was a haunted house, because the grounds were not kept AT ALL, surrounding a nice victorian-style mansion. The case management staff was a JOKE. Angelo was my case manager, and he honestly didn’t know how to do his job. I had to stay on top of him to get anything regarding my aftercare plan done. And you may be thinking, “oh, he may be busy.” This facility only holds six people, and there are two case managers, meaning he only had THREE CLIENTS. Hopefully that would give PLENTY of time to at least let me know what was going on. But alas, that is not the case. And when confronted on the lack of communication (about 4-5 days would go by without any), there would be an apology, and then the behavior would be repeated. The group therapy was a joke. You’d either read from an excerpt from one of three books, or you’d fill out a form (their famous 3pm worksheet). The whole thing seemed lazy and unimaginative, like the facilitators didn’t even want to be doing it.You weren’t allowed to go anywhere, due to Covid, which would be okay, if there was ANYTHING to do except watch TV there. Their pool had a dead rat in it for a week, the “gym” that they advertise is 3 dumbbells (all different weights) and some resistance bands that a nurse had brought in because someone else had complained. If anyone had told them about the lack of equipment to workout in, to quote Virginia, one of the nurses, we were told to “go run up and down the stairs”.My case being extreme, they had a goodbye ceremony, just to tell me that insurance was allowing them to keep me there for another week an hour after. When talking about it with peers, they gaslighted me, saying that I was crazy for even bringing it up.They also make you pay $150 for medication costs up front- and being all of my medications I brought from home it cost a whopping $28 of that money. They told me that they’d refund me the remainder via check since I paid with card, and it’s been ALMOST 3 MONTHS SINCE IVE LEFT and I’ve yet to see it.I left with more problems then when I came in. This place is BY FAR the worst facility I’ve ever encountered.
After struggling with addiction, I made one of the best decisions of my life.Checked in 11-20-2021 and checked out 12-19-2021. The house was comfortable and welcoming. Watching the sunsets from the backyard was like a postcard. It was nice to have a pool and hot tub. Would have been nice to have exercise equipment. I liked the small atmosphere. The maximum clients is six. Made some great friends. The staff was amazing, minus a couple of people. My case manager was there to help me with anything I needed from filling out FMLA, filing Short Term Disability, setting up aftercare, and everything inbetween. The groups were informational. We were taught how to live a life of sobriety. The seven hour daily groups got monotonous towards the end. The therapist left some to be desired. She was very nice, but we didn't learn much about CBT or DBT. I was looking forward to having a therapist for the first time, but I only ended up getting an hour one on one session the thirty days I was there. The food was fantastic. Pete, Dom and Amy are great chefs. I gained twenty pounds! Two months sober and looking forward to many more. I highly recommend California Highlands Vistas if you're struggling with addiction.
The place was great, Torrie was amazing coming in and giving us hope. Overall was a needed experience.

I have to agree with Dr. Foster and it seems with timing it is more likely the same individual. Even meeting with that therapist would not have helped as they think they know you just by ease dropping and from a 5 minute session. They may need some time off as it felt like they just had alot of negativity. Everyone else there was amazing and at times it was the wonderful kitchen staff Dom and Amy you know I'm talking about you...that made each day bearable. The actual counselors and therapist were too overloaded to really communicate.
I promised that I'm going to testify if my trading was successful' It takes so much time and effort to know the right Trade expert to win trade, After all my research I came in contact with her and I've learned a lot with her in this few years. I'm so impressed with the profit she helped me made, What I love about her is consistency, she's awesome. I just made my withdrawal of 15,000 $ USD. Reach out to her for the best forex trading result. Contact her via Email: katherinelawrence070@gmail.com WhatsApp: +14326522748
The mansion is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful but they need attention really badly! I would give this place a 5/5 if it weren’t for the fact that I never received a one to one with a therapist. Apart from that, the nursing staff is amazing and they really seem to want the very best for their clients. The food was awesome and there was a baby grand piano that I got the luxury and privilege to play; the rooms seemed more like a really good resort and I was very comfortable watching TV in bed at night. I would totally recommend this place if there were some changes made with respect to therapists; moreover, It wasn’t easy for me to get specific snacks that are allowed on my diet bc “...you already have a box”. I found it strange that the food and vaping juice seemed to bother a particular person, in general; in fact, it was frankly none of here business about my wanting a variety of snacks made by QUEST, which if you’re on the keto diet, I definitely recommend them, so delicious, but I quickly get tired of having just one flavor all the time. All in all, I loved the setting and the plants and the pool and the staff and the art therapy and it would be a shame to limit the great experiences I had there by the few bad I actually had; which could be mitigated by only replacing one person there.Sincerely, Dr. Jason Foster
I checked in on 5/4/2021 after struggling to get clean on my own and left on 5/28/2021 feeling like a whole new person. I owe my life to these people and will never forget them. Everyone there from the counselors, nurses, cooking staff—they are all so caring and made the whole experience feel like I was at home with family. They genuinely care about their clients and their recovery and I never had any problems there. I highly recommend this treatment center to anyone struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. I’m almost 6 months clean and sober and growing stronger everyday. I keep my coin with me everyday and not a day goes by that I don’t think of my rehab experience that changed my life. ❤️ Recovery is possible!
Nice facility, nice staff, great food.
By far the best detox I have ever been to and that's saying something because I've been to a few and a few nice ones at that! So comfortable, peaceful and beautiful with an amazing staff that genuinely cares.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
